Billy Thomas had made it! Once so filled with promise, he had left college after winning both the individual and team titles at the NCAA championship his freshman year in college at The University of Texas, and then following that up with a semifinal finish at the US Amateur. He turned pro expecting to be the next Jordan Spieth. Sponsors had willingly lined up for the blonde haired, blue eyed all-american looking Adonis from Abilene Texas.

His story was too good to be true, he had married his high school sweetheart Kelly Jo when they were only 19. She had gotten pregnant their freshman year at UT and Billy would do right by her. Two weeks after they had gotten married, she miscarried, but he never looked back. He had dated Kelly Jo since he was a sophomore in high school, and other than kissing, she was the only girl he had ever known intimately.

Maybe it was losing the baby, maybe it was the huge step up in class between the amateur/collegiate and pro ranks, but success had not come as easily as forecasted. Despite being given multiple sponsors exemptions his first year, he had only made two cuts and not near enough money for his tour card. The next three years had been spent on the Nike tour, the proving ground and minor leagues for guys wanting to earn their right on the PGA tour.

Last winter he had almost given up, and had it not been for a long heart to heart with Ben Crenshaw, the former PGA superstar and University of Texas legend, he might have done that. Thank God he didn't. Spring had been magic, it was like the talent and fun he had as a kid all came back. He had just had three weeks unlike almost any in golfing history. Three weeks earlier he had won the Nike event in Amarillo. That had earned him an invite into Dallas on the man tour, at a country club, Colonial in Dallas, he knew as well as any anywhere.

He couldn't miss, coming from six back on the final day, shooting 63 early and then watching high winds come in and destroy scoring conditions for the leaders, he was a winner on the PGA Tour, with a two year's exemption. As importantly, the win brought an invite to the Masters. It was Crenshaw again who came to his aid, Billy played two rounds with the man who knew Augusta as well as anyone, and for the next four rounds he saw the confounding and diabolical greens at Augusta through his mentor's eyes. It was as if Ben was sitting on his shoulder.

Crenshaw was there behind the green when Billy rolled in the 40 foot, double breaking putt, to win the green jacket. Billy had made it, fives years exemption and a lifetime invitation to come back to the tournament he had dreamt of winning a thousand times as a kid, Billy had everything he had ever dreamed of ... well, other than his marriage that is...

Shelly Timmons was working her favorite sporting event of the year, The Masters. She loved golf, she loved the precision and the thought behind the game. She loved how golf was like a metaphor for her life, you could be down by 6 strokes but you could still come back and win the game, just like Billy Thomas did this year. She was his first interview after his win and she wanted to be prepared, so she reviewed her notes on his career so far, but as she did her mind drifted.

Shelly had graduated with a degree in journalism and a ring on her finger. When she and Ben graduated they had a small wedding ceremony because they were so in love and were going to conquer the journalism world together. Ben and Shelly were a team, Shelly reported and Ben produced her segments. They had a trust between them that they could do so well. Shelly was a natural in front of the camera, and her long brown hair and striking blue eyes drew people in. Shelly always made sure she tailored her clothes to fit her 5'4 frame perfectly.

However, all dreams must come to an end, Shelly was quickly noticed by multiple stations and she quickly climbed up the ladder and grew her career to where she was able to be a reporter for ESPN. She loved her job and was so proud of her hard work, sadly Ben's career wasn't as profound. He grew to despise Shelly and how she excelled at her job. After her second promotion their marriage started to go down hill, and after her fourth promotion intimacy ended, not just sex, but cuddles and talks and shared secrets. Shelly felt so alone in her marriage she dreaded going home after her assignments.

Shelly was pulled back to the clubhouse when a knock on the door came to tell her Billy Thomas was ready to be interviewed. Shelly stood and adjusted her outfit and put on her professional smile, no one was ever to know the pain and loneliness she felt, unless they could read her eyes. When Billy walked into the room she smiled and congratulated him on his win. She looked at him, "So Billy, does this still feel like a dream?"

Billy had just accepted the Green Jacket Ceremony in the Butler Cabin at Augusta, his head was absolutely swimming, he had been quickly interviewed on CBS by Jim Nantz, another boyhood idol of his, handed the jacket by last year's champion, Rory McIlroy, it truly had been a dream come true. Billy was just walking out to repeat the ceremony on the 18th green in front of the crowds, when Kelly Jo and has agent, Quinn Jackson, came running up.

Billy could see in Quinn's eyes, there was an issue. It only took him moments to understand, Kelly Jo was nearly falling down drunk. Her hair was tassled, her blouse unbuttoned two buttons and she was nearly falling out. "Billy, I'm sorry, I have been trying to stay off camera!" Billy swallowed hard, he had seen the Master's long enough to know that they would have shown Kelly Jo, if they could have when he made the putt. She was a beautiful, well at least sexy, girl and TV ate that up like crazy. "BABY..Give me a Kiiisssss!!!" She slurred as she wrapped her arms around Billy's neck.

