Kyle was scared. He was a freshman at university, after taking a year just to relax. He had fun during the year off, but now it was time to get back to hitting the books, and work hard to secure the job that his parents had promised him after he got done with University.

You see after he was done university, he was to get a highly paid position at his family business. That family business was the reason he was so scared about University. His family was rich, so rich that instead of sending him off to some boarding school, where he could of interacted with some kids at least but he was kept sheltered.

He made an attempt to interact with the other Freshman during Orientation but no one really same to care about him, they were all to busy planning a party, or discussing this cute Co-Ed they wanted to have sex with. He was just about ready to give up on making friends, until one of the girls from across the hall came and knocked on his door.

Chase knocked on the door. Knocked! Honestly, who kept their doors closed? Unless this kid didn't want to meet anyone his first week of school, or at all... She'd have to mention that to him, if he opened up. She knocked louder... when he didn't answer right away, calling.

"Don't worry about putting pants on, wouldn't be anything I haven't seen!" and then laughing. She knew he was male, and that his name was Kyle. Well, unless he was a girl on the guys side of the hall, named Kyle. She'd come to introduce herself to him. She hadn't seen him around, and was making a point of saying hi to everyone in the residence.

She'd been there and done this, she knew it was best to meet as many people as soon as possible. It was like throwing spaghetti at a wall... the more you threw, the more that might stick.

Kyle knew it wasn't a good idea to keep his door closed but he did, no one ever came and talked to him. On the flipside he didn't make any effort himself. What was he going to say, I'm umm Kyle, and I'm umm the heir to my Dad's multi-million dollar business.

Kyle slid a pair of pants on before he opened the door. He knew that the voice, which was defiantly female told him he didn't have to worry about it but he put them on anyway, not knowing how everyone else would react to him answering the door in just his underwear.

Kyle slowly slid open the door, getting a look at Chase who he remember from when they were all introduced to each other after they arrived earlier that weekend. "Hello Chase, what can I do for you?" He managed to mutter out very sheeplisy.

"Decided to go for the pants anyways?" she shook her head at him. "You need to keep your door open, you'll never meet anyone all shut up in here!" she told him, walking into his room unapologetically. She looked around. Computer - very expensive, high tech, brand new... desk chair, not the one that came with the dorm. Didn't look like the dorm standard mattress either... too high. Maybe he had one of those neat feather things.

By the looks of things, all his books were new too. Must be nice, she thought... having some cash to spend. She had a laptop that she'd bought off a friend of her dad's... real cheap. It was probably stolen. All her books were second hand. Typical starving student deal.

She paused her ininvited exploration of his room to answer his question. "Do for me? I was just coming around introducing myself to everyone, but it appears you already know me."

"Yea I remembered you from one of those introduction things yesterday. So I did go to a few things." He said as he looked at her. "It's nice to actully meet you one-to-one though, Chase." He said motioning for her to take a seat on the bed, as he sat down in his chair.

"I know I should keep my door open, but I can only put up with so much of this 'Check out this cool party tonight, 3 streets away' or 'Look at that girl in Room 214, boy would I like to fuck her.' All these people seem to have just come here, and have been able to fit right in." He looked down at the floor for a second.

"God Damn Dad, why couldn't you have at least sent me to Private school instead of hiring the teachers to come to our place, maybe then I could have learned some social skills." He looked back up remember Chase was in his room. "Sorry Chase, I guess I really shouldn't of did that in front of you."

"You had hired teachers? Thats cool... I went to regular old public school. Where people got in fights with people with knives, tires were slashed... you know, the regular." she chuckled. "Social skills can be learned, don't you worry. By the way, I'm the girl in room 214, who wants to fuck me?" she asked him.

She wasn't teasing him... her room number was 214. She ignored his statement that he shouldn't have done that infront of her. What did she care? So he was rich? One look around his room and she'd figured that out.

She sat on the bed. Definately not the dorm mattress. She grabbed his pillow and pulled it into her lap, a habit. She put her elbows on it and leaned forward, chin on her hands. "So, what are you studying?"

Kyle smiled at her. "From What I heard, it seems like every guy in the building, maybe even a few of the girls." He sat up as he spun around in the chair looking at her. He open up a drawer beside him, and pulled out a box of crackers, putting in on the bed besides Chase if she wants any.

"Me, I'm studying Business, I get my degree and then I get a nice cushy job in the family business." He sighed, knowing that in 4 years he was going to go back into some sheltered exsitance, assistances making appointments, only talking to maybe 3 people a week besides his staff.

He snapped out of his thought. "So Chase, what about you, What are you studying." He said "And I hope you are right about the fact I can learn some social skills, it will be a long 4 years without them."

