Starogan stepped into the clearing and took a deep breath. He was still not sure if this was a good idea but his craving for knowledge was bigger then his fear of ridicule. He had decided that his old master had thought him everything he could and now he was looking for further insight into the world of magic. With his 32 years he was still young for a mage but old enough to know that there was more to live then sitting in a damp tower reading old books. His old master, Elmarion, was more of a traditionalist. Magic was only be used to gain more insight and to help others, it was not used for personal gain. Starogan balked at that thought. Why learn magic if you can't use it to make ones life simpler or better? No, he didn't consider himself evil, he was not out to conquer and subjugate everyone but some basic amenities should be available to him. Unfortunately Elmarion didn't think the same way and so Starogan had been forced to leave him and search for a new master.
He had heard rumors about the Sorceres several month ago while he still was with Elmarion but dismissed them as unfounded and superstition. After he had left his old master he had decided to follow up on those rumors because they spoke of more knowledge and more power then he ever thought possible. He had come here to the heartwood and even talked to the people that lived in the hamlet just outside of the forest but even they considered the Sorceress more of a rumor then an actual person. But something picked his interest. Nobody entered the forest, not ever.
He tried himself and found that a very sophisticated spell turned the interest of someone who wanted to enter away. After 2 week he finally was able to deflect the spell and now he was standing in the clearing in the middle of the heartwood and looked at the building in front of him. He wondered if the building was build, grown or created with magic. It looked like some kind of plant but he also could see glass, gems, bricks and stuff he couldn't identify. Even to his eyes, that had seen books and shelves for most of his lives it looked beautiful beyond comparison.
Now he was glad that he had made himself presentable before entering the forest. He had shaved and trimmed his beard and washed himself too. His medium length brown hair had been washed and braided and his simple brown traveling cloak also had been washed and mended in those places where it's long use had started to show. The rest of his belongings including his spellbook was in the backpack he had place by his feet upon entering the clearing.
He grabbed his backpack and started to walk to the building, wondering what the Sorceress would be like. If she was even willing to teach him or if you simply would turn him away.

Apparently I need someone to play the Sorceress. You should be able to write longer descriptive posts: I rather have 3 or 4 solid posts a week then several posts a day that are only one sentence. The Sorceress should be willing to teach Starogan magic (and more) for his other service. It's somewhere between forcing him and seducing him. If you are interested send me an PM with some basic ideas and an description.