Billy wished this had been a one time shot, but it wasn't and now at the biggest accomplishment of his life, he needed to worry about his wife making a spectacle of herself. Billy caught her as she slammed into him, and gave her a quick peck. "Noooo...a real kiss...I beeetttt, there are plenty of guys here who want to kiiiss meee iffs you dooonn'ttt!" It was a combination drawl and slurr, and Billy couldn't help but look around nervously. The Augusta Members are amongst the most conservative anywhere, and this was all he needed.

"Kelly, please just stay quiet for a few minutes, I have an interview...." Quinn, interrupted him, "Uh, you have two, Shelly Timmons from ESPN wants to interview you too." Billy rolled his eyes, but it wasn't because of Shelly, in fact he knew exactly who she was, and under any normal circumstances he would have bene thrilled. Everyone knew who Shelly was, she was the young and very pretty, super smart reporter on ESPN. Truth be told she was very sexy too, but in a classy, refined way. She was the kind of girl that almost any male would have a bit of a crush on, even one as handsome and with as many admirers as Billy.

"Okay Quinn, I will talk to her, but please try to get Kelly Jo somewhere that she can get some coffee, or water, and..." He turned back to Kelly Jo, "Please baby please, I need..." Suddenly she stumbled and fell into him. "TVVVVV! I want to be on TVVVV too!" Billy was trying to button back up Kelly Jo's blouse, "Honey, you can't, you have been drink..." SLAP! "I'mmmm nooottt druunnnkkk!" Oh God, this was getting worse! "Mr. Thomas!" It was a Director from the PGA with one of the Augusta Members, "Yes, I will be right with you!" He turned back to Quinn, "Help me man, Kelly I will be done as soon as I can, I will take you wherever you want to go!"

Billy was still a bit frazzled when he saw Shelly. The lights were already on, and Billy tried to put on a happy face. He had just learned that Golfbabes had been running a poll during the final round of the Master's and Billy had already gone from unknown to a runaway winner of the PGA player you would most like to have a date with! Billy had rolled his eyes, right now the last thing he wanted in his life was a woman.

He knew how to behave though, and he flashed his gorgeous blue eyes, his perfect smile and his surfer boy, tan, good looks! "Yes Ma'am..." It was part of his country charm, he always referred to any woman he didn't know well as ma'am, even though the were almost exactly the same age. "...I guess it is a dream, it is the Masters, I was beginning to think I would not ever get here, let alone winning it!" For a moment he let the last few minutes roll off his back, he was now looking into Shelly's eyes, and she was even more beautiful in person than she was on television!

Shelly saw the scene in the hallway before Billy came into the interview room. She felt bad for him, but she supposed his wife allowed to indulge as her husband just won the Masters. She looked into Billy's eyes as she started the interview. She could see the happiness but also the frustration with his wife. Shelly, the professional she is, refuses to ask about the wife, Billy is the man of the hour and the focus should be on his achievement.

Shelly nods politely when Billy responds to her question about winning the Masters. Shelly looks into Billy's eyes and sees the honesty in them when he talks about how he was feeling. Shelly looks at her follow up question, "now that you have won the Masters what is the next on your plan? Are you going to take some time off or are you going to the next championship?"

Shelly watches as Billy thinks about his answer and nods politely at his answer. She hears a woman shouting in the hallway, "I wantttt to be on TVVV with my husbannnddd." Shelly refuses to look shocked and ignores the shouting. Shelly continues with the interview and ignores the woman. She continues to ask another question or two before the shouting woman comes and pounds on the door to the interview room. Shelly nods her head, "Thank you for your time Billy and best of luck in the next weekend." Shelly motions to her camera man to cut the video, she refuses to use someone else's embarrassment for her own gain.

Shelly watches Billy go and tend to his wife while she finalizes the interview and sends the film to ESPN. She waits until Billy and his wife leave the area when she answers a phone call from her husband. Shelly answers the phone and all she hears is her husband yelling, "you interviewed the winner of the Masters and didn't use any film of his drunk wife?" Shelly holds the phone away from her ear, "No I didn't I refuse to use someone else's momentary lack of judgement to advance my career. My producer is happy with the film I sent him." Shelly hangs up and packs up all her stuff and gets ready to head back to her hotel.

There is something special about Shelly, not that she is beautiful, even though she is, it is more, and as he looks back into her eyes he sees, kindness, understanding, as if they are kindred spirits. Billy listens politely to every question and does his best to answer completely and honestly. "I...I don't know. As of three weeks ago I was supposed to be back on the Nike Tour (that is like the minor leagues for the PGA Tour) but now, I have invites into any tournament I want to play, and with Hilton Head coming up next week, I am thinking I should keep going as long as I'm hot...." Then Billy did something almost unheard of, "What do you think Ms Timmons, what would you do?"

