I'll leave whatever ideas you were trying to communicate alone, but, cb9, that is the flabbiest prose I've ever read.

Except for some of the things I've posted after drinking too much.

PS Please don't think I'm trying to 'poison the well', I'm not. The question of free will v determinism is an interesting one. Personally, I believe that everything is predetermined but life must be lived as though one has free will.

Kdog, you are aware of course that determinism and predictability are not the same thing. All predictability requires (and all we have evidence for) is constant conjunction between events. Determinism requires causality and is not subject to statistical proof (while predictions are). If we did not have predictability we would not exist, but that does not mean everything is predetermined.
