Katherin Renolds was 23 with long blonde hair braided down her back, and dark blue eyes, she was slender of build standing at 5ft 4in, and weighing around 120lbs, she built up muscles in her arms and legs from riding horses, and working on the Ranch.

Katherine’s parents had died in a car wreck leaving the Ranch in Montana to both her and her older brother Tom, but it had wound up being Katherin who took over the job, and moved in. Her brother wanting nothing to do with it because he had a family of his own and a good job they hadnt spoken sence.

It had been three years since she had taken over repairing the house.. Fixing up the stables and fences.. It had taken everything she had to get that far, but unfortunaly it wasn’t enough.

She needed a partner to help with the horses and a crew, or the bank was going to take the Ranch from her. They already had a few buyers up for the property, and Katherin didn’t know what she was going to do.

She had even thought about selling and asking the owner to allow her to stay and run the place for them, but it was damn hard to think about giving up her parent’s home to anyone even if she were allowed to stay.

Saddling up her horse she road out to check the fences to see if that blasted stallion had knocked down another post or jumped fence again to get into their neighbors field what was his name again??

Damned if she could remember the place had belonged to the O' Connor family for as long as she could remember and had been passed down to one of their boys she just couldn’t remember which one. Well she would find out soon if that stallion got out again.

That stallion from the other ranch is in my yard again. The woman who owns the horse comes over to get him everytime he jumps the fence. It's not really a big deal to me because the fence is actually on the edge of her property, not on mine, so any damage caused to the fence is her problem.

I've seen the woman a few times, and she's quite attractive. I've never met her though. I usually have one of my ranchhands go out and get the horse and bring it to the edge of the property so she can get him easily. Today though, I decide to get the horse my self.

Getting the horse is no problem for me. I'm able to get him and lead him to the edge of the edge of the property, where I find that a section of the fence has been destroyed. I can see the woman on her horse coming up to the fence. At least I finally get to meet her.

Samantha Renolds

Name: Samantha Renolds {Tom's Wife}
Age: 24
Blonde Hair
Green eyes
5'6 height, 136 weight
Full breasted, slim waist, firm toned body.

The flight hadn't been to bad although long and tiring Sam couldn't wait to make it to the ranch. She had to let Kat know what was going on, it had only been a month since Tom's death. Sense then things just hadn't been the same going from a comfortable secure life to having nothing anymore. Everything they had owned went to pay for the extravigant debts that Tom had procured during their marriage. Something Sam had not known about, nor had she known about the other woman.

That had been the hardest part, Tom had always made it clear that Sam wasn't allowed to talk or have friends. Even going so far as to move her away from his sister, her best friend Kat. Three long years, she hadn't spoke to Kat or been home, home where she was heading now. She wondered if Kat would accept her coming home or if she would throw her out.

Giving instructions to the cab driver sitting back in the seat letting her head rest with her eyes closed. This was going to be hard, Kat didn't even know that she was the only one left in her blood family. But family were those whom you called family, the ones who stayed by your side and was there when you needed them. Although the cab ride was a long one it didn't seem to be long enough. Sam didn't know what she was going to say when she seen Kat but as the gates of the old ranch could be seen she knew it would be soon enough.

OOC: Sorry I forgot my age in there so had to add it in...

Kathern stopped her horse looking at the damage he had done to the fence and cursed. There went another 50$ for posts, and 30$ for fencing.. its going to take me all day by myself to get the mares over to the other pasture...looking up she saw that one of the hands had gathered the horse for her and brought it to the property line once again.

Dismounting she strode forward an extra lead rope in her hand she had never seen this man before he must be new to the O'Connor's Ranch she thought.

Taking in Short brown hair, green eyes, muscular build Kathern didnt think he looked bad at all.. ohh hell Kat get your thoughts away from there you dont have time for any of that she thought.

Thank you for getting this rascal for me... As you can see i cant seem to keep him pinned. You must be new.. My name is Katherin Renolds... She said meeting his Green eyes with her blue, as she used the lead rope hooking it around the stallions head so she could lead him back to the stables until she could get the fence fixed. The last thing she needed was for him to tear down more fencing before she got the other horses moved.

Once again ya have my thanks....if you could tell Mr O'Conner thank you for me i would appreceate it, and that if there was any damage done i'll take care of it. she said leading the stallion over to her horse picking up her rains and gathering them in her hands before mounting.

