The Science of Mask Wearing

I am glad that you could fins so many sources that bolster you bias.

This must make you feel very happy; vindicated even.

Kudos.

"CDC is still studying the effectiveness of different types of masks and will update our recommendations as new scientific evidence becomes available."

That sounds like settled Science to me.

Let me ask you since you have done so much research, are the cloth masks being sold as efficient as surgical masks?

Efficient? do you mean effective? My personal opinion is without knowing exactly what each mask your comparing is I would have no idea. As someone who has worked professionally for over three decades in a related field that requires respiratory protection for certain aspects of work...n95 masks are very effective at particulate capture during respiration and at keeping particulate out of the respirating persons lungs. I've got direct experience with masks way more effective than n95's and I don't wear one for covid in public...rather, I use a multi-layer cloth mask. it is good enough. I do this because n95's are needed by first responders and medical professionals who are on the front lines. The reason the public is being asked not to use n95's and to use cloth masks is to ensure a supply chain to medical personal. Remember how hard it was for them to get masks back in March and April?

Here is a link to this that is useful:
https://www.news-medical.net/health/The-Size-of-SARS-CoV-2-Compared-to-Other-Things.aspx

Virus particulate size varies and in most cases requires a carrier...respiratory droplets. When these droplets exit the mouth they are mostly at much larger sizes that evaporate/disperse into the air into smaller droplet sizes over time/distance. This is why cloth masks work, they can capture enough of these larger droplets, close to the face, to make a significant difference. Not all mask material are equal at doing this...thats way the scarf like masks have not much efficacy...they are too thin and the cloth weave isn't adequate.

The cdc is constantly re-evaluating masks...that is how science works...constant evaluating, re-testing and updating. Its not just made up information as some would believe...

....the same process/systems that brings you your computer, cell phone, wifi/blue tooth technology are at work on the cover vaccines and all through out medicine and medical research, including studying mask efficacy.

You can also add a link to the CDC report released Friday that recommends wearing a cloth mask anytime one in inside and not at home.

Edit: it is referred to here...https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/12/04/cdc-mask-guidance-indoors/

The CDC does not update their website over the weekend, so the report although released, hasn't caught up yet on their website. Give it a few days.

Or another reference

yep...I've got a news link and will update the cdc link when they have it up.

“JUST WEAR THE MASK,” the CDC said on Twitter on Saturday.

“Cover your mouth AND nose,” the agency continued, citing public health precautions it has repeatedly recommended, this time with a new sense of urgency.

The CDC recommends people stay six feet apart, wash hands and stay home when possible.

“Cases are rising fast,” the agency warned. “If we don’t act together and do what we can to slow the spread, thousands more could die.”

Gee? Science and history
How did we beat the Spanish Flu?

Some cities pulled the same shit back then not learning from the cities that got hit first

D-Day.

One of the bloodiest days in any war the US has been involved in. Just over 2500 Americans died in one day.

Over the last week and half, we have had MORE deaths each day due to covid. That's right. More Americans have died EACH day due to covid, than D-Day. We are experiencing D-Day every day.

Who will erect their memorial?

It's a sad day in both regards. Historically significant and sad.

This week's covid deaths are a extreme tragedy. Maga may actually have more meaning as we continue down this death March...I love my Country, where I live and my neighbors and it is hard, during times like these, to see any greatness here.
