Heyah.
Brief question.
If someone wanted to purchase something over the Internet, what would be a convenient method of assuring other members of the household never saw the package? In fact, never knew of its existence?
I'm working afternoons and evenings at the moment so the 'rents tend to be the first people to check the mail.

Don't ask me - I sure am the only person to NOT be qualified with this answer

.. anyone remember the Incognita toy story ?? *lol* (To update those who don't ... it was about me ordering some adult toys on-line and my mom getting the parcel - do I need to say more??)

Just in case anyone was curious if anything else embarrassing happened... needless to say that now I am on the "advertising" list of this .. uhmmm .. company and although "neutrally enveloped" the sender is quite obvious by the city stamp on it... and you should see the big ass grin with which my mom placed it next to my breakfast plate saying she wasn't sure if I would have wanted it in my "usual mail" (not to mention the puzzled look of my dad over the rim of his newspaper, wondering why she was making such a fuss over an obvious junk mail letter) ... and worst of all!! the agony I couldn't even check out the letter for the "special offers" with my mom and dad happening to sit on the table with me (traditional weekend family breakfast) and so I had to dump it to waste paper without even checking out if there was anything fun on sale *sighs*

That's what places like Mailboxes Etc, Mail & More and thier ilk are in business for.

Oh yeah, there's always the US Post Office that has mailboxes.

So, you don't want them to see the package AT ALL, even in plain brown wrapping? Well, you could get a box at Mailboxes Etc. or the local post office. Or you could have it sent to your work, or if you have a discreet friend send it to their house. Every adult store I deal with ships in inconspicuous packaging with a respectable-sounding return address - "Symtex Inc." instead of "1001 Dildoes R Us". But if you don't want them to see the package at all, those are the only ideas I can come up with.

You're a package from Rose Comics whose last catalog to me was stamped 'Sexually Oriented Advertisement'
To my work place.. I can just imagine the announcement over the loud speakers. "Attention. Never, please come to the front and pick up your package."
Jazz: What is it?
Never: Nothing.
Jazz: I'm serious, what is it?
Never: Nothing!
Jazz: Right. A big brown package of nothing.
The Beast: *Walks down the stairs* Whoa. Why are you having mail sent to us?
4050: *Does a walk though*
Never: I SWEAR IT'S NOT PORN! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT PORN IS! *Grabs my box and runs out of the store*

The names are made up but the problems are real.

Mailboxes Etc, Mail & More.. Hmm.. Don't know where those are in my area. I know where a Post Office is. I don't suppose they'll let me rent a box for a week or so?

I'm not sure if the post office still accepts packages marked "General Delivery" or not. They would probably look up your home address and forward it to the house anyway though.

I think a month is the minimum period you can rent a MB for. (USPS or elsewhere) Check the yellow pagesunder "mail" or "Mailboxes, Retail." The last time I had a PO Box, it ran about $5/mo. Probably worth it if you plan to order very often, or want the sales flyers and catalogues to go someplace besides the trash.

I just stick them in my bedroom. It's safe ground once I get it passed the doorframe.

Thank you though.

You could get a PO box or if you are ordering through Amazon? you can have it deliver to one of these lockers

I think perhaps the OP has moved out of their parents' house in the meantime.

That is the beauty of Amazon Prime. You are notified upon ordering if it will be one or two day delivery. My fiancé is a nurse so when it is a secret I time it to the days she is working. Two times I had packages delivered to work.