The fact that a tour player would honestly ask a reporter for advice wasl unheard of, but Billy was so sincere, the audience ate it up. "Look how good they are together...too bad they are married, wouldn't they be a sexy couple..." Tweet after tweet came through from fans, the natural chemistry was palpable. The executives at ESPN noticed, the story almost too good to be true.

It was the head of programming at ESPN, who called Billy's new agent. "We would like to do a feature on Billy, a 30 For 30, detailed story of the storybook beginning for the handsome young Texan. We also have an idea on who will do it, but this is going to make Billy more than a star, we will make American fall in love with him!"

Quinn didn't even wait to ask Billy, this was too good of an offer to pass up! 30 For 30's were teh two hour in depth stories ESPN did, usually directed by some famous Oscar winning director. How could the answer be anything but yes!

All Billy could hope was that the microphones were not picking up his wife, but he was humiliated. Yet, Shelly never acted like she heard anything. When the interview ends, Billy quickly walks over to her, and puts his hand on her waist, leaning in to whisper into her ear. "Thank you, you could have humiliated me, and instead you were respectful and professional, I hope I may somehow return the favor some day." With that he held out his hand, but he was taken aback by the spark he felt as they shook hands.

Quinn came with Billy and his wife back to the hotel and they poured Kelly Jo into bed fully clolthed. Down at the bar in the Augusta Hampton, about the only decent hotel in town, Quinn told Billy about the great news. Billy was not so sure, "What about Kelly Jo?"

The executive called Shelly just after she had spoken to her husband. "Shelly, I have a great opportunity, I want you to be the feature commentator and co direct the 30 For 30, we just got Billy Thomas' attorney to agree to. Don't plan to leave town, find out where he is going next and plan to follow him. I hope you liked him, you two are going to be spending quite a bit of time together, his agent said they are all staying at the Hampton Inn...."

Shelly listened to her boss and got very excited, she has been wanting to do more in depth reporting. She thought about what this meant for her career but also for her personally. She was not looking forward to going home since her husband was less supportive of her since he wasn't as successful. Shelly tried to tell him it was no big deal but he always thought the man should be the breadwinner.

Shelly went and finished packing up and headed toward the hotel where she was told Billy was staying. Hopefully he had been told about the new show and was excited about it, otherwise it would make her job much more difficult. She pulled into the parking lot and decided to call her husband to tell him what her next job was. As she called her husband Shelly was nervous, she knew this was not going to go over well, but she was so excited for this chance.

When Ben answered the phone Shelly could tell he was drunk, but she figured she would tell him anyway, "hey babe, I got my next job. I am going to be a feature commentator and co-director of a new episode of 30 for 30." Ben just grunted over the phone, "fine I guess I will see ya when I see ya, just don't expect me to stay around for long waiting on you." Shelly was surprised, "are you saying you are leaving me?" Ben chuckles, "take it how you wish, but a wife's place is by her husband." Shelly shakes her head, "Ben I am not going to argue with you. I love you and maybe you can come join me next weekend." Shelly hangs up the phone and adjusts her makeup, she refuses to be anything less than professional.

After she calms down and adjusted her outfit Shelly walks confidentially into the hotel to check into a room. She turns her head toward the hotel bar and is surprised to see Billy and his agent. Shelly left her suitcase at the desk and walked over to them, "hey guys fancy meeting you here. Do you mind if I join you?" Shelly sits down and looks at Billy and Quinn, "so can I assume you have been told about the new feature my bosses want to do?" Shelly looks at their faces, "I promise to be fair in my reporting and I just want to say I don't want to make my bones airing someone else's dirty laundry." Shelly figures it is smart to get it out in the open so she and Billy can come to an understanding.

Shelly smiles, "please let me get the next round of drinks." Shelly orders the next round and sits with Billy and Quinn, "let's get to know each other as that will make the feature more natural and less forced." Shelly goes for an unthreatening question, "what is your favorite golf course to play at?"

Quinn realized he might have acted to quickly and perhaps should have gotten Billy's buy in, but the opportunity was just too good, but he saw the pain in his freind's eyes, as he asked, "What about Kelly Jo?" Quin knew the answer but didn't want to say it. "Well, we got around it tonight and ..." Billy stopped him right there, "We got around it because, and only because Shelly Timmons did us a favor!"

Quin had no answer, and was more than aware they had gotten lucky, when who should walk into the bar then the sexy and, thus far very kind, reporter herself! Billy immediately stood up, and pulled out a chair. It never ceased to amaze Quin at his client's manners. They were amongst his new client's most endearing assets, and what was most endearing was how Billy never considered acting any other way.

Quin didn't want to say how much he appreciated the interruption, "hey guys fancy meeting you here. Do you mind if I join you?" As Billy had already pulled out a chair for Shelly to slide into, Quin need only smile. "I guess that is Billy's answer, but we'd be honored." Billy seemed a bit tongue tied, but the smile and natural dimples gave his answer better than any words could.

