Two of the top 75!!! Of all time!!! And when you think that there are some 130,000 stories on the site. So the odds are about one in 1700 that a story could make the top 75. To have two stories make it translates into odds of about one in three million!

You are accusing me of rigging the voting on Lit? Please go on and tell me exactly how I did that. I would be very interested to know and so would the owners of this site. And by the way I finished second. If I was smart enough to rig a vote i would have been number one.

Whiners and beggars? Is that how you see the support thread? I'd think the word support would have given you a clue. As for the second time an unknown author won, that should give you another clue. Your conspiracy theory's don't hold water.

btw, number of votes don't win a contest. It doesn't say anything other than you need 25 votes. The score is what wins. Most everyone lost votes on this contest in large numbers. An error in the new voting system? a ner sweep for something they've found? A new loophole plugged? I don't know, I can only speculate.

Have a nice day but don't accuse me of cheating unless you can prove it.

I submitted a story called “Bin Laden’s Babies” to LITEROTICA in mid to late November. It was an attempt at - Humorous Anti War Incest – a story poking fun at the evil Al-Quaida as well as the American baby making industry.

Anyway the story came out on either the 28th or 29th of November to mixed reviews. Not unusual given the political overtones – I’ve learned over time that generally my readers don’t like the introduction of politics in my stories. Once in a while I do it anyway.

As a rule at the end of every month I go to my submissions page and copy it and then paste it into a document so that I have a record of where each of my stories stood at months end, figures I can compare to past figures or future figures. So I do know exactly where “Bin Laden’s Babies” stood at the end of November.

It had 7813 views and 100 votes. On December 5th, when I was on my submissions page for some other reason I noticed that my Bin Laden story didn’t seemed to have gained many views and may even have lost some votes.

It now had 7938 views and 88 votes. I checked my end of November numbers and found it had only received 125 new views and had lost 10 votes. Didn’t make any sense! Until I noticed what was written at the far right: STORY REJECTED. Huh? WTF?

Had LAUREL or MANU succumbed to Arab pressure? Had it been pulled on a threat from the Ayatollah?

Well, as it turned out, it wasn’t the Arabs who got the story rejected after a week on the site. No, it was two meddlesome, middle aged AHers (no, not the famous sisters), friends of one of the VESTAL VIRGINS and with connections to the council of the TWELVE WISE ONES, who set out to rob our readers of my work.

No, it wasn’t international politics that did me in – instead simple jealousy. Apparently the two old girls were bitter over being placed on some inconsequential list. And so they sent out their ugly missives (I was actually given a copy of one later) to headquarters, complaints, half truths, whining…until finally one of their friends rejected the story as recompense to them for past sexual favors.

The official LITEROTICA explanation for the rejection was:

Was there an underage (under 18 years old) sexual relationship in my story?

No ladies, if fact there wasn’t! No, whoever rejected the story, there wasn’t! No, LITEROTICA CENSORS, there wasn’t!

But it gets worse!!!!

What with the holidays and everything I didn’t do anything with the story – instead just left it as REJECTED promising myself I’d get back to it in the New Year.

Guess what? At the end of December it had 8020 views and 88 votes. Somehow 82 people had viewed the story. Which was strange. But again I just left it as REJECTED.

At the end of January it had 8113 views and 79 votes. Another 93 reads of a REJECTED story!

Today, February 11, it has 8158 views and 75 votes Another 35 reads so far this month. This means that, since it was REJECTED in early December, the story has been read 210 times and lost 25 votes.

Who the fuck is reading this story? How do they do it? Heck I can’t even read the friggin story.

Do LAUREL and MANU pull out their laptops at the end of the day as they lie entwined in their bed and, after clicking some secret access code, read my story?

Do the TWELVE WISE ONES read it surreptitiously?

In my humble opinion I believe that if it’s good enough for the big wigs it should be good enough for the masses.

You guys aren’t by any chance selling private reads of my story to the rich and powerful are you? How will this affect my royalties?

I’m quite proud that I’ve written two of the MOST READ stories on this site. But I’m not so sure about now having the “MOST READ STORY AFTER IT’S BEEN REJECTED” story.

And I now have a big decision to make – do I just leave it as it is in REJECTION LAND, slowly accumulating reads from the rich and famous or do I reenter the story and try to get it back up on the site?

And yeah, I agree on the numbers thing (that post was actually a weak attempt at irony, or was it sarcasm? Anyway, I meant to point out the lunacy of the situation). Any story that can accumulate numbers while invisible to the masses brings the whole system into question.

There is some new legislator concerning libel, slander, and a couple of other things as far as ISPs and user names are concerned. He has a school mate that is pretty heavy into it. I'll know more next week.

That's all a head scratcher for me, but, as far as I can figure the intent of your point, I have no doubt myself that Scouries is using some sort of massive vote generator. The numbers are just too outlandish. That said, this isn't the point here, is it? You don't get sympathy in a court (not that they take up such a stupid case to begin with) for claiming someone is doing something nasty that you are clearly doing yourself as well. This isn't a white hat/black hat business. This is a black hat/black hat business in which one of the black hats is outrageously annoying and the other one has a mob behind him.

The interesting thing about these lists is how few of the authors you know! And these are LITEROTICA’S most favorite writers.

But there are some giants. We’ve got Wm_Sexspear and G.H.Lawrence who are two of the sites most famous authors. I can’t help but wonder why they are so far down the list.

And KillerMuffin, a former contest winner and 1000 VOTE CLUB member. Then there’s the PILOT, a survivor contest author – he’s surprisingly far down the list given the hundreds of stories he’s written.

But after Miss K and the above noted four I don’t recognize anyone’s name. Which just goes to show you how big the LITEROTICA WORLD really is.