"Studying? Didn't come hear to learn! Came here for the free money the government is giving me... money I don't have to pay back for a few years. The real world sucks you know, all hard work and bills... school is easy." she laughed, before giving him the serious answer.

"Law and philosophy. Double major." she shrugged. Two subjects she figured she could sleep through and still pass. Plus, lots of pretentious arses in both... whom she could prove wrong, and be snarky too. Expecially the profs. She was looking forward to it... plus, if she was lucky she might get a class with the famed "Professor Longtin", who was apparently as hot as he was smart. The man was a legend, as was his wife... a beautiful woman who taught business.

Kyle smiled at her. "Now that is an interesting Double Major." He thought for a second. "Makes sense though." He said as he looked up at her. "I wish I would have an understanding how what the Real World is like, but it looks like I'm going to be taken care of until I die." He had to admit it wasn't bad but it wasn't what he wanted.

"Chase you seem to be pretty outgoing, and we are both pretty outgoing." He thought for a second wondering how exactly he should word this. "Do you, ummm, want to go explore, umm, Campus together, I know we have totally different majors, but umm, it would be good if we see all campus not just a small portion." He wanted to smack himself, he was fine until he asked that question.

She laughed. "What you are studying has nothing to do with anything. I have a class in the Engineering building. I'm sure as hell am not studying Engineering!" she said. She looked down to her feet. Slippers. That wouldn't really do for exploring.

"I'll go, but we have to head to my room for a minute first. I need proper footwear!" She stood up. "Oh, and have some confidence in yourself man! Campus exploration is not for the faint of heart!"

Kyle smiled, and nodded. "I guess you have a point there." He said as he rememberd the fact he had some classes in the Chemistry building, and the Main Arts building. He quickly slipped his shoes on, and followed Chase to her room.

"I know that, but I'm just not used to all this." He said as they walked down the hall a little bit towards her room.

Chase opened the door to her room. She had been lucky and gotten a single room... a roommate just wouldn't have sat right with her. Too little privacy. The room was pretty standard - old blue comforter on the bed, mid-range laptop plugged in on the desk. Used books piled on the shelf. There were posters on the wall, rock bands, movies, how to make drinks, everage college posters.

She went into her closet and selected a pair of flip-flops. If Kyle happened to look into the closet, it appeared to be mostly regular clothes, but there looked to be a few out of the ordinary peices - shiny and black, lacy and short. On the bottom part of the closet were her shoes. Though she had selected flipflops, and there were a few pairs of runners... most of her shoes appeared to be heels. Heeled sandals, thigh high booths...

She shut the closet door and turned around, slipping off her slippers and putting on the flip-flops. "Ready?"

Kyle smiled at her. He got a quick glance around her room as she picked out her sandals. It was a pretty normal dorm room, he realized he was lucky, able to avoid the hard matress of the typical room, and all the other normal low end items that come with a dorm room. He also noticed that she was lucky a first year student with out a roommate, for him that was a given the way his father pulled strings.

"Ready as I'll ever be, come on Chase, lets go." He said giving her a quick smile

"Alrighty." she replied simply. She left her room, waiting for him to do the same before leaving herself, locking the door behind her. "So did you do the typical tour before picking the school?" she asked. She hadn't. This school was too far from where she lived - which was the appeal, for her to go do a tour. She figured school was what you made it, and none of the places close to home had seemed appealing.

So, really... this was her first experience of the school. Looking at it in books was one thing, walking through the buildings was another.

Kyle shook his head. "Never did a tour before I came here, looked good enough in the books for me." He said as they exited the building. The campus was a fairly decent size, not so huge that it takes 30 minutes to go from one side to another, but not small enough where you can walk from one side to another in 5-10 minutes.

He looked at Chase. "So where to First, Chase." He said before he looked up at the sky. It was a cloudy day, but it was still mild, and it looked liked the rain was going to stay away for now.

"I had the same thing going on. So, I don't really know where to start. Directions are not my thing. Let's just walk and see where that takes us... I hear there is a dinosaur in one of rooms in the Environmental Science building." she informed him. That wasn't actually in any of the books, but she had been talking to other students. It was either a popular rumour or the truth. She'd have to find out, either way. A dinosaur at the school sounded interesting.

"So, you never went to school at all? How did you meet people... playiong sports? Family parties?" she asked, curiously. It would be interesting to know how 'home-schooled' rich kids lived. She wasn't trying to be nosy, but she had no experience at all with anyone who was above middleclass.

Kyle nodded. "Yea lets go see if that rumor about the dinosaur is true, it would be cool if it was." He said as they started walking around campus. "Should be an interesting trip around campus then, hopefully we won't get lost, and hopefully it won't start raining."

He looked at her. "I tried playing sports, and having parties, but any friends I had where home schooled like myself. Every time I tried to get involved in anything with people my own age, I either fell flat on my face trying to make an impression, like the only time I've ever went out on a date, or I would get picked on by people who didn't like the fact I was this rich kid."

