The Real Problem with the White Oscars

Not sure if this is a baiting thread or otherwise.
But it reminds me of the double standards of a handful of the Litsters with regards to gender identity issues or sexual orientation :

- they accuse people of being bigotted re this issues, over some ridiculous things. And then they engage in witch-hunting.

- on the other hand, they suspect almost every n00b of being female impersonators. And even if those n00bs are clearly uninterested in relationships or pm's, so they would pose no potential danger -- they're still harassed and treated in such a derrogatory and demeaning manner…

And we're the biggots, whereas they are the kumbaia progressives...:rolleyes:
OK, I had my rant, so I won't poison the atmosphere any longer.

It's a kind of I'm bored thread as well as baiting the #blackliversmatter crowd.

;)

They seem to be a very insensitive lot towards anyone else who faces discrimination.

How can Spike Lee consider himself more special than Bruce Jenner?

How stupid would it be to force Chris Rock out unless they plan on replacing him with someone who more truly represents diversity?

The new Director of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre wants to give more roles in Shakespeare plays to women.

In Shakespeare's time all female roles were played by boys. While the boys were good, they didn't have the acting experience or range of the older men, so the female roles are usually not as demanding or prominent. The male roles have more lines, more scenes and more of the dramatic moments.

So the new director wants to consider having women take on some of the major male roles - Hamlet, Macbeth, Othello, or possibly even an all-female cast for some plays.

Whether it will work? Time will tell. It won't be a first. Women have played major male roles in Shakespeare before as far back as the early 19th Century.

But dramatic Shakespeare roles for women are limited.

He is flogging something.

I am going to miss watching all the privileged white people acting surprised when the envelope is torn and their gold thing is presented.

Its Britain; Shakespeare will be outlawed by Summer.
