Can't argue with this...can you?

Iraq must agree -- and soon -- to free, full, unfettered access to these sites anywhere in the country," he said.

U.S. objectives are to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and to reduce Hussein's capacity to
threaten his neighbors. "I am quite confident,... that we can achieve
the objective and secure our vital security interests," the president said.

He said U.S. forces are ready and that he has complete confidence
in service members who would be called upon to make any attack.
The president called U.S. service members the best-led, best-equipped, best-prepared armed force in the world.

"Should it prove necessary for me to exercise the option of
force, your commanders will do everything they can to protect the
safety of all the men and women under their commands," the president said.

"No military action, however, is risk free. I know that the people we
may call upon in uniform are ready. The American people have to be
ready as well."

The president detailed Hussein's lies and evasions since the end of the
Gulf War. Under the agreement ending the war, Hussein had 15 days to
report about his nuclear, chemical and biological arsenal. "Iraq has
repeatedly made false declarations about the weapons that it had left
in its possession after the Gulf War," the president said.

U.N. inspectors have found proof time and again that Iraq lied
about its nuclear program, the president said. The Iraqis simply amended
their declaration to incorporate the discoveries.

I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but, yes, some people will find something to argue about in this — if they choose to.

If every country that is guilty of "lies and evasions" was on the shit list, you'd have one hell of a war to prosecute...

GWB is one big lie and evasion in my humble opinion-

he's so transparent-
such a warmonger-
such a dimwit...

Im embarressed to have him as President,

just my opinion...

good night

and...

peace ya crazies...no blood for oil-anyones blood, keep the vampires at bay...
;) :rose:

He's been telling us for YEARS now.

The president said LOTS of things best. For instance:
"I am mindful not only of preserving executive powers for myself, but for predecessors as well."

Washington, D.C., Jan. 29, 2001

"The California crunch really is the result of not enough power-generating plants and then not enough power to power the power of generating plants."

Interview with the New York Times, Jan. 14, 2001

I kinda like the idea that Saddam is outwitting the combined leadership of France, Germany, China, and Russia...

65% of Americans agree.....

With this type of statement..

"No military action, however, is risk free. I know that the people we
may call upon in uniform are ready. The American people have to be
ready as well."

I think that while many people around the world question the methods and motives of an American invasion of Iraq...but anyone with a grasp on reality knows that some sort of military action is inevitable. Too bad the administration wastes so much time on the WMD issue, when there are many other issues that would easily garner more support.

I'm going to try to hunt it down, but Hanns posted a list of reasons to invade that really trumped anything that Bush and Co. have pushed.

Which begs the question.

When was the last time you were polled?

(btw, if you've ever taken a statistics class you know that there's no such thing as an unbiased or accurate statistic except for the possibility of a free election, but voter turnout in this nation cocks that up)

What's the chance?...

That six different polling groups got the same consistent (+-4%) support figures?

BTW- What do you think of the president's speech?

I think his speech generally reflects the nonsense in his brain. Unless the speech was written down, in which case it reflects what was going on in Karl Rove's brain.

I haven't seen the data distributed like that, but there is sooooooo much that can alter a poll's answers it's insane. The order of questions asked can create a large gap in results. So, I'd really have to look at the questions if they're getting that close...it might just be more coincidence than anything else.

As for the speech... eh. There's no real substance to it. It looks to me like the stuff you fill in the speech. Yes, war is risky... that's a no brainer. Iraq lies? Yeah... the US has lied on numerous occasions as well. There's nothing really to argue. It's just fluff. Sounds nice, but, in the end... it says nothing.

Your bias against Bush cripples your minds..

The speech was made by President Clinton, on February 17th 1998!

Then and now, we are in the same discussions, same rhetoric, the same problems with Iraq. It's time to terminate this human cyst, and to restore balance to that region. Two weeks, tops! Get over it.

Excellent point, LC......

It is also worth noting that the same year, Bill (I want my cock sucked and I wanna fuck the cuntry) Cliton and his DEMONcrap government passed TWO laws:

1- Regime change in Iraq

2- All means necessary to implement that.

Further, all the DEMONcraps that are pissing on Bush now, SUPPORTED the sex President in '98.

But of course he never follwed thru on his "policy", thereby giving Saddam the security to thumb his nose at the UN and America.....

ENOUGH TALK..........START BOMBING!!!!!!!!!!!

Kudos. Well done on exposing the hypocrisy...

Maybe if Bush Sr. had completed the job when he had the chance...

Even you could run foreign policy with 20/20 hindsight, Do you recall what the UN resolution called for? It was to remove Iraqi troops from Kuwait, Not remove Saddam from power.......

he should have been arrested and held for war crimes and crimes against ecology...