Shelly set the ground rules and Quin turned to Billy, "see nothing to be worried about!" He wished he felt as good as his words suggested. Billy took it all in, but when Shelly offers to buy the next round, Billy looks at Quin, "Do you mind if Miss Timmons and I talk quietly, I'd like to discuss a few things in private." Quin is almost positive this is a bad idea, but Billy's tone and look leave little to debate.

As Quin walks away he hears Billy say, "Since you offered mame, yes you can pay for the first round, but any others are on me, understand? I'm from the South and where I come from a man would never let a lady buy him a drink, my momma would about kill me if she knew!" Billy was smiling but he was telling the truth as Shelly would learn when she met said Mama. Billy was a genuine country boy, raised to be a gentleman. ironically, Kelly Jo had been raised to be a Lady...

Billy smiled, "Maybe we can go back and forth on the questions early on, get to know each other. My favorite golf course, two weeks ago I would have told you Colonial, I grew up playing there, and it is home. But....I have to say, Augusta may have just stolen my heart. Have you ever had something come along that makes you question what you always believed, something so beautiful and perfect that you can't imagine living without it?"

Billy was now looking deep into her eyes, the natural chemistry was simply off the charts, he felt like he could tell her anything. "I think that is what just happened to me?" However in the moment it was a bit hard to tell if Billy was describing the golf course or the young lady he was talking to....

Shelly sits in the chair Billy pulled out and smiles at the two men. She wants them to like since that would make her next job so much easier. She smiles at Quinn when Billy says they should talk just the two of them. She decides to tease just a little bit so they can continue to build a rapport, "don't worry this conversation is off the record," she says with a smile.

When Billy tells her she can buy the first round but the next rounds are on him Shelly just nods, "ok, but I won't take advantage of that." As they sip on their drinks Shelly listens to him talk about his golf course from growing up. She grins as he talks about something coming along that makes you question what you believed. Shelly nods her head, "yes, I recently have come to understand questioning what you have always known." She doesn't want to say more but the situation with her husband does come to mind.

She smiles as they talk and get to know each other a little bit more. As they talk Shelly is already making plans in her mind for her piece on him. She knows she wants to talk about the elephant in the room but she doesn't want to make tonight awkward. She sips on her drink a little bit more, "so can we talk about the elephant in the room?" Shelly takes a breath, "I don't think we can do the profile on you without meeting with your wife. She is a big part of your life and everyone loves your high school sweethearts story."

Shelly wanted to make the wife discussion quick and painless. She moves on to make it seem like just part of the profile. Shelly smiles, "I think I would like to meet with your high school coach as well as maybe some friends and ofcourse your parents." Shelly smiles, "maybe we can do the profile chat between you and I at Colonial, where you are most comfortable." Shelly knows this is going to be awesome and make everyone love Billy more than they already do. As they continue chatting Billy's wife comes to the bar and heads to the bartender to get a vodka on the rocks, and she is already slurring her words.

The way Shelly answers his question makes him think she is dealing with some things as well. He is tempted to push more, but knows it is none of his business. Perhaps as they go along they will become friends and confide in each other. Billy is a good person, loving, caring and compassionate, but Shelly has no way of knowing that, and he understands it takes time to earn trust.

Shelly turns the conversation, "so can we talk about the elephant in the room?" Billy tries to laugh, but is uncomfortable and really wants to change the topic. "Now that is not very nice, my wife is certainly smaller than an elephant, most would call her very attractive?" It is an attempt at humor to change the topic, but Shelly is undeterred. "I don't think we can do the profile on you without meeting with your wife. She is a big part of your life and everyone loves your high school sweethearts story."

Billy nods solemnly, he knows it is true. "I loved the high school sweethearts part myself once, but eventually we all leave high school." He takes a long sip of his drink, nearly finishing it. "I know we do, and I don't expect you to lie, but I would like for her not to be embarrassed. When we get home, I am hoping we can try counseling, or maybe just her, whatever. I don't think this is what she wanted to become either. But you know, when your spouse becomes successful, everyone wanting a piece, and no one looks at you anymore. There was a time when guys would have killed to go out with Kelly Jo, probably many still would, but she has lost herself, and I am probably more than a little bit to blame. She didn't realize what would happen if I actually made it?"

Almost on queue, Kelly Jo walked in, and was about to make a fool of herself at the bar, however the young bartender didn't seem to mind too much. Billy hears him, "Baby, why don't you take a seat, I'll pour you your vodka on the rocks, and you nurse it, I am off in 45 minutes." Billy doesn't want to hear her reply. He turns to Shelly, "I think my wife may need some peanuts." He tries to grin, this will be their internal joke, he mentions peanuts as a favorite elephant treat. "Let's meet tomorrow for breakfast, I can go over my schedule next week and we can at least schedule that."

Kelly Jo hears and turns around, "Billy, what are you doing with some tramp?" Billy is mortified. "Shhh, I think you need to slow down. She is a reporter interviewing me, and ..." Billy turns to the bartender who is disappointed a sure thing may be slipping away. "This is my wife, you wanted to leave with in 45 minutes, why don't you forget this ever happened and I will forget to tell your boss to fire your slimey ass!"

