Okay, I realize in some places, the age is different but here in Illinois, and probably the whole United States but, do you believe that waiting to finally have sex at 18 is worth it? Would you rather do it earlier and if so, why?

By no means am I a virgin, I've had my share of sex but, my first time was not the greatest, personally I think the age should be braught down to 16 or 17 or something. I mean, not everyone has had the first time at 18. I know a few that have had sex at 14 and alil older. So, what happened with you? Do you think the age is right or what?

The age of Reason is the time any one should be aloud to have sex. by definition the age of reason is when a person becomes self aware of their actions and relizes the consquences before hand. the government legaly set the standard that the age of reason should co-incide with the avarage end of puberty growth, hence the age of 18 was put in as the legal limit.

now, people come into reason at perfectly random times of each other, most find it at the age of 15-16, but there are often people who reach it at the age of 11 or 12 when their sexual systems just first turn on. but again, still some people can only find it at the age of 17-18.

it is generaly a socialy learned thing, and well, if you live in a box. then youll come into the age of reason later than most.

*shrugs* I waited until I was 20, and it was worth it.

I was under the impression that the age of consent, which varies from state to state in the US, doesn't necessarily mean that it's illegal for minors to have sex, but that it's illegal for adults to have sex with minors who aren't able to give consent (legally, at least).

If you are under the age of consent, you can't have sex, period. Hence the word CONSENT. Its understood that anyone under that age does not have the right or abilities to be able to consent to sex. Personally, I think everywhere should put it at 18 since that is when one becomes responsilble for their own actions. If they decide to do it before that and end up pregnant, diseased, etc. Then both them and their partner should be locked up for a bit then released to live on their own since they feel that they can take care of themselves enough.

the age of consent varys from state to state. the Stautory Rape Laws say that it is Illegal for a person of 21, to have sexual intercourse with a person of an age younger than 18. this tends to leave a grey hazy area between 18 and 20 which most states tend to ignore.

but most states have sub laws saying the Age of consent is between 16 and 18 which can be aurgued in a court of law inside that state if you are 21 and have sex with some one 16, but again some mite refute that and state, the federal law is 21 and 18, and the state law is between 18-20 and the age stated. lots of controversy over this subject really.

Well i guess i am the only one who didn't wait for a while. I was 13 when i first had sex and i thought it was worth it. But thats just me

I believe I performed an illegal sex act on my wife in Louisiana whilst on holiday there a few years back. Think it was against state law but it was in New Orleans so probably alright !
