Silliest quote by Congressional Democrats and the Media. Why silly? It's obvious. But for those lacking those skills (you know who you are), the same argument can be made about the House or Representatives.

Every seat was up for grabs. Republicans still have an overwhelming majority. "Republicans campaigned on X, they won the election, so give them X."

The above argument is only illogical to purveyors of double standards.

What kind of thread are you referring to?

I hate double standards. The Media is full of them. It does not make you nuts?

The Republican Party only held onto the hosue because of redistricting and gerrymandering shenanigans. In fact, the Democrats won the House popular vote by half a million votes. But the gerrymandering bullshit was so pronounced that even though half a million more people voted for Democrats, it translated into the second biggest GOP majority in the House in sixty years. Claiming that the Republican party has a mandate from the people after America just voted against them is a monumental logic failure on your part.

Incidentally I linked this fact for James and he immediately put me on iggy for it. The truth hurt him real bad. How are you feeling about this thread right now btw? :)

Is it not possible that Democrat Congressional candidates won this 500,000 vote plurality due to party strength in urban and heavily populated states? For example, aren't 11 of New York states 29 districts located within New York city? Are those voters not heavily Democratic as compared to the rest of the state?

So, you are saying the Republicans did indeed retain the House. We agree on that.

Oh, and the only reason why Obama won reelection was because his henchmen convinced women to put mayonnaise in the panties panties the night before the election, and then convinced themselves they were raped by the nasty Republicans... and "they'd get even with hose fuckers at the polling booth."

.....or....maybe, just maybe, women don't want to be treated like some Leave It to Beaver trip back to the 1950s and don't want to vote for those who support eliminating rights for women, minorities, and the poor? Could it even be feasible that women actually voted what they thought was right instead of being 'tricked' into voting Dem? Let's flip that thinking then....anyone making under $100k was tricked by Republicans into voting against their own interests...

Unless they feel that strongly about social issues they really were duped into working against themselves.

However seriously gentlemen. If we wanted to get anything done we would have voted Romney. If the Republicans refused to give an inch when we had a Super Majority in both houses what the hell made you think they'd give an inch when had some power?