This should be one of the best night's of Billy's life, instead he helps his wife upstairs. She insists on fooling around, "like you wanted to do with that bitch!" Billy hadn't really thought of that, but the alternative of Shelly Timmons at the moment seems incredibly appealing. Kelly Jo strips off Billy's pants, and puts his cock in her mouth. It is too much, and instead she stumbles off to the bathroom to throw up, after which she promptly passes out on the cool tile floor. Shelly gave Billy her number, and he gave her, his.

He just stares at it and then turns on TV, ESPN is playing her interview of him, all he can think about is how beautiful she looks!

Shelly watches Billy go and help his wife. She sees him tell the bartender off and he carries his wife upstairs. She grimaces for him as she knows it will only get worse, her husband is the Kelly Jo in her marriage. She can only imagine how her husband is going to react when she calls to tell him she is going to be traveling for the next few works, she is proud of how her own career is taking off, but her husband is less than supportive since his career has stalled.

With that thought Shelly decides to call it a night and heads up to the suite ESPN booked for her. She gets into her room and pulls out a pair of silky pajama bottoms and a matching tank top. Shelly loves to dress in silk and lace even if it is just for herself. Her husband has lost all interest in Shelly because she is the primary breadwinner and he feels emasculated. Shelly doesn't care who brings home the most money, she just wishes she had a supportive husband. As Shelly thinks about her husband, she wonders if she was the stay at home spouse, if he would love her more than he does right now. The sad thing is, Shelly doesn't think it would matter, her husband doesn't seem to love her or desire her any more.

Shelly walks into the bathroom and notices she has a very nice bathtub and she never travels anywhere without her vanilla bubble bath. Shelly starts the water running and goes to get her bubble bath so she can relax and calm down from the good news of today. After the tub is full she sinks her sore body down into the warm water and rests her head back against the tub and sighs, "it feels so good," she thinks to herself. Shelly lays in the bathtub for a good 30 minutes enjoy the water and how it feels to just relax. As she lays there Shelly thinks about her plan for tomorrow, breakfast with Billy, making a plan with her boss about travel and her ideas for the episode on Billy, and calling her husband. Of those three things, Shelly is only dreading one of them.

Eventually the water cools down and Shelly gets out, dries off, and puts on her silky pjs. Shelly climbs into bed and snuggles in under the covers, she always leaves the hotel a/c on as cold as it will go so she can bundle under the covers. Shelly sets an alarm for early in the morning so she can go for her morning jog before she goes to meet with Billy to discuss his schedule for the next week. Shelly quickly drifts off to sleep with thoughts of a good kind man, too bad that man is Billy and not her husband.

In the morning Shelly wakes up and puts on her favorite light blue blazer, black pants and a white button down blouse, cute but professional. She quickly does her hair and makeup to make sure she makes a presentable picture and heads down to meet Billy for breakfast.

What a night! It is about 2 AM that Billy wakes up, and Kelly Jo is still asleep on the cold, tile floor of the hotel bathroom. He carries her back into one of the two queen sized beds in the room, but soon her snoring is so loud, he moves to the other bed and covers his ears with pillows. He has barely slept when his alarm clock rings at 6 AM, but he knows a workout will help. He goes down to the weight room and does tons of band and stretching work, keeping his muscles long and supple. As a cool down he decides to go for a mile run outside, he sees Shelly, while running but she doesn't see him. She has on cute little running shorts with what appears to be her sorority letters on the butt, and a sports bra. Even with it, she bounces a bit, and bounces in all the best areas.

He can't help but admire how good she looks, even the glisten of sweat is sexy. He remembers when Kelly Jo took care of herself like that, but this morning she will probably just take a super hot shower to sweat out the booze from the night before. He is tempted to go over, but he doesn't want to embarrass her, but he can't help but watch Shelly a few more minutes, biting his lip, until she turns around the corner and he heads the opposite direction.

After Augusta, the next tournament is Harbor Town, in Hilton Head South Carolina. Originally, he was going to drive, but during the tournament, his new agent signed a deal for Billy with NetJets, so for the term of his contract, he can fly private and will wear their logo on his sleeve and do some promotional events. He has arranged a plane for 1 PM, it is an 8 passenger plane and there are only four of them: himself, his agent, his caddie and Kelly Jo. Billy before winning the Masters was not a name, so he didn't have a coach with him like the superstars did. His coach is his old pro at Colonial, and he might start inviting him to come with to some events, but he will have to pay for everything, which maybe he can consider now. He is even hoping he might convince Kelly Jo to go back to Dallas, so he can do the work he needs to do, but she is excited to go to the beaches in Hilton Head.

He has never played Harbor Town, so his goal is to get there mid afternoon, walk the course with his caddie, and play some shots mostly understanding how the different greens roll. Tomorrow will be full practice rounds, and Wednesday, and then the tournament starts on Thursday. He is wearing golf pants and a golf shirt, black loafers when he heads to breakfast to see Shelly. His agent also signed a new clothes sponsor for Billy, a new wardrobe with what he is supposed to wear each day will be waiting for him when he gets to Hilton Head. Billy's life has changed so much in one day, he can't believe it.

