A dark sky was cast overhead. A most unusual sight in this realm. Not much so for the Overlord, Oaid. His dark eyes, with a hint of a sadistic flame to it, gazed upon the empty hallowed Fields of Time before adjusting to the sight before him....
-------------------------------------------------
The Tower of Time.
Here, the Maiden of the Sacred Hourglass was kept; for all these eons the Maiden Isis stayed, away from danger. Her loyal servant (who was gifted with an immortal life, but retained the characteristics of a mortal), Boranth tended to her every need - but his carnal desires flooded his senses one day - and contacted the Overlord, Oaid.
Oaid was the lord of every malevolence known to even the Immortals. Pain, Hatred, Fear, Destruction - just a few of his powers. His longest desire was to overthrow the Maiden Isis in her Tower of Time, but never was he allowed to with the Sacred Hourglass in her possession. The Sacred Hourglass was her responsibility, it was created solely for keeping the evil of Oaid out.
But Boranth once made a journey into the wastelands of Valax - there he contacted the Overlord. He brought with him tidings of the Mortals: They wished for the suffering to end. No more evil! Cast it out, they wished. From where he sat on his throne a smug grin was clearly upon his face and an evil laughter bursted out, as the Overlord spoke: "What do Mortals have to offer me in return?"
"You can control time.." came Boranth's response, ever so cooly.
This perked Oaid up, which he sat up. "Go on.." he said. From underneath Boranth's shrouds, he revealed a tiny orb, no larger than an inch. It had a faint glow to it. The evil Overlord let his breathing become erratic in anticipation, "It is smaller than I had imagined," he said, wondering out loud. "This," the Mortal began: "is merely a part of the Sacred Orb. It is actually not an orb, but a liquid - if you can believe me. The Orb is merely a vessel. A seed, if you will."
Oaid was already to his feet, stepping toward the Mortal. The man did not budge, as he knew this small of the Orb could do nothing. He handed it to the Overlord who immediately began fondling it, admiring it. "Destroy her precious Hourglass," the Overlord started, casting a gaze to the man. "Then we will see about Mortals ending their suffering."
--------------------------------------------------
Oaid smiled as he sheathed his imperious blade. Many angels and demons had fallen here, though it was clear who the victor was as the Overlord stepped on an angelic general's spine - snapping it, as he started toward the Tower.
It was unfortunate for the Mortal man, Boranth. Though the Overlord did not know that the man was cast out existence by the Maiden, nor did he care. It seems now, Mortals would never be freed of evil. He had obviously been successful in destroying her Hourglass however, otherwise Oaid would not have been able to step onto her Virgin land.
"You will be taken, Maiden - to my tower - and in my bed..." he started, but trailed as he simply grinned as he continued toward her Tower.
