It was the year of dragons and there riders, a year of kings and queens in different lands. But unfortunately for a kingdom that is the oldest has seen many foes. And has suffered many casualties, the king at wits end, not knowing what to do. But his bravest warrior he called and asked for his help, the king had pride issues but he knew his kingdom was in need. So he stopped trying to do it himself and asked for help. He was best friends with this man, only 29 and he was the strongest he had. This was a mission that only the king could give him, because he knew he could do it.

The king sent him off into the direction of the oracle, it was said that those not pure of heart would freeze in her sight the oracle over three hundred was wise and did not have her time wasted, but she knew of the problem that plague's the beautiful kingdom. Turning it into nothing but a shadow of its former self. The oracle sits and waits for the right man to do what was trully needed to save this place. It was then she heard someone coming, seeing a man, a young man at that she could feel his strength and smiled and sighed a bit as she made herself known, finally someone pure of heart.

"What do you wish to know boy?" She said in a kind voice

Sigurd MakMorne stood in the Doorway of the oracle's chapel. his long dark hair falling about his shoulders as he looked at the oracle through his cold blue eyes. The man stood a good six foot four, his shoulders broad and heavyset. He held himself with a challenging air, clad in chainmail hauberk, oxhide breeches and heavy thick-soled boots. A heavy broadsword hung at his belt, clapping against his leg as he stepped foward to approach the oracle.

"I am Sigurd... Son of Morne... Warlord and vassal to the king... I come in the spirit of humility, I seek salvation for my homeland... I seek the wisdom of the oracle.... how can I save my people?"

She looked him up and down, her violet eyes grew light she could feel the power within him. "You hold more power then ive ever felt from a lord like you" She said softly as she walked over to the balcony and sighed some, so many things so little time, she sighed some. "There is only one who can help you, but she doesn't know of her powers yet" The oracle slowly turned as her black hair sway as she turned bitting her lip for a moment.

"There is a young girl that has this power she is wise beyond her years, she has powers of all the elements of our universe, her powers are strong her emotions will be her trigger but she is a fast learner and willing to please always, she is a sweet girl her name is unknown but you will find her easily you will feel her power, you may be drawn to her voice, or her looks, she is four days journey but I can get you there in one, the rest of the way you must make on your own by the time she arrives she will be able to help you that I promise you"

The oracle knew a bit more but of course she didn't tell future just how to help, knowing they would become something on the journey a long future but that was if the girl could unleash all of her power and trully use them for good the oracle sighed a bit. "I have already made arrangements for supplies at this village and a horse that will get you there with no problem, go to the stables tell him you come from these lands he will know" She placed her hand on the side of his face.

"The two of you are our future I have faith in both of you" She backed off a bit "Do you wish to go there now? The village name is Pandora, the village is directly west of here, a map will be given as well"

"show me the way to Pandora..." he said grimly, holding out his hand to recieve the map. "If this is as imperitive as you say, then I must make my way there as quickly as possible. You said it was a four day journey... if you hasten it I will be most grateful. Even now the kingdom shakes like a leaf in the wind... recovering for a breif spell from the invading hordes.... There will be little hope left if they strike again."

She nodded as she gave him the map "Well it will take all my strength but I shall take you right to the village you must find her and start back no latter then tomorrow night, good luck and god speed" With a gesture of her hand he vanished, she stumbled a bit but she would be ok within the next day, the spell worked he was outside the gates to Pandora, it was a nice village surrounded by some forest, it was surrounded by a gate and inside was a village with a lot of people, they were peaceful, nice Inn that was nicely priced, a stable and a tavern, a few other buildings for business nothing strange here.

There was a gentle song coming straight ahead that was what greeted him, walking down farther to the center of the village was a young girl, with little kids around her as she sang of a story about the kind king there was a little girl in her arms as she smiled, her song like an angel her green eyes deep and true as she sang she looked up right directly into Sigurd's eyes when she finished the children laughed and left her alone with him.

Sigurd looked around the town, figuring he'd have to stop at the inn eventually... at the moment he became occupied with the goings on of the young girl and her yougner friends. He stood there, his arms crossed over his broad chest as he looked down at the girl.

