Catherine stood up to leave, presuming her time was up.
“Yes, I do think this is ridiculous. You seem to be obsessed with oral sex and it being the holy grail and making sure Michael is happy and sexually fulfilled. I’m not going to lie to him, do things in a mechanical fashion, and use your words so you can hear the lurid details of my sex life at my next appointment. You didn’t even hear a word I said today. I told you I don’t even enjoy fellatio that much. Did you even try to explore why I might have lost my mojo? No. I’m sorry, I don’t think you’re the right therapist for me.”
Catherine left the office quickly, fighting tears. She was on her own with this. These therapists were fucking nuts. In her anger and frustration with Dr. Parker's selfishness, she considered reporting him to the board of medicine.
It was absolutely heart-breaking to tell someone everything about yourself, and for them to totally be missing a sensitivity gene. And he was trained to know better. Or, he should have been. Did he think she was totally stupid? Was he just a totally selfish dick?
Catherine sat with her tea in the coffee shop, trying to shake the experience. She reflected about having an honest conversation with Michael and seeing a professional marital counselor together. Perhaps that was the best way to deal with this. Or, perhaps she’d seek counseling on her own. Something obviously wasn’t right with her marriage or with her chemistry.
Sucking a dick without enthusiasm certainly wasn’t going to fix it.
