Wondering about the sex biz. Escorts, porn, strippers, movie directors, camera people. What do they make and how do they make it?

Some numbers I have heard. People in the biz I spoke to, PMed or emailed over the years.

Strippers. Kind of more obvious. Tips. Wide range of income depending on class of location. I have heard from a couple hundred a night to a couple thousand.

Escorts. Not connected to service, but on their own. $200 an hour to a couple thousand for a date. Most $200 to $500.

Nude art or photo shoot modeling. $50 to a couple hundred an hour.

Maybe someone knows more and can add.

Then there is porn. Most everyone on this site has seen some sort of porn as it is posted on many pages. It seems free to look at most stuff. So the ads on the porn pages must be making lots of money. Any idea how much ads pay?

They have to make the porn.

What does a camera operator make? I cannot imagine they work for free just to look.

I have heard Directors make pretty good money. Never heard a number.

Then there has to be a financial relationship to the web sites that charge.

Someone makes the sets. Tables and bondage furniture. Beds are little easier to guess. Laundry bed sheets?

Then the talent. Looks, skills and what you are willing to do is probably a variation.

Males probably get paid less. But they have to get hard without real excitement.

Probably a variation for an easy BJ verse taking several kicks to the balls.

And the girls. Probably the main focus of the biz as most guys like looking at girls.

I talked to a girl that would only do a scene with a girl and did not get as much money as she would with a guy.

Some porn you see looks like the talent own, control and produce their stuff. That would be a different financial structure.

And I would guess there would be a premium for getting tied up or being spanked.

This is not really about sex as much as it is money.
But as prostitution is the oldest profession, it seems knowing more about it would be interesting.

Seem like you can find out more about Soiled Doves from the 1800's then the current online porn.

My understanding is, the porn industry is going through a real downward cycle right now in terms of economics compared to earlier times, like the 1990's or early 2000's. That is because, back then porn had a paying audience in either rental movies, pay per view, or porn sites. Now they are a product of their own success.

It is as simple as this: with so much free porn, who would pay for it?

It is kind of true. This site itself is full of imagery and video clips... all for free.

If you look around you can see the change. The newer stuff is either video clips, or very kink-specific.

By video clips I mean clips of amateur's having sex, or short clips that are cheap and easy to produce. Long videos of actresses and actors are a product of the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's, with very few produced today as they money is just not there to support that.

In terms of kink-specific, this is currently where the money is. As people have seen so much of porn, to combat that level of familiarity, they start watching kinkier sex. Your own link above proves that. Watch a movie from the 1980's and you might see a bit of whipping of a lady in a kinkier sex movie, but its rather mild whipping, where as today you see direct whipping of a ladies sex! Harsh! But it has to be kinkier or people will not pay for porn sites. Sadly, there will always be ladies with economic situations, or vice habits that will endure harsher levels of sex, in order to get money.

While Dakota Skye probably is not a great example, recently she died penniless and homeless despite being a well known porn star. My heart goes out to her, as I do not shame the dearly departed, but it does make my point that the money is no longer in porn as much as it once was.

So has anyone here seen porn and wondered how it got there?
:):):):):):):)
Yes we e probably all seen porn. I know there is a lot of drugs involved. It was cocaine. Now I'm betting it's meth. One of 2 things happen after fucking and using stimulants like I mentioned l day. 1. The man cannot get it up. 2. Or they become really horny and make boners and porn all day. We all are guilty of watching a d fantasizing but hey... John Holmes died from AIDS. Charlie Sheen dated 3 porn stars and contracted HIV. Any more questions? Job hazards.

Job hazards of porn are well published.

The curiosity of this thread is the money and how much they make for doing what? That is not shared much.

I worked as a stripper in a high end club in Toronto in the 1990's. The main money was in private lap dances. The clients couldn't touch my pussy or butthole, but otherwise full contact was permitted. It was $20/song plus tips. With 15-20 songs/hour it was easy to make well over $1,000/night if things were busy. The key was to find the clients who could pay and treat them so well that they don't want to leave the VIP room.

If you get guys who just want one or two songs and a grope you spend more than 1/2 your time finding customers. A lot of girls thought that was all guys wanted. They would grind on them while looking off into space then leave after two songs. They made less than 1/2 the money that I did.

Also you want to do a really good stage show. There was always one girl doing a stage show and we all had to take our turn. A stage show was three songs and I'd do a few in a full shift then spend the rest of the time hustling VIP dances. A great stage show is advertising for the guys trying to decide which girl to take to the VIP room.

Looks and demeanour make all the difference. If you are hot you will make decent money, but if you are good with the clients you can make a lot of money. Otherwise you'll starve or end up at a secondary club where the money is nowhere near as good.

The key at the club I worked was that it was near vibrant business districts so there were a lot of customers with the ability to pay.

Great Post!!!

Have you done any porn or know someone that would say how much they made?

No I knew some girls who sometimes work as escorts or engaged in sugar baby dating but not porn.
A decade or 2 back I seen escorts. Some were $400 and up. Most were $200-300. And when I found one that liked my tongue, the donation would drop. A couple dropped to just cover the room.

if you're really interested in the money aspect, then go to the next Adult Video Convention and start talking to all of the actors, producers and other workers that will be there.

I'm sure it's like any other business, the more you put into it, the more you make. The more popular you are, the more you make.

Most porn is now on Only Fans and some people are making tens of thousands a month

I was once offered a job as an assistant to a small-time pornography director. Part of the job would have required me to be on set (behind the cameras). I wouldn’t feel comfortable being around people having sex. It was a part-time position and paid 16/hour. This was back in 2018.

While I am curious, I do not wish to be out in a public place asking. I am hoping that someone here has the info.

I had an escort I seen years ago, that would only do girls or BDSM on a guy. It limited her income from porn but kept her escort biz safe and secure. She ended up at about double the rate of the other girls. Happy I seen her early on and she kept a rate for me for a while. Ten years ago her rate was $500 for an hour date. She said she made a little less per hour in porn but had more hours. She started her career in the topless bar scene.

The oddest thing is the girls that receive the hits in BDSM. Seems like they should get some really good money to do that. (Even if they like it.)

Warning: I have no hard facts about finances of the sex industry. But I do love big breasts and lactation.

And I was going down a lactation 'rabbit hole' and found a lactating woman who, for a fee, will breastfeed a client for a period of thirty minutes. There are strict requirements for the client, very limited touching, a safety person is present. But she charged $500 per half hour. It's probably more now.

In 'Deadwood', one whorehouse boss observes that 'specialists' (fetishists) pay top dollar and cause no trouble. I think that's the best way to make a decent living for a long period of time in the sex industry.