Name: George Williams ( Ranch Hand )
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 190lb
Dark hair, brown eyes, average build

George was a good ranch hand the last place he’d worked at had made him top hand, but he was in need of a change after 5 years at the same ranch. He’d applied at the ranch next to this one but there were no jobs going there. The top hand there had suggested that he try this ranch as they were always having to return a stallion to the owner that kept breaking her fence and ending up in the yard of the other ranch.
He wasn’t rich but he’d been careful with his money so he didn’t have to work but he wasn’t the sort of guy that could just do nothing all day. From what he’d heard at the other ranch this place could do with somebody to help out.
He rode into the yard which was deserted. “Anybody home” he called. Getting no reply he dismounted and tied his horse to a rail before washing the road dirt off himself in the horse trough. He decided to wait until somebody showed, he’d travelled enough for one day. Even if they didn’t want him to work here at least he might be able to get a bed for the night.

"Thank you for getting this rascal for me... As you can see i cant seem to keep him pinned. You must be new.. My name is Katherin Renolds..."

She must not know that I am the owner of the ranch. "Yeah, I can see where he could be a bit of handful." I hold the horse so that she can prepare him to be taken back to the stables.

"Once again ya have my thanks....if you could tell Mr O'Conner thank you for me i would appreceate it, and that if there was any damage done i'll take care of it."

"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Jay O'Connor. There was no damage done to any of my property, but I can see that you've got some trouble on your hands with that fence."

This woman, Ms.Renolds, is a natural beauty. She's got a strong looking body, probably from years of working with and riding horses. Her face is amazing, with those blue eyes.

"I have some free time today, right now actually. I would be more than happy to help you repair that fence. I have the materials in my storage shed. I can also get a stablehand or two to help with your other horses while we work on the fence. Sound like a good deal?"

Katherin's jaw dropped in slight shock at realizing her mistake in thinking the man in front of her was a hired hand. Looking at his clothing she wondered why she hadn’t seen it sooner. Recovering quickly she shook her head and met his eyes

I am sorry Mr. O'Connor.. I didn’t realize it was you, and yes I would appreciate some help with this fence. I'll meet you back here in one hour that will give you time to gather your men, and me time to get this stallion back to the stables. The mares are on the far side of the pasture so I should have plenty of time to get back here before they realize the fence is down. She said with a smile glad to have some help even if it was fixing the fence.

Mounting and turning her horse back to the Ranch she led the stallion behind her. Riding back she whipped her face with the bandanna in her pocket it was late May and she could tell from the heat that already beat down that they were due for a hot summer this year.. This would probably mean a drought.

Riding up to the gate in the fence that lead to the pen outside the stables she watched a man dismount from his horse and call out asking if anyone were home. Just as a taxi cab pulled up into the yard in front of the house. Dismounting she opened the gate and took the lead rope off of the stallions neck placing him in the pen for now.

Leading her horse by the rains over to the house she smiled, and waved seeing Sam get out and then her eyes narrowed if Sam were here that meant her good for nothing brother would be with her. When she didn’t see Tom get out with her she wondered what was wrong... but knew that the answer to that would have to wait until later when she was done talking to this gentlemen and the blasted fence was fixed. Hello Sam welcome home she said knowing that Sam would guess she would talk with her later in privet.

Hello I am Katherin Renolds and this is my Ranch can I help you? She asked as she moved forward and tethered her horse next to his.

I have been working with horses since I was old enough to walk. Growing up on a Tenn. Walking Horse farm. I learned to shoe them, start them under saddle, teach them to guide and perfect their gait. Later around 20 I became interested in rodeo and rode bronc's for awhile before finally settling on a large horse farm in Kentucky on a race horse farm. I learned the thorough breds brought what I had learned from walking horses with me. It was a small farm that won small allowance races and finally I trained a horse that won a stakes race which was the highpoint of my career. It all came crashing down when the horse was bought by a large farm and my employer sold everything getting out of the horse buisness. I began wandering the different horse farms looking for work without much luck. I had finally bought a little land and started back raising walking horses but I still had the desire to play the "Sport of Kings". It was this day that brought me to a small farm looking for work or horses to work. I was willing to shoe or do whatever was needed around the farm to supplement my own income to purchase a racer. My first sight was a woman leading a horse that appeared to have gotten through her fence and into a neighbor's yard. I approached the woman with a smile extending my hand.

Katherin smiled only sligthly startled at seeing not one man as she had thought but two. Nodding she accepted the hand that was offerd Sorry i didnt see you a few moments ago. How can i help you both? She asked looking at the two well built men infront of her.

