It went off without a hitch. The ring, the beach, the sunset. Brian held out the ring in a red velvet box. "Will you marry me?" he asked and Amy took the box with the most beautiful smile, admiring the lovely ring.
"I'd love to be your wife, Brian. But I have some conditions," she said plainly.
Brian blinked hard in surprise. "Conditions?"

Oooh! So many possibilities!

I’ll do a couple (more) grounded ones before I slip into the crazy ones:

1. Amy has a lover she isn’t willing to give up. She wants Brian romantically and wants him to be her husband but her lover has to be part of her life. Brian will get to meet and has to accept (maybe even watch or join them in bed) them.

2. Amy has a bucket list that includes a number of sexual acts. Brian has to agree to either let her explore them during the marriage or must help her check them off before they get married


Crazier:

1. Amy is in a cult to an ancient god. The god must bless their union and will “join them” on their wedding night. Whether literal or not, the first night leads to a strange but amazing night of sex and Amy becomes pregnant with a child who she believes will usher in the apocalypse.

2. Amy says Brian must meet her family and obtain their blessings. He agrees and goes with her to a strange manor. While there he meets her sister, who is also Amy and looks just like her…and her mother, who looks just like her. And her aunt, her cousin, her niece, her grandma.

Amy is a living, self-replicating individual spread across multiple beings: for Brian to marry her he must also marry and love all instances of her

This seems like a good start to a "be careful what you wish for" type story.

Her "conditions" all sound awesome: He has to fuck her whenever she wants. He has to let her walk around in lingerie all the time. He needs to have threesomes with her and her girlfriends, etc. He readily agrees to them. Only to regret every single one before long.

What I was thinking was that Amy had grown up, watched her parents relationship stagnate until for lack of attention and regard, Mom cheated. The divorce was a total dumpster fire.
Amy is in love with Brian and wants to marry him. But the idea of monogamy ...
"So, I'm going to just come out and say it. It's an open marriage or nothing."
