The Salem Witch Trials

I'm involved into too many threads now or I'd turn up the heat on this one

Trinity...

OOC:
Well since no one else is game I'm gonna jump in. Hope nobody takes offense?

IC:
Trinity scrambled finding a small hiding space underneath some bushes. She was panting furiously and she knew she must look a complete mess. She desperately tried to hold her breath as she heard the sound of shouting nearby. Footsteps crashing carelessly through the shrubs.

"She went this way! HURRY! Get the witch... burn the witch!" The piercing voices yelled. She winced. She tried to scrunch herself into a small ball. She was petrified.

She was just trying to help that woman. She had complained desperately of pains in her stomach. She had offerred to make her a soothing tea... but when she had went to deliver it the woman's husband had entered and tried to attack her! She was still stunned by that. What was happening in this world where people had such hatred and anger inside them?

She finally focused on the sounds again. The yelling had gone. Had they passed? Given up? She was too scared to move just yet. She waited. Resting her head on her knees... her arms still tight around her legs. She felt so tense. Finally she must have dozed off, because the next the she knew it was cold and dark.

It must be safe now. She was so stiff from her uncomfortable position, but she couldn't complain. At least she was still alive. Cautiously she peered out from between two branches. With a quiet whimper of pain. She felt her stiff muscles ache as she crawled out of her hiding spot.

Ooc: Didn't read the Crucible, but it don't take no good learnings to be a part'n a thread. (spit)
Lol, let's shake some things up.

He saw her, in the bushes. He ran at full force, and tackled her down.
Garret screamed, "She's over here."
She wiggled under his strength, trying to get away, "Shh, don't make a sound. Come on, follow me."
He took her arm, and ran for his barn. She followed.
Garret (a name for this time period by the way, abotu damn time) closed the barn doors gently, and look onto the crowd coming up the hill.
"She went to the well. She is gonna poison our water. Get her! GET HER!!!!"
The crowd ran over the hill, and down the path of the forest. It would take them an hour to sober up, and feel like this was a lost cause.
Garret smiled, walking back inside the barn.
It wasn't big, but he knew there were lots of hiding places. If she wanted him dead, he would be.
"I don't want to hurt you... you had quite a scare out there. I apologize for the townsmen, they don't take kindly to... anything that they don't think is right."
There was a long pause, the barn felt empty, alone. He wondered if maybe she had run out, "The townspeople will be after you for a while, and if any of them know you, they will be on the lookout until you are caught."
Was there movement in the hay? He couldn't tell for sure, "Well, it is getting late. I live alone, and have an extra bed for you ( this is all sounding familiar, a lady in peril, and a lonely guy with a house brings her in??? Wild Wild West????)
... if you would like it."
He didn't hear a reply. Garret shrugged his shoulders, and opened the barn door.

A Goodwife

Looking out of my cottage front door as the mob ran past I shouted "What is it?"
From amid the angry rumbles I heard a louder shout come back
"Witch Hunt, Margaret!"
Nodding sharply as if in approval I retreated back into the sanctury of my kitchen.
Muttering to myself running down a mental check-list I made sure everything in my home looked respectable. I knew that if they didn't find the poor girl they would come searching every cottage, hen house, out house and dog house between here and the river.
Running my hand along the back of my dresser I reassured myself that the hidden door was latched.

(OOC: thought I'd throw in some Fugitive)

*As He Heard The shouts he shook his head, Imbiciles, If they were Looking for witches this was the wrong place, there wasent a Coven within two hundred Miles Of this Town, He swiftly moved through the trees to See who it was, And if there really might be a bearer of the Wicca Power...His eyes shadowed by the thick overbrush as he approached the two, leaping from tree to tree with almost cat like grace, And he stopped in one, his eyes glittered a Yellow Color, These People were so far away from finding real witches that he almost pityed them, he watched Garet and Trinity with curious, almost cat like eyes as he waited for her responce, he would find out later if she might have that hidden power....*

(heh, I thought I'd add a lil' bit of Sorcery, not too much, Just enough to make this a little bit more interesting, i'll add another char later thats gonna be REALLY COOL but for now, i'll stick with this one...)