The first one she had noticed earler was a little taller then her he was around 5"9 5'10 she would guess with dark hair and brown eyes. The second was much taller around 6ft which at them moment was what she noticed most about him, both looked like capable workers but she doubted they were here for jobs.

Still smiling as she waited for them to reply she looked over at Samantha.. Hey Sam you ready to get dirty i gotta get back up to the north pasture in 30mins to fix the fence Mr. O'Conner has offered to help and is gathering some men to help with the horses. That blasted stallion is giving me problems again. She said with a grin.

Most people new she was down and out on her luck, and If the ranch was up and going the way it needed to be then hell ya she would hire these two in a heart beat but the truth was she didnt have anything but room and board to offer them for their work, and alot of people wouldnt work for that.

Hello I am Katherin Renolds and this is my Ranch can I help you? She asked as she moved forward and tethered her horse next to his.

"Hello I'm George Wiliams, I was told at the ranch over the way that you could probably do with some help over here. I've been top hand for a number of years but the owner died and the new owner brought in all his own men so we all had to move on. I've been travelling for over a week and could do with somewhere settled to live. Although I was top hand at my other place I'm quite happy to work as a normal hand unless you want a top hand," George replied.
"I see the stalion has been giving trouble again as they said at the other ranch, Would you like me to stable him and check him over?" He asked

As you can see ... i can use all the help i can get, Mr. Williams and your help would be very much appreceated, but you must know that i have nothing to offer ether of you save for room and board. It is something you should think about, and if your of a mind ta take the job then by all means good luck with that stallion he's a spirited one. She said being honest with them up front so that they new what to expect.

Watching them both of the men infront of her to see if they would stay or continue to look else where for jobs. Katherin new that there were plenty of other Ranches around here, but as they said there wasnt too many of them that were looking for help the choice was theirs to make.

"Well Miss, room and board will do me for the moment, maybe when we get the ranch running well we can think about other arrangements. I've been careful with my earnings so I can afford to take up your offer," George told her. "Now if you'll tell me which stall the stallion goes in I'll see to him," he added going over to the horse and patting him.

"There now were going to be the best of friends aren't we?" he asked the stallion in a gentle sort of cooing voice. The stallion pricked his ears up at the sound of George's voice and turned his head towards him. George rubbed the horses nose then taking the lead rope from Katerin, lead the peacful horse towards the stables.

Sam

Waving to Kat as I pay the cab driver handing him a pretty nice tip, before turning back to Kat and the gents standing about her. Hearing Kat's question Sam looks down at her denim shorts and tank top. Thank god she had dressed for the weather thinking the only thing she would actually need to change would be the light weight sandals on her feet into boots or tennis shoes.

"Sure Kat give me a moment, which room is mine?" Hearing Kat's reply smiling as she realizes that Kat has put her back into the room that was always saved for her. "You look to be slightly busy, I'm going to take my bags upstairs and be right back." Looking at the man walking the stallion back to the barn noticing with a smile his talking to the horse and the responce Damion gave him. Giving a holler his direction, "Hey guy wanna do me a favor and sadle that beast your walking, he looks to need a good riding. And I happen to know Damion won't throw me to far, he likes the sugar cubes I carry with me." Grinning to myself, thinking there had always been only one person that could tame that beast. Even Tom hadn't had a chance with Damion, it confused Tom as to why the horse took to Sam so well but he never knew about the sugar cubes.

Turning on my heel grabbing the bags at my feet making a bee line into the house and up the stairs. Quickly changing my shoes preferring the boots over tennis shoes, I was home. Although I knew later that Kat would want to talk and I would have to tell her the whole story, I knew there was no love lost between the brother and sister. But Kat and I had always been best friends we had even joked that our mothers had switched children so her mother would have a son and daughter and my mother would have a daughter. It was time to get back to my roots, and this just thrilled me to no end.

Heading back out the door I stand on the porch watching the gents all around Kat, smiling and shaking my head wondering which one would finally catch Kat's attention. All three men seemed quiet taken with Kat, giving her their full attentions but as always Kat didn't even pick up on it. Sometimes I thought Kat was the one who gave all blondes the bad name.