She seemed nice.... but far too young for his tastes. He glanced off behind her and passed her a few coins for her toubles before going off to search the rest of the town for whoever this mystery woman might be.

She smiled and knew the man from her dreams "I know who you are....Sigurd... Son of Morne" She slowly stood up "I have seen you in my dreams" She spoke softly but with great respect to him, she bowed her head to actually show her respect to him. "I know the king is in trouble ive seen it, but until today I thought it was just a dream but now I realize I saw the future" She spoke kindly.

Sigurd turned and glanced at the girl. He raised an eyebrow, unsure what she was speaking of. Hell, she might have well been speaking in tongues.
"What are you going on about? I'm a busy man..." he said gruffly, yet glancing around anxiously for some sign of the person he was trying to find. He certainly didnt think it was this girl... just some common child, probably not even of marrying age. He Shook his head and glanced back off to the other edge of town.

"I gave you a few shillings, go ahead and take them and be at peace if you've nothing else to say..."

She smiled "You are a nobel man and I thank you greatly but there are more that need this then I" She saw a small child that was homeless and hungry she gave the money to the child and noticed his mother, she stood in front of him, a smile on her face as she placed her hand to the side of his face, her smile never fading the warmth that came to her touch was soft and sweet very innocent but something about it could calm any man or beast.

"Look inside your heart kind sir"

Sigurd turned his head to the side, and looked off somewhere else in that sense of humiliation. He undid the pouch at his belt and took stock of it... a good hefty handful of gold peices... more than enough to feed the two of them for a while. He handed it to the child and sent him off on his way.

"Charities be done and sins atoned for... " he said solemnly, then turned to the girl. "Is that it then... can I go about my business or is there more you want from me?"

She looked down "Your heart is closed there for you do not see hopefully by the time you leave you will know who I am" She walked away "Im older then I look and my name...." She turned "Is Hope" she sighed some, maybe she was just crazy as she slowly started to walk towards her home which was just outside the village.

He blinked a few times and shook his head. He wasnt accustomed to having to find things like this and wasnt sure what she was trying to tell him. He felt a sincere feeling of dissapointment though... He wasnt sure what had just happened... and what was worse now he had no money...

He sighed and looked down at himself dejectedly and continued his search. He walked through the town a few times... however, a man dressed as he was couldnt find much leeway in a nice quaint town such as this.

As the sun went down he found himself outside the tavern... the town watch had come after him and no matter how he tried to plead his case ... that he was indeed the king's warlord... he could not convince them.

Pikes to his throat they forced him to hand over his sword... which he did reluctantly... He had no desire to slay the good watchmen of this peaceful villiage... a place he was honor bound to protect. From there they marched him to the gates, kicked him thruogh and closed them behind him.

For a moment Sigurd sat in profound recollection of what had happened. On his hands and knees outside the villiage gates he came to feel a wave of misery wash over him. He got to his feet, looking back towards the town and let out a dejected sigh as he turned back down the path... what would he tell the oracle?... what would he tell his lord.. the king? He stifled a frusrated and sorrowful tear as he walked.

Hope had a bad feeling she watched the events she had to do something the men were in front of him talking back and forth on what to do with him, the watchmen glared at him but all of a sudden there was a sound of a twig snapping, the men drew there sword.

"Who goes there?" Slowly the young girl appeared in a pure white dress, her beauty shinning brightly with a tear drop shape pendent blue in color, they put there swords down and sighed some. She looked into there eyes, she looked at the warlord and smiled.

"You must let him go" She spoke to them the guys looked at one another and laughed. "Hope don't be silly" The watchmen on the left of the warlord put his sword up to his neck.

"Please Edward, Zack" She had a sweetness to it as they looked at her.

"Why do you believe in him?"

Hope slowly walked up to them placing her hands on the men

"You have to, look at whats happening, you have to let him go" She looked them "If he was here to hurt us, why would he give up every penny he has to me and the homeless children here, ive always been a great judge of character, I will take him to where he must go, you have trusted me up until now, trust me further"

She knelt down in front of the lord as she began to untie him and slowly stood up, the men just nodded and gave her his sword but when she touched his sword a light glowed from his sword different colors, earthly colors.