She knows the girl is good but her magic is a curse from the Gods.Only those mindless fools would says this was the work of satan ...I will show them what a witch really is as she cackles into the night..

Celestial, dude, you just totally ruined the mood she was going for.... Lol, no I am kidding. It doesn't matter, she doesn't need a name yet... this is just getting started after all.

Garret grabbed a lantern, heading into the darkened house.
"Margaret, you in here?"
She seemed startled, "Oh... yes Garret. I am here."
He looked at her, something did have her spooked, "So, you know."
She nodded, lowering her head. Garret motioned for her to follow him, "I have her. She's in my barn, and I think she needs help."
He didn't know if he saw fear, or confusion, or maybe a mixture of both, but he difinitally knew she need more information.
"The witch they are after. I hid her in my barn. Something is wrong, she is spooked something awful, can you help me?"
Margaret didn't want to go, he saw he draw back to the wall.
Then she stepped forward, "Yes, come on. Lead the way."
They made out into the night.

*Roland had already discovered her form in the barn and was silently watching her from his pertch in the rafters, he would need to go soon, but not just yet...He couldnt go with that farmer around...He would either have to keep him silenced...or work his magic on him...he was prepared to do both if he didnt co-operate..*

Ooc: I like where you are going with this Roland, but remember. The title of this thread is the Salem Witch TRIALS, not the Salem Witch escape...

Trinity...

Trinity felt numb with fear. She huddled now in the dark corner of the barn. That man had left her for now... but she couldn't say for sure if he was going to help her or turn her in. She was so frightened. At least the barn itself was a comfort... warm and dry... it reminded her of childhood... days filled with sunshine and laughter. Her face softened for a moment in memory until she realised that those days had long since gone. The pinched look returned to her features.

She cocked her head slightly... and sniffed the air... she glanced upwards into the dark. She blinked... but everything remained still... silent. She sighed... trying to hide herself deeper into the corner... wishing she could just dissolve into the wall or something. But NO... she had to be strong... she should really try and get out of this place... but where to run? Where those people still out their? Pitchforks and flames ready to kill her without any fear or remorse? She shivered at the thought.

Trinity cursed herself for bringing the tea. Even now she wasn't sure who had started the mob currently trying to run her down. Could be anyone... she couldn't understand why... had she unconciously hurt someone? Done something? She kept mostly to herself... but even that was cause for suspicion these days.

She really had to move... she had to have a plan... something...

She took a deep breath and crawled tentatively forward...

*His eyes glittered as he saw her finally crawl Forward, he spoke to her from above, his tone silky, seductive, and wonderous* Good Evening Childe...*he smiled as he leaped from the rafters and landed on his two feet, smiling softly at her*

Garret ran in, standing between the two.
"Don't touch her," his eyes glared at Roland (thats your name isn't it? well I will change if it isn't).
"I didn't mean to harm her, quite the opposite. I want to help."
Garret shook his head, "Dunk her in the water, see if she floats? Burn her like a proper witch should be burned? That's no help. Get out of here."
The man stood back, "I know she is a witch, and I know you want only to help her. The problem is, I am the only one who can help her right now."
Garret kept his eyes on the man, unblinking, "She stays here. Here she is safe."
"For how long? You and I both know as soon as those villagers don't find a witch, they will come back. You have already brought enough suspicion to yourself. I wouldn't be surprised if this barn wasn't the first place they looked."
Gary lowered his head, he was right. He was the one who told the villagers where to go. They would come back here.
As if to answer this a few cries of Witch came from the forest.
"Quickly, we must go."
Garret nodded, "All right, but I stay by her side."
"Fine, whatever, now follow me."
He gently grabbe her arm, "Don't worry, I am here to help."
He realized he didn't even know her name. There wasn't time for those informalities now, they had to move, and quickly.