Stepping off the porch walking out to the men and Kat, giving her a quick hug of hello. Before looking to the men sizing each of them up slowly, not to bad of a start thinking this to myself. "Your all hired, now that, thats settled we need to show you where the spare rooms are in the house. We would normally use the bunk house but right now with the few of us. The house will work for all of our needs. " Hearing a small gasp of surprise from Kat at my words, I turn smiling to her, "don't worry hun its covered we will talk about it later ok. Right now you said something about getting my hands dirty?"

I look at the lady and think, wow she is very attractive, but keep that to myself. She explains that she can't afford to offer more than room and board in return for work. I think to myself that maybe we might work out something more. "Well, Katherin it seems that I might be able to help you generate some funding if we can work out a profit split." I watch for her reaction looking to see if she thinks I'm full of horse shit. "Do you already have a ferrier on staff if not I can shoe your horses and save you alot of money. In fact I can probably improve your horses a good bit." I pause for a few more seconds allowing her to think about it. "What type of horse farm do you want here anyways? Do you want race horses, western, hunter jumper, dressage, riding lessons, rented trail horse or do you just want to breed? I assure that I have done it all minus the hunter jumper and dressage? I will be glad to do whatever but yes a room would be great."

I go back to my stables where I tell two of my stable workers about the situation. I tell them to get over there and help Ms. Renolds with her horses. I load up the old Ford pickup with the material needed to fix the fence and drive out to the broken spot in the fence. I begin to fix the fence on my own. I don't mind light manual labor, and I don't like waiting to do something when I can just go ahead and get started now.

“Give me 10 minutes Miss to give him a rub down after his visit to the next farm, then I’ll saddle him and have him ready for you,” George replied. “He’s quite quiet now so I won’t be to long,” he added.
George entered the stables and found the grooming brush, giving the stallion a good rub down before looking for his saddle and bridle. The stables were bare so George assumed that all the horses except for the one Miss Katherin rode were kept out in the pasture. He found the saddle and bridle by a sign labelled Damion as Sam had called him that they must be for him. He quickly saddled the stallion and as he walked back out to the yard with him saw Sam stepping off the porch.

“If there’s work to do, my horse is already to ride,” George told them. “That’s if you need any help,” he added. Because Katherin had returned with the stallion on a lead rope he assumed that some fencing needed repairing. He wasn’t afraid of hard work and knew the importance of keeping the fencing secure.

Talking to the man in front of her as Sam went inside with her bags, and George took Damion into the stables, she answered his question her expression serious as she thought about what he had asked blue eyes meeting his as she tipped her head back to look at him.

She wasn’t sure if he were serious about becoming a partner or not, and nether was she sure she was ready to take one, but she decided to at least think on it. If nothing she was doing was working then she would need to do something.

Then too Sam was home, and Tom wasn’t with her any longer, before she decided anything she new that Samantha and her needed to talk.

I am looking to Breed the horses mainly, but I have also been thinking that giving ridding lessons, and trail rides will help build up the money we need to get this place back on its feet. Once were up, and going again I will think about maybe training some Race horses, but for now well there is no guarantee of a win and we need the money to bad to take the chance.

Katherin smiled at Sam when she walked up stopping the conversation George not far away, and told the men they were hired, knowing that she would explain everything later and was glad to have her back, she didn’t question Sam telling the men they were hired if she said it was covered she new it was.

Looking back at the two men as George chimed in with Samantha that they were ready to get to work she smiled and said. Gentlemen this is my sister Samantha Renolds... Welcome to the Renolds Ranch.. George you have the job as Head Forman and you sir. Have the job as Ferrier she said looking at the 6ft man who had yet to give her his name.

Turning to her horse gathering the rains she said. I need one of you to stay here and make sure the pen is open so that when Mr. O’Connor’s men heard the horses in they can be taken care of. Sam, George if you two will come with me we can help fix the fence.

Looking at the other gent she said Once we have the horse's rounded up and the fence fixed ye’r more then welcome to pick one out of the bunch to use as ye’r own. Damion though is Sam's though he dose need trained better. If I were choosing a race horse he would be my first pick, but then as I said he belongs to Sam. Patting her horse's neck lovingly before mounting she smiled and said. Let’s head out...

“Thank you Miss you’ll not regret it,” George replied. Pleased that she’d seen fit to give him the job he knew how to do well.

George handed Damion’s reins to Sam, and then untied his own horse from the hitching rail. He mounted and waited for Katherin and Sam to mount.

George followed the two girls out of the yard, who were heading to where the fencing needed repair. He wondered just how bad a state the ranch was in, he knew he had a very large balance in the bank but decided that he’d wait and see what happened before offering any monetary help.

