A Denver police detective commits suicide, his reporter brother don't believe it, and investigates what happened. His investigation fills the book with constant action of every kind including the pursuit of serial killers and rogue cops. He falls in love with an FBI agent who he thinks is a serial killer.
The whole book is a grand exposition of how serial killers and cops and lawyers and media work. And its a Rubiks Cube of how to maintain the suspense and mystery till the end. I guessed correctly plenty of events that eventually happened but they weren't what I believed they were.