Billy is already down and waiting, sipping a cup of coffee and reading about his next golf course on his iPad when Shelly shows up. He looks up and smiles, "You look a bit more dressed up than this morning..." He teases, and let's her know he saw her running. "Maybe we can run together sometime, I would even be happy to share a workout if you would be interested in what I do?" Shelly is so pleasant and so professional, Billy decides to ask Shelly, "I have a new sponsor and will be on a private jet up to Harbor Town, you and your camera man are welcome to join us, if you'd like? I even have room for at least one more? Is your husband with you?"

Shelly looks at Billy in surprise when he said he saw her running, "you should have come and joined me. I love to run with other people." Shelly smiles when he suggests they run together, "anytime, as long as you think you can keep up with me." Shelly tries to run at least 10 miles every morning, it really centers her for the day ahead. As they eat their breakfast Billy offers for her to ride in his plane, "I think that would wonderful. We can get some candid time with you and your wife and your agent." Shelly smiles, "what time do we leave?" Shelly doesn't want to completely ignore Kelly Jo in Billy's profile, so maybe she will get some film and if it doesn't add to the profile she won't use it.

When Billy asks if her husband would join them Shelly shakes her head, "no, he won't be joining me in Hilton Head. He isn't as supportive as your wife." Shelly is trying to put Kelly Jo in a positive light before they start to film the profile. As they finish up breakfast Shelly looks at Billy, "what time should my camera man and I meet you for the plane?"

Shelly and her cameraman meet Billy at the airfield and she smiles at Kelly Jo, "Hi Kelly, I am Shelly, it is a pleasure to meet you." Shelly tries to be polite and smiles, "I am doing a profile on Billy since he just won the Masters." Kelly Jo looks Shelly up and down with a sneer, "just don't go getting any ideas about stealing him for yourself?" Shelly is taken aback, she had never thought about trying to do anything to tempt Billy, "oh no, you misunderstand me. I am just here for work, my husband is at home." Shelly doesn't want Kelly Jo to see her as competition so she tries to diffuse the situation.

As they load onto the plane Shelly and her camera man sit across from Billy and his agent. Shelly is a little surprised when she sees Kelly Jo walk over to the bar already, but she doesn't say anything. She and her camera man talk about their plans for the profile so Bill and the agent feel comfortable. The agent smiles, "it sounds like you are prepared to do a very fair profile and I appreciate it.

The camera man smiles at the agent, "do you mind if we ask you a few questions just off the cuff?" Shelly looks at the agent, "what about Billy made you want to sign him?" The agent thought for a moment, "he is such a genuine person, what you see is what you get with him. He also genuinely cares about everyone in his life, which is super rare. I wanted to represent someone like that." As they film from the background you can hear Kelly Jo belch and yells out, "he's a great fuck!"

Shelly offers Billy a chance to run with her. He laughs, "I don't know, I am just a golfer, you look like you could run a triathalon?" Billy is in very good shape, but he only runs 5-6 miles, but he does so at a pretty good clip, a bit over 4 minutes per. He also is complimenting Shelly, but carefully. She is obviously in very good shape and he has always been attracted to her type of toned body, yet with nice breasts, not too big, just a nice hand or mouthful! He realizes he is thinking of things he shouldn't and blushes in embarrassment. "I tell you what, if you want to meet me at 6 AM tomorrow, by the light tower in Harbortown, we can get a good run in, but I may turn back a ways before you do, if that's okay?"

Billy invites Shelly and her husband, but she asks instead about her cameraman. Billy is a bit jealous that she gets to travel alone and can focus solely on her career, instead of taking care of his increasingly dependent wife. She tries to be nice, referring to Kelly Jo as supportive, and Billy winces a bit, wishing if only that was true. "Of course your cameraman is welcome, we will take off at noon, and there will be lunch on the plan. They asked me and I had shrimp caesar salads prepared, I hope that is okay, and a but of sushi?"

At the airport, Billy overhears Shelly introduce herself to Kelly Jo. Shelly is very nice and professional, but then he hears his wife's response, "just don't go getting any ideas about stealing him for yourself?" Billy is so embarrassed and turns and puts his arm around Kelly Jo. "Honey, Shelly here is happily married herself, and besides, why would a big city girl like her, be interested in a hick golfer like myself?" He is trying to make a joke, but it is also how he feels. Billy has always attracted the beer and pretzel, western dancing kind of country girls, he has never even dated women like Shelly. He has no idea how attractive they fine him. "What does that say about me?" Kelly Jo quips, and Billy realizes he probably made a mistake. "Nothing, just you're a country girl, like I'm a country boy!"

