Its time to stop using the TV as backround noise and stick with the stereo.....

Ha, Out here in Boston, they think they're the definition of politics and the sacred keepers of democracy.
They take their politics far too seriously.
It began weeks ago - everywhere.
It's just the primaries and the two parties are already smearing the leading candidates on each side.
Dirty
Nasty

If this were the only definition of politics that I'd experienced, I'd definitely prefer a benevolent monarchy.

I think they are designed to make intelligent well intentioned and informed peope not want to vote....

I'm lucky enough to live in the district of a hotly contested Congressional race . . . the incumbent retired, so the race is between the political newcomer who nearly unseated him two years ago, and a former congresswoman who's running again to stop him from winning this time. It got ugly early, and will probably get worse.

Thankfully, he doesn't have one. Although that can be a bad thing, since he has the opportunity to be a pretentious asswipe nationwide.

Yup, got worse.

Both candidates established phone hotlines, then aired commercials that said basically, "Call _______, and show your support!" Quickly, both candidates then set up negative ads using the other's phone hotline, so that their supporters can leave angry messages to their opponent.

Shit, there's still two months to go here. This could get bloody.

The widow Carnahan is just taking a BEATING from the RNC... They're giving her what Ashcroft was too nice to give her during the election...

But then, he got his!

:D

Do political ads ever stop is my question. Every time they get in front of a camera they are pitching to the public.

The power of incumbancy.

The again, every time you open your mouth, you take the chance...

So my question is, what's the deal with the blocking of soft money thanks to the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance quote-unquote "Reform" Act? Seems to me nothing much has changed . . .
