So, the Government confiscates fireworks from the people because, as usual, they hate and don't trust the people.
In their infinite lack of wisdom, the Government thinks it would be best to detonate the confiscated fireworks right in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
Predictably, the Government fucks everything up and the goddamn thing explodes in a massive fireball injuring 17 people and causing thousands of dollars in property damage.
This is the perfect metaphor for the truism that there is no problem the Government cannot make worse.
Had they left the fireworks in the hands of the good people of Los Angeles, I venture that there would have been at least 50% fewer injuries and far less property damage than these incompetent mooks caused.