Except Billy is becoming a bit less of that boy, as he matures, and sponsors start wining and dining him, and he is being seen as one of the new, fresh and handsome faces of golf. Shelly also tries to dismiss any fears, but Billy is a bit disappointed, if he is honest, as he is feeling attraction to Shelly, even though he knows nothing can ever happen.

Billy is happy his agent is comfortable with the profile, this is all so new to Billy, he wants to trust Shelly, but he knows he is not very experienced with the media, and he is still worried about Kelly Jo. They start the interview with his agent, and Billy smiles, but his agent really understands him and he is happy to hear that what his agent likes is what his Momma always taught him, he lives by the Golden Rule.

It is ruined by Kelly Jo's crude comment. Shelly can see how beat red Billy is. Of course, Kelly Jo said the truth, Billy is a great fuck. He has a very nice, large cock, and he gets very hard with amazing stamina and body control. He also loves to worship his lover's body, using every erogenous zone, Billy would even like to get more adventurous, but Kelly Jo, even when they did fuck was mostly a Missionary or Cowgirl kind of girl.

Billy doesn't know what to say, "Uh thanks honey, but Shelly is talking to my agent." He can't believe she said he was a great fuck, and he wonders what Shelly must be thinking. However, as he looks up, he can almost swear her nipples are getting hard, through her blouse, but Billy does his best not to look. He lowers his voice to a whisper, "I hope we can leave that out of the story, that is rather personal."

They talk a bit more, and the conversation goes to how he has developed his game, who his teachers have been, and some thoughts on some of his larger amateur achievements. He did play on a winning Walker Cup team, the amateur version of the Ryder cup, and he won the US Junior Amateur, and lost in the semis of the US Amateur before going pro. He also won the NCAA tournament while he was at Texas. He talks about team golf and how he enjoys it, and the loneliness he first felt on the PGA tour, and how his friends helped and he developed some great mentors.

Lunch is served and they enjoy it, Kelly Jo skips the food, as she has fallen asleep after three cocktails. Billy explains how he will be practicing this afternoon, and the cocktail party he needs to attend with the tournament sponsors that night, and invites Shelly to come to whatever she wants. Kelly is meeting with a friend, so she could even be his plus 1, even though she probably doesn't need him and could get in on her own.

Billy is getting more and more comfortable around her, the reality is Billy is very smart, but he doesn't think of himself like that, he has always just been an athlete and did school because he had to. However since he was there, he might as well get straight A's. Before they land he has to go back and wake up Kelly Jo. As they get off he turns to Shelly, "I hope I will see you later...he whspers, "And if you go to the party, it is black tie so a bit more formal dress..." He laughs, "I bet I will look pretty silly in a tux!"

Shelly hears Kelly Jo call Billy a great fuck and she bites the inside of her cheek to keep from reacting. She figured he would be, she thinks to herself, "look at the man, he is practically sex on two legs." Shelly shakes her head and reminds herself about her husband back at home. When Billy whispers about keeping that part out of the profile Shelly smiles professionally, "ofcourse, I doubt the cameras even picked it up on the film."

As they eat lunch Shelly continues to chat about general stuff, getting to know both Billy as well as his agent. She can tell his agent really cares about Billy and wants to see him succeed, which is rare and Shelly is happy for him. As the plane begins to descent Billy tells Shelly about his afternoon plans of practice and a cocktail party. She nods her head, "I won't intrude on practice, but I am already going to the cocktail party so I will see you there." Her boss got her a ticket to go to the party so she could schmooze with some other athletes.

After checking into the hotel Shelly relaxes in her big king size bed and decides to call her husband. She really still loves him, but she just wishes he would be supportive of her career. When her husband picks up the phone he just yells, "WHAT?" Shelly is sadly not surprised, he makes it sound like she is interrupting something. Shelly calmly answers, "hey babe, I just wanted to tell you we landed safely and I have checked into the hotel." Her husband comes over the phone, "oh yeah baby." Shelly continues, "yes, the hotel is very nice. Maybe you could come meet me here this weekend." Shelly is still hoping her marriage can survive and maybe a little getaway is what they need. All Shelly hears in response is, "oh yeah baby so good." It finally clicks for Shelly, "are you cheating on me you asshole?" Her husband's only responses, "yeah baby all the way down." Shelly ends the call and falls onto the bed and cries herself to sleep.

She wakes up after about two hours and looks at the time, she has to hurry if she wants to get ready in time for the party. Shelly is nothing if not professional, her marriage may be falling apart, but her career sure won't. She showers and puts on a killer navy blue lace dress with nude heels, her hair and makeup is flawless before she walks out of her room on the way to the party. She stops outside the party room and takes a deep breath before putting a smile on her face, no one would ever know she is dying on the inside. Shelly goes and starts to schmooze with all the movers and shakers in the room, feeling no guilt about the fact that she took her wedding ring off.

