I'm dying to get to NY and see "the Producers". Apparently it's killer. A friend of mine saw it Friday night. Damn, I hate living in the desert (that's a "cultural" reference, not "geographical").

Sparky, you gotta go and let me live vicariously through you.

It's one of my favorite films, and they say the play's just improved it (even if they did cut LSD).

So, don't be stupid, be a smarty, come and join the Nazi party...

"I fell on my keys!"

"Now.. I am WET.. and.."

"Look at me! I'm wearing a cardboard belt!"

"It's springtime for Hitler, and Germany.."

Dixon, if you live in the desert, I live on Mars. If you get to NY, pick me up on the way.. I'm a great date. ;)

The Producers.. DAAAAYUM. That's my kind of entertainment!

Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, some other people, I am dying to see that. I've been watching it on CNN all day.

*sigh* Being married to uberRedneck, I'll have to wait for the Donny Osmond version hit the Town'n Country Auditorium and Rodeo Arena.

Killer...I don't know what makes me more depressed...this statement you just made, or the realization that in the town I'm currently residing in I don't even HAVE an auditorium/rodeo arena.

LMAO

Seriously, I would have a hard time (at least at first) getting passed missing Zero and Gene.

"I'm in pain and I'm wet and I'm still hysterical."

"Shut up, I'm having a rhetorical conversation."

MP ;)

Boids. Filthy, disgusting boids

The two lines I love best in "The Producers" is the one where Gene Wilder, before meeting their playwright, stops with an expression of distress and whispers, "He's wearing a German HELMET!"

And, of course, "We find the defendants...incredibly guilty".

I recently had the pleasure of watching this on cable with my teenage son. Hearing your offspring repeat "Goose step/A New Step/Today!" just has Chicken Soup for the Warped Soul written all over it. Some people get teary-eyed over first bike rides and first days of school. I remember when my kid first imitated Chico Marx ("Atsa No Good, Dad").

But Nathan Lane, argh. The guy is so damn irritating that I think I will gladly wait for the 3rd rate touring company to hit the midwest. Maybe we can get Joe Namath . . .

"Springtime for Hitler und Germany..."

I've actually been to plays so bad that I thought they were trying to imitate "The Producers". Unfortunately, they weren't.

Yeah Dix! It's big news in the Big Apple right now.

This woman the Shebabe and I work with is "best friend" with the producer (the actualy money guy, but I forget his name) - she went to opeing night last Thursday, the party too of course - shoke hands with Mel and told him something like, "I'm your biggest fan, you're a genius," to which he replied, "of course my dear." She actually is tight with him - he invited her to go to Spain for vacation - but she can't figure out if he's gay or not. The Shebabe's had dinner with him too.

Got my folks tickets for next weekend - they're comming up from Richmond, taking over our apartment (we'll house/dog sit their place down there) for the weekend. $90 for Mezz!!!! And they went up to $100 opening day!

They made $3 million in a couple of days and I hear it's sold out for the rest of the year.

The Shebabe was supposed to get me ticks for my late summer birthday. But I don't think that will happen now.

Shit! By the time I get to go Nathan and Ferris will be gone. Unless I can get some ticks from this director dude.

And - one of my crew's girlfriends is an usher - she say's people are rolling in the isles!!!! It's supposed to bee much raunchier and vulger than the movie.

Man! I can't wait to see it.

My favorite parts?

Having had a Linus like blue blanket - well Gene just cracked me up with that shit.

And Zero yelling out his window, at the woman in the Rolls - "Flaunt in baby! Flaunt it!"

That's so fucking New York it kills me.

And Dick Shawn auditioning!!!!!????? Great shit.

I cry at this movie.

Thanks. Good luck getting tickets. A friend of mine saw it Friday night, and I'm still waiting for the full report.

"I'm the Concierge. My husband was the Concierge, but he died. Now I'm the Concierge."

I hear Jack Nicholson's going to Broadway in a musical remake: "Fuckin' Yankees".

And Stallone's doing "Yo, Dolly" for PBS.