"He is your responsibility Hope" And they walked off she slowly turned as she presented the sword to him across her hands looking into his eyes, her age shinning bright and strong.

Sigurd turned back to her and looked at his sword.
"You again... come to spread your holier-than-thou pities on a grubby vagrant pretending to be a lord?" He said bitterly, before turning and hading back along the road out of town, his hand rubbing his arm. He stared down at himself.

She appeared before him rather upset now she dropped her arms as she closed her eyes frustrated she didn't know what she was to do she felt deep down she was the one but it was then she heard a voice.

"Follow your heart child" A whisper in the wind.

The pendent around her glowed

She strong as Put her right hand in the air and moved it from over her head down to her stomach as she turned to her side.

"Lighting...planet jupiter...." She spoke then went forward crossing her arms over her chest.

"Give me the power!" Lighting struck down and as she twirled lighting formed into a long staff with a sword at the end her eyes wide but she did it the point now was made.

"Still think im not her!"

Sigurd took a step back, frightened and confused... he shook his head and felt his heart pulse in his chest. What was it... witchcraft? Necromancy? He felt a cold chill run down his spine to his gullet. He felt sick, frightened, afraid... He was about to run when the lightning struck, the force of the lightning shaking the ground and knocking him off his feet. He sheilded his eyes and waited for the intesne light to subside.

He wanted to run... he wanted to be somewhere where things made sense... where he wasnt being counted on to pull through on some task and feeling himself a dismal failure at every turn... for once he felt weak, powerless and above all things... alone.

She dropped the weapon as she collapsed onto her knees she had scared him thats not what she wanted she started to cry like a baby, rocking back and forth but a whisper in the wind took hold of the warlord now it was the voice of the oracle.

"Behold the child you were to find, do not be afraid of her, embrace her all she wants is acceptance something she has never had in her life" the wind stopped as she gripped the blade of her weapon so roughly that she cut herself, the blood running down but she didn't care.

Sigurd got up and looked at her and then sat down on the ground next to her. He wrapped his arms aronud her, tears running down his own scarred cheeks. He rubbed her warmly and rocked her in his arms letting her nuzzle against him. He took her hand and looked at the wound. "my child... you've hurt yourself... please forgive me..." He muttered squeezing her to his chest.

She felt his arms around her like a dream she slowly relaxed she closed her eyes and before his eyes her hand healed on its own but her fingers wrapped around his for the first time in her life she was calm and nuzzled into him softly a gentle smile on her lips.

"Thank You....."

He took her hand and tore a strip of cloth from his shirt underneath his hauberk and wrapped her hand up, cleaning the blood from it. "shh ... " he said, wrapping the makeshift bandage around her hand. He shook his head ."You cut yourself...it should be fine..." Once done he let his arms slip back around her and clutch her warmly.

The wound had healed but was sore so she was thankful to have padding on it, she smiled "Come its getting colder" She slowly stood up and smiled looking at him. "You can stay with me I have an extra room, we should go tomorrow before noon" She said sweetly.

Sigurd nodded and put his sword back, he followed her back to her house, and her extra room. He didnt know what to make of it all now. He hadnt really understood anything that had happened, but now he was more willing to follow along as he was intended to... He Kept his head bowed.

She smiled looking at him "If I ever asked a thing from you sir id ask you treat me like a friend, no bowing or calling me Miss, Hope is fine" She said softly as she extended her un hurt hand to him. "Its nice to meet you"

He took it and gave it a gentle shake, before nodding quietly. He was tired and could find now words to respond with. He looked down at the girl and saw a sort of tender quality there... She seemed nice, there was no denying that. He nodded once more. "I wish to rest..." he said softly.

She nodded "Yes of course, I will make breakfast in the morning" She said told him where the bathroom was and everything in the room he could use, she shut the door behind her and sighed some going into her room, she laid down in her bed and yawned a bit a smile on her face.
