I’ve deleted nine of my stories in the last week. I had another three I planned to delete yesterday.

Then I read them. The first, “Paul’s Baby”, a Loving Wives story has been on LITEROTICA since May of last year. The other, a two part Incest category story called “Just A Cop’s Cock” came out last August.

Anyway I read them yesterday for the first time in months and to my surprise I found they were much better than I remembered them. Truly scourian master works. So for now at least I’ll leave them up.

Why not try one or both of them – they’re pretty good - I think you just might like them.

This part of Celt's story is quite exciting after the slowness of the previous section of text. I have always enjoyed reading Celt's writing and this story is no exception. I cannot wait to see what Celt now does with Walt's new enthusiasm and discovery. Regarding this story (prior to the present installment) AND Ohio's recent posted story, I have also noted that the more 'classic' very good writers of stories in "Loving Wives" have not posted stories that were as powerful as previously. I agree with 'Harry in VA' on this. I think that maybe one reason for this is the large number of new writers now posting on Literotica. This could be affecting Celt's and Ohio's thoughts. If it were administratively possible, it might be good to have an editorial broad formed overseeing the posting of desirable stories in "Loving Wives." There would be, perhaps as in scientific journals, a group of editors that read and rate stories as acceptable for posting, as acceptable but requiring minor changes, as requiring major revision, and rejected. That way less posting would occur and the effects of the established good authors would not be diluted in the sea of new stories. Just a thought. RAG

I've seen a number of requests for a sequel to this but I don't know, I think this is perfect as it stands. The characters are realistic, the plot is good without deviation and the pacing is perfect.

Your prose is delectable. While I found the story sexually exciting I also wondered what would happen next with Bobby, Patty and their mother. The romantic setting on the Atlantic barrier island did wonders to set these characters free in my mind. I found it as artistically pleasing as I did in other ways.

I tried to pm the Queen the following the other day. She wasn't taking my messages. So I sent it at the end of the NUDE DAY CONTEST INTRODUCTION STORY yesterday.

Dear LAUREL ,

I pm’d you during the HOW TO contest re stories that were entered but which had the voting turned off.

You did reply (which I appreciated by the way) by pointing out CONTEST RULE #10 which states:… Turning off voting on a story at any point - for any reason - disqualifies a submission from any and all contests…

This clearly acknowledged that the story in question couldn’t win the contest. Which I already knew as I was able to figure out that a story without any votes wasn’t likely to have any rating let alone the highest rating.

Your reply however didn’t really address my real question and seeing that another contest is due to start soon (2008 NUDE DAY CONTEST) I thought I’d raise the subject again before more authors use this tactic.

The question is this: If stories are submitted to future contests with the voting turned off will they be allowed into the contest and onto the SPECIAL CONTEST PAGE as if they are legitimate entries even though they aren’t?

Personally I hope they won’t be! For a couple of reasons.

One, we already have far too many entries in most contests and I fear the chance to jump the NEW STORY LINE as well as getting your story displayed for weeks on the CONTEST PAGE will promote others to use this shameful tactic.

It’s also a technique that is a slap in the face to not only you, but also to the authors who have legitimately submitted entries, and, most importantly, to our readers. Readers who’ve been led to believe these are contests in which they determine the winners. Imagine reading a contest story and then when you got to the end of it and tried to vote found you weren’t able to.

You’d probably be a little pissed off. And wouldn’t be very motivated to read (or vote for) another. And given the low level of voting that occurs presently I don’t think this is the best marketing ploy.

I’m hoping that in the contest coming up (and subsequent ones) you will instruct whichever of your minions is responsible for approving contest entries to REJECT any story that has the voting turned off. It’s only fair!

Actually, the forums were open.

I accessed them by going through the Nude Day contest link, Ogg's link, which led me to the forum page.

I was able to find my way around and in and I freely admit that I'm fairly computer illiterate (lol).

Word, accounting packages, Excel, and e-mail is all I know how to do.

I’ve learned (after gabby studied the question and then gave me her findings) that the forums were down for a little while and it wasn’t just yours truly who was being punished.

And I think I know why! Laurel’s spending has finally started to have an effect on the site’s operation. Poor Manu has had to let half the staff go!

And the reason Freddie was allowed on during “the troubles” was because the ROYALS hoped he could bring his accounting knowledge to bear.

You know, if they had only followed my advice...the advice I gave them a long, long time ago.

Here it is – part of the first SUGGESTION I made on this thread:

And hey, if more money is needed for these improvements we could also start charging for posts made on Forum boards.

Let’s say we give everyone 365 free posts a year. Then charge a lump sum of $20 per annum for the next 1000 posts. So, for a measly twenty bucks a Literotican could average 4 posts a day every day of the year. For any posts that exceeded the limit we could charge ten cents a post (less than the cost of a cigarette).

I don’t think it’s necessary to point out the obvious advantages of this pay as you play system.

Now given the inflation that’s raging in the country we might have to up the charges a bit – let’s make the lump sum amount $50 per annum and then charge 25 cents for every excess post. Hell everyone can afford this. Just think of the money you’re saving by being at home talking dirty on your computer and not driving your car around suburbia.

This way Manu will be able to hire back the staff he’s axed. The forums will live on. Happiness will bloom in AHland….

…and Laurel won’t have to cut back…

I grew up in Miami. My dad’s a Cuban, a man who at twenty-one risked his life to escape the tyrant, arriving in Florida with nothing but the clothes on his back. So I know Cuban politics. I know Fidel. Dad’s an exile. He’s an American now of course but he’ll always be an exile from that island just over the horizon from us. I’m called a Cuban/American but I’m really just an American. Oh, I want to see Cuba free, I want to visit a free country with my dad some day. And we will. Eventually.

So as you can imagine, Cuban politics dominated discussions in our house when I was growing up.

My mom, who’d met my dad as an eighteen year old when she was on a vacation to Cuba, who’d got pregnant with me one moonlit evening on Varadero Beach, raised me alone for my first two years…then joined dad in Miami when he escaped.