He looked at Chase. "I know it's tough to make friends for everyone, but don't you think your experience in the public school system made it easier for you, seen it was easier to get involved in activities, be it high school sports or things like that, especially when compared to a person like myself who was home schooled since the beginning."

"Life is what you make it. Easier to make friends with the wrong people. And trust me, most of the time you don't know who the wrong people are until they hand you..." she chuckled. "Never mind. But suffice it to say - my public school at least... there were some fucked up kids there."

She shook her head again, as if shaking those memories from her head. "You've only been on one date? How old are you?" she asked, raising her eyebrows. She'd met a few 16 and 17 year olds already, but he didn't strike her as that young.

Kyle nodded. "Only one, and I'm 19, pretty sheltered life isn't it." He said as he tried to shake the memories of that date from is head, it just was awful from the beginning. At first his car wouldn't start making him late, then when they tried to make conversation he made a total ass of himself.

He smiled at Chase. "There are messed up kids anywhere, but I wish I had at least experienced Public School. It would of helped alot, I go from a place where I know maybe 4 people, and them not vary well to a school where on our floor there are what 50 people. I don't know if I will be able to handle it."

"Don't worry. You'll be fine. It will just take some getting used to. I really think the hardest part is the public bathrooms. Sharing with so many people is a little tricky at first if you are used to your own." she told him. "But it gets easier. I know." she laughed. She'd lived in residence the last time around, too. One of the few things she had liked about the previous school. The rest of it hadn't been that great an experience. She hadn't liked her program, the atmosphere of the school... any of her professors. Basically, she'd had a bad attitude towards everything.

Between that and the excessive amounts of partying she had done. Officially, she'd been kicked out for underage drinking. She'd gotten some warnings first - but she kept slipping into the campus pubs and the clubs. She'd really been lucky she hadn't gotten in worse trouble.

Kyle looked at Chase, giving her a quick smile. "I hope your right Chase, but this whole experience for me is like taking someone from the fire into the frying pan, I guess it's like that for everyone, but it seems like it's 10 times worse for me."

They finally arrived at the Environmental Science building, more by luck then anything. "Well we are here lets go see if we can find that dinosaur." He stopped for a second remembering something Chase said earlier. "You said, But it gets easier, I know, is this not your first time at University." He asked her.

"Nah, second time is a charm for me. Hopefully. I went to a small college right after I graduated from highschool. Wasn't the right time for me... I got kicked out. This time I'm a little older, a little wiser... and I have a much better fake ID. Plus this place is a little less... rigid than where I was at before." she winked. She was still planning to party, but she was going to be a little less out there than last time around. No drinking before Thursday nights was a rule she had set for herself.

Chase opened the door to the ES building and walked in, looking around. It had large glass windows all around the outside, and looked to be at least 5 floors. The ceiling on this floor was low... they'd entered from the back door. The main floor was either up or down. Then again, it could be hidden away in some classroom or lecture hall. Nobody had stated what kind of dinosaur... it could be small.

Kyle looked at her. "So I guess you do know abit about this whole university thing. Think you can help me try and get used to all this, well as best you can. I don't think I really interested in this whole party atmosphere though, Alcohol isn't really my thing." He lied, he never had a sip of Alcohol, never had the chance either, he was willing to try it he just didn't want to start at a party.

"So Chase, do you want to go Up or Down, who knows if we will ever find it though." He said amazed at how nice the building looked inside he wasn't expecting anything like this, not after seeing the hallways of his dorm, and the inside of Chase's room, although she did a nice job of making it look good.

"Alcohol is good. But really, if you are drinking... you should have someone to watch out for you. Even guys get in trouble when they've had too much to drink." she said, by way of advice. He'd said it wasn't his thing... but so did lots of people, until they tried it.

"I'll go wherever. I'm easy." she winked. She wasn't worried about how he would take that... it was just how she was. She was friendly, sarcastic, flirty... basically however she wanted to be, that was how she was. She didn't put much thought into what other people thought of her... people either loved her or hated her for it. Very few people stayed indifferent.

"Well maybe if I ever decide to try the stuff, you can introduce me to Alcohol." He said with a grin. He looked at the building again trying to figure out where they should go.
"I say we go up Chase, it looks more promising then going down the stairs, do you want me to led." He said.

Kyle could get used to her, she wasn't hard on the eyes, he might of been sheltered but he still knew a good looking women. She also had a personality where she just didn't care what people thought of her, she was just looking out for herself, he wished his personality was more like that. But no matter what he wasn't going to ask her out on a date, he was to shy and still scared after how bad his last one was like, he knew he was probably destined to end up single and a virgin.
