An idea, if someone likes it, feel free to run with it, certainly needs work.
Just married young couple goes to visit family, business is a summer lodge in the Rockies. Young wife and husband are having sex, and finish with her left hanging. Hubby ends up in the wrong closet, finally finds a quilt in an old cedar chest. Being a guy, doesn't really look at it, just brings it out to her. It's not in a normal pattern, it's made of different squares, obviously made by different hands. Several squares have letters on them, many different pictures and icons. She's never seen this quilt before. The room used to be her grandmother's, so later that morning she asks grandmother about it.
Grandmother's always been a spitfire, so she tells her granddaughter that the quilt tells the story of her sex life. Granddaughter brings the quilt and they start to go through the squares. Grandma reminisces and talks about what the things on the quilt mean.
