In what many civilizations called the "Apocalypse" or "Judgment Day", the world nearly came to an end. Followed by sonic bombardments from space that lasted several hundred years, it drove every sentient being underground - where the hard crust of the planet was used as a "filter" to the ear-piercing sounds.
What caused this? The so called "Apocalypse".
This apocalypse was the result of alien contact that resulted in an interstellar war. The aliens obviously won...compared to the aliens advanced technology, we seemed primitive to their ways. We had only begun to scratch the surface of advanced technology. These aliens eventually destroyed everything in sight so we could not be a threat to them, even taking humans for experiments or to their deaths.
One day, some several hundred years later, the sonic bombardment seemed to cease. Humanity - or what was left - emerged from underground again. Like our ancient ancenstors, we were once again primitive beings... No technology, no tools, not even any clothing. Speech was not a problem, it was the lack of tools that provided for clothing or housing.
Either as a result of the hundreds of years of sonic noise, or because humanity's mind could not comprehend what happened - we lost all ability to be civil beings. Men began taking women for their own, raping them in the depths of forests, jungles and swamps - wherever it was most fertile. Men would kill other men if they invaded one's territory - no questions were asked.
This was our life now... and we experience it.