Anna Kent

Anna had to admit that the scenery was breathtaking, even though she was dying for an iced latte from Starbucks. Her head buzzed mildly with caffeine withdrawal as she drummed her French manicured nails against the steering wheel. The road seemed to go on forever and there wasn't a sign of a soul for many miles. She was glad that she had a half a tank of gas left and she silently cursed her husband for encouraging her to "take a drive."

John had seemed reluctant to take her on the trip in the first place. A high powered New York lawyer, he was handling a case for one of the largest cattle ranches in the area. The spark, if there ever had been one in their convenient marriage, had sputtered out a long time ago on their six years together as husband and wife. Anna fully suspected that he was having an affair. Oddly, she felt almost indifferent to the whole thing. She worked nearly 60 hours a week as an editor for Knopf and Co. so she really didn' t have much time to either think or worry about it.

She hadn't been on a horse since she was a child but at John's suggestion she decided to find a place nearby where she could take some lessons. The country roads weren't marked very well and it wasn't long before she was lost. The thick clouds gathering in the sky were beginning to look ominous.

Anna spotted a ranch up ahead, and, with a sigh of relief, she pulled into the long, dusty drive. If they couldn't teach her how to ride a horse, they could at least give her directions, she reasoned.

She pulled along the side of the drive. The red Ferrari seemed conspicuously out of place. She stepped out of the car and looked around.

She was dressed in a pair of Guess jeans with stylish but completely impractical high heel Prada boots, the toes coming to a sharp point. She wore a white peasant blouse. A simple sterling silver pendant rested around her neck in an intricate Celtic knot design. Her long, glossy mahogony hair was pulled back in a ponytail. She was in her late twenties. Her eyes were a vivid green, like polished jade. The boots made her look tall but she was actually a petite, slender 5'5.

"Hello?" she called, expectantly, looking around.

Sam

It was great to be back in a saddle, and home. The country was beautiful and as I listened to the light chatter between George and Kat my thoughts wondered off to the old days. Kat and I would race across the fields only to have Tom chase us down yelling at us about leaving the ranch with out someone with us. Maybe that was why I had married Tom, childhood sweetheart and he was several years older then I. It just seemed normal for me to marry him, thinking about it now I could say that it had been a crush nothing more.

"So Kat what has my devil been up to since I was last here?" Laughing lightly at the look Kat throws back to me over her shoulder. I could remember the day he had been foaled the heavens had broke loose letting one terriable storm hit. Flooding the river, it just so happened that Kat and I were out in it. Which was a good thing sense Kat and I had been the ones who had found the mare with her new foal trapped. Needless to say I had taken to the small thing and for some reason he had taken to me. Of course Tom couldn't have that and claimed the horse for himself. Time and time again he would come in from work and catch me out riding his beast, pissing him off to no end.

Looking back to the quiet man beside us, he wasn't to bad to look at his hair was a soft shade of brown making it look like fresh brewed coffee. It was his eyes though that caught my attention, warmth and humor sat within them but there was an intelligence. It let people know that he was sharp with wit, I would almost bet that he would know how to handle a good ranch.

Smiling softly to him, "Hi I am Samantha Renolds sorry we didn't get introduced properly before. Please call me Sam though we don't stand on ceremony here I am afraid. Take Kat for instance, she always has to lead the way, even when we were children she was the one who always got me into trouble."

“If I remember rightly it was always somebody else that led everybody into trouble, it was never me, although every kid blamed someone other than themselves,” George laughed at Samantha’s comment.

“I’m George Williams, and thanks to you and Miss Katherin I’m now the top hand at the Renolds ranch, I answer to George, if you happen to call me Mr Williams it liable to take a few seconds to register that you’re talking to me.” He laughed again enjoying the company of the two girls.

Both girls seemed to be fully relaxed with each other, and he because of this was finding it easy to relax with them. Both of them were good looking blondes, Katherin had obviously worked the ranch for some time, from the strength that appeared in her arms and legs, this didn’t distract from the fact that she had a nice trim figure. Sam on the other hand had a fuller figure, but her slim waist and toned body showed that she worked out often keeping herself in shape. He’d never seem a girl with eyes as green as Sam’s and was intrigued by them, to take his mind off the two girls he asked.

“Miss Katherin, how many horses do you have on the ranch and is Damion the only stallion?”

