I honestly don't see how the Politics Board affects the GB negatively. I would have voted against, had I felt I deserved a vote at the time, simply on the old-fashioned 'case not proven' basis. But no threads have been moved from the GB. It remains a home for anything anyone wants to post. All that has happened, surely, is that those who choose to specialize in politics and nothing but have somewhere to go where they will not have to trawl through pages of fluff, as they might see it. Conversely, those who like the lighter side of the GB - or simply the variety of food, book discussions, general chat, pic threads, etc, etc - don't find that it is clogged up with lots of simplistic 'Republicans, yah boo!' 'Democrats, yah boo!' threads.

Much as I dislike the hackneyed, oft repeated and ad hominims (especially inaccurate ones) that go on around here (my own included) I had to laugh at the word.

Besides, with elections coming up, you'd have to scroll 3 pages over to get to anything that didn't sound rabid.
