The real man...who is this? What makes up a real man...I think I know....he must have a sensitive side but also be aggressive. The nuturer is not just from women but also from men. he must have a funny side but still have his wits. Physical strength is a plus however emotional fortitude goes a much longer way. Can you sweep her off her feet each day just because? Can your attention be placed upon that something beautiful you have in your life. Do you know when it is time to let go and when the time to fight has come? A real man can handle himself on his feet and off of them but at the same time can let his guard down and be vulnerable. i believe myself to be a real man, and I know there are many of us out there...stand up, be heard...Real men make the best partners and lovers and friends.

I think there are a "What Men Are" and a "What Men Were" group, and the "What Men Were" group is pretty much ashamed of the "What Men Are" group.

Sorry, but what the Hell is a METROSEXUAL???? Why the hell does a guy act gay to get a girl? To show he's sensitive?

I'm sensitive to women, I don't want to hurt them, I don't want anyone to hurt them, I want them to be happy, but doesn't mean I've got to learn to Cook like a French Chef, clean like Mr. Clean, and Cry when Susan Lucci doesn't get an emmy.

The Real man is a man is concerned for a woman/his family and what he can to help them meet their full potential, whether the woman wants to be June Cleaver Home Maker or a Brain Surgeon/Astronaut.

Real men don't rape, don't hate women, they respect women. Real men are chilvarous, opening doors, PUTTING THE F'N SEAT BACK DOWN, even wiping it off if necessary.

I like classical music because it's good, but some of the mood music IMHO sucks.

I'd rather listen to dirty blues guitar riffs than Enya, but you know what, if a woman likes Enya more power to her, but if she wants me to listen to Enya she better be willing to listen to Megadeth when I feel like ROCKING HARD! (okay Megadeth isn't that hard.)

Men can be emotional, they can't be ruled by their emotions, and you don't have to be emotional about movies? Be emotional when things that effect your relationship occur.

Sorry I can't cry at "Steel Magnolias" it's a movie, I don't cry at "Aliens -VS- Predator" either THEY'RE MOVIES!

Real men can compromise, but are firm when they need be. Men need to learn that many women are ruled by their emotions, while men are more logical. But men must consider a womans emotional needs when using logic.

It's not easy, it's not supposed to be, but don't just give up.

Well said, I must admit. Give me Steve Vai or Stevie Ray Vaughn over Enya any day...unless I am trying to sleep anyway. Metrosexuals are not bad though. That term has so many meanings that are not correct at all. The metrosexual man simply cares about his looks, IE putting lotion on his arms to prevent the rough elbows that women all hate. But yeah, I think that how things are going with the men of today would probably upset the men of yesterday however, how many men can ever say they saw their fathers cry? When I was little I learned that it was ok to show feelings. My dad on the other hand was not, but he made it clear that sometimes, it is perfectly ok to show feeling. I think that is a big deal now for some people. How you show love, saddness, and then the big one...anger. I like how you talked about chivalry...sometimes I think that is dead. Nice to know there are at least 2 chivalrous men out there...now where are the women that want us?