Penny Hughes

Penelope (Penny) Hughes
Auburn hair, shoulder length, tight curls
Blue-green eyes
age: 19
ht: 5'9"
wt: 155 lbs
build: Athletic. Modest breasts, modest curves to her waist and hips.

Background:

Penny is the daughter of the New York Hughes family, a rich banking dynasty that made its money in the early years of the last century and have only added to it in the intervening years. She is currently "roughing it" in the American West.

IC:

The Range Rover bumped over the rough roads. Penny was grinning widely as she pressed the accelerator down getting a few more RPMs out of the finely-tuned British SUV. To her, this was roughing it. She only had a few days' change of clothes, several weeks worth of beef jerkey, dried fruits, and hard biscuit. She had none of the luxuries of her New York life with her.

She glanced at the GPS unit in the SUV, and smirked. Butt-fuck nowhere Montana. Yes, she wasn't near anything in particular, and the GPS screen was amusingly blank.

What the shit? A Ferrari? She had thought she was out of place out here in the middle of nothingness. Apparently, she wasn't.

She considered stopping, but didn't know anyone at the ranch. Sure, the car had New York plates, but the odds of finding one of her father's friends out here was too remote to consider.

She stopped a little further down the road, in a conveniently empty space of America. She got out, stretched, and walked out a ways with her binoculars.

Cows. Horses. Sheep. Not much else but that out here. Where was the grand wonderous America that she had heard so much about in National Geographic?

She sighed. Well, she was here. Western Hospitality was legendary (she hoped not mythical!) and she didn't really relish the idea of spending another night sleeping in the Range Rover. She walked back to her SUV, brushed dust off her jeans and hiking boots, and crawled back into the driver's seat.

"Hundred damn miles to the next hotel." She smirked at the GPS, which was happily giving her driving directions to the nearest Holiday Inn. She hit the cancel button before it overloaded its processor.

Hearing Sam's comment made her laugh as she recalled that it wasn’t just her who had gotten them into some of the things they had done, but Sam had done her fare share too....

Katherin smiled listening to the two behind her, and she decided she liked George instantly he had an honest easy going manor that she found endearing. It was something most folks had long ago forgotten how to use and Kat appreciated it a lot it let her know more about him than words could say… it let her know she could trust him.

They had been riding for about 15 minuets when she heard George ask his question answering him she said. We originally had about 1,000 head to start off with, but after my parents died everything went down hill. I've had to sell off allot of them just to make repair’s, pay bills, and try to pay off the bank. The last three years have been rough.

I believe were down by half of the original number if not less. I have the records of each and every horse bought and sold in the office at the house in a filing cabinet. When we get back I’ll go over it with ya if ya like.

As for the stallion’s no Damion isn’t the only one, he's just the ring leader, though he seems smart enough not to take the others with him when he decides to knock the fence down, and get out... I think he dose it cas he knows it gets on my nerves.

Looking up ahead she could see the fence as well as Mr. O’Connor as he begin working on it, and his men ridding over to gather the horses and head them in towards the pen’s.

Once they were closer she dismounted knowing that Same, and George were behind her she tethered her horse to the fence allowing her enough slack that she could graze on the grass around her.

Sorry it took me so long… I’d like for you to meet my new Head Forman George Williams, you will probably be seeing him a lot more if Damion gets out again, and this is my sister Samantha Renolds. She said making the introductions as she moved forward to help him with the fence.

I see Katherin ride up with a man and a woman. She dismounts and walks over to me.

I don't give a second look to George, but I take in the other woman, Samantha. Her blonde hair shines in the afternoon sun. She's got a nice body with spectacular full breasts. She must work out. She's a slight bit taller than Katherin.

"Nice to meet you two. I sent two of my people to get your horses. They should be over there by now," I say. I wish that these other two people hadn't come with Katherin. I wanted to be alone with her. "As you can see, I already have a little bit done, so I don't think we need two extra sets of hands, Katherin." I hope she will tell the other woman and the man to go attend to some other job.

George

George dismounted and tied his horse next to Katherin's, he weighed up the owner of the next ranch. He was a few inches taller than George but that appeared to be his only advantage. He didn't appear to be very bright suggesting that he only needed one person to help with the fence.

Obviously Katherin would have the hired hand help rather than her or her sister, while they caught up on what had happened since last they'd seen each other.

From what little he'd seen of the two girls he was sure that Katherin would have all four of them working on the fence to get it finished quicker. He knew she was anxious to hear the news from her sister and the sooner the job was done the sooner they could talk.
