The real Betticus

There's a petite little white-and-torbie with the most crystal-clear, pale blue, massive eyes I've ever seen...that lives on our front porch. We're 99% sure that she was owned by someone here in the neighborhood, and when they moved out they just left her here to fend for herself. She meows when we speak to her (feral cats don't often do this) and will let us pick her up (ditto) and rolls over on her back to get us to pet her belly (ditto ditto).

We put out food and water for her but Mister has vetoed us keeping her permanently, which breaks my heart because she's got the sweetest nature and is very affectionate. I'd love to make a youtube video of her and find her a home. The shelters here in Muskogee are SHIT and aren't worth the tax dollars, to be frank, so I'm terrified of the prospect of taking her there and them putting her down in a month or two because no one wants to take her.

I go outside every day for at least 10 or 15 minutes just to pet her and talk to her. She's gotten so comfortable with us now she'll play, very very gently with no claws. When she's on her back, she'll grab my hand with all four feet (no claws) and very gently love bite my hand, barely gripping the skin for a fraction of a second, then letting go. She's so soft with me I know she's just playing and not trying to be aggressive at all. I think it's freaking cute.