Billy realizes he is a little sad when Shelly decides to pass on both his practice session, but more so, on his offer to be his plus one for the cocktail party. It is silly and he knows it. He does think it is important for her to join him at practice for some events as it is in the preparation that leads to success later. He had stayed at Augusta from dawn to dusk during the practice rounds, putting on those devilishly hard greens until he could barely see his ball, trying to gain some advantage. But the party, it wasn't exactly like it was a date, but it had felt almost like that, when she said "no thank you".

"I guess you're losing your touch!" His agent teased him, and Billy could only smile. "Shut up!" He joked and tried to forget about it. Practice had gone fine, he could feel he was tired. The Master's had taken a lot out of him and he probably should have withdrawn, but he had made a promise to these folks and they had been kind enough to offer him a spot before he had become the latest Major champion.

Back in his room he planned to shower and put on his tux. As he entered, Kelly Jo was just finishing getting dressed. She was dressed in a shiny, very sexy minidress, slightly too tight, but very sexy. "That is to go out with the girls?" Billy asked, only to have Kelly shrug. "Of course, but you could have gone too, it is your own fault if you have to go suck up to all those suits....are you going with that little bitch reporter?" Billy was a bit relieved to be able to say no.

When Billy came out of the shower, his wife was gone, but there was a message on their hotel phone from some guy she had met at the bar earlier asking if she was still headed to Yahkzii's, the hottest dance club in Hilton Head? Billy ignored, he wanted to trust her, but he was finding he increasingly didn't care, and he hated feeling that way.

As he entered the party, he quickly looked for Shelly but didn't see her. Of course it was still early. His agent went over to introduce him to some of the top sponsors. Billy was gracious and friendly to everyone, even complimenting the sponsor's wives on their dresses. As he stood at the bar, he felt a hand on his shoulder, and as he turned he was facing one of the sponsor's wives. She was a good 20 years younger than her husband, and her hand moved down from his should, down his back and then squeezed his ass.

"You liked this dress, I think you'd like even better what is under it. My husband won't mind at all, in fact it is something he appreciates in all of his players!" Billy had heard about these things, but hoped to not confront it himself. He suddenly saw Shelly over the woman's shoulder. She looked amazing. She must have seen the look in his eyes as she traveled over towards him.

"Oh Shelly, Mrs, Grayson, do you know Shelly Timmons, she is an incredible reporter and she is doing a feature on me!" The woman did not look happy, but Billy slipped his hand around Shelly's waist. "We need to cover something for her producer, perhaps we can talk later?" Billy had no intention to do anything later with that cougar, but he escorted Shelly away and then took his hand away.

"I"m sorry, but I had to do that, that was uncomfortable." Billy realized he may have done the same thing to Shelly. "I'm soo sorry, I shouldn't have touched you like that, I ...I...." He was blushing, "I'm sorry....would you ... maybe... like to dance?"

Shelly mingled with the people at the party, all the while hiding her pain from her husband cheating. She knew their marriage was bad, just didn't think it was that bad. She sees Billy talking with lady and he looks uncomfortable, so she starts to head towards him.

Shelly feels Billy put his arm around her waist and is surprised by how good and how right it feels. She nods her head at Billy's excuse, "yes, my producer sent me some notes that I wanted to go over with you and he wants your feedback before the end of the night." Shelly looks at the other woman, "sorry to steal Billy, but duty calls, it was a pleasure to meet you." Shelly allows herself to be lead away by Billy.

Shelly smiles softly at Billy as he says, "I"m sorry, but I had to do that, that was uncomfortable." She shakes her head softly, "it is not a problem, I was glad to be able to help." Shelly smiles as he asks her to dance, she hasn't danced with a man in years, her husband hates to dance. "I would love to dance."

As they join the people on the dance floor, Shelly realizes Billy is a good dancer, "someone knows how to dance." Shelly follows his lead and has a wonderful time dancing and chatting with Billy. One song leads to another and eventually Shelly asks Billy if he would like to break for a drink.

At the bar Shelly and Billy continue chatting, some about work, some about personal lives. Shelly asks Billy, "what attracted you to your wife in the first place?"

As they chat the night gets later and later until Shelly looks over Billy's shoulder and sees his very angry wife heading toward them. His wife starts screaming and berating Billy, "are you cheating on me with this so called reporter?"

There is something so freeing for both as they dance! Billy is a strong lead, but he laughs at her comment, "It is easy to lead when you have the perfect partner." They can't help how good, and natural they look and eyes watch them even if they don't realize it. "Wow....Oh MY God...." And other comments/compliments reign down on the duo. As they get to know each other better, understanding and anticipating each other's moves, they are even better, and ... SEXIER!

When Shelly suggests they break, Billy realizes how long they have actually been dancing, over and hour, and they are both sweaty and smiling from ear to ear! Billy doesn't mean it to sound the way it does, he is just being honest, "Wow, Shelly, I truly can't remember when a woman felt that good or moved like that in my arms!" Most men, it would have sounded like a line, but Billy was so down to earth and so honest, he was just paying her a compliment. "Yes, I need a beer!"

At the bar, Billy didn't do foreign beers, or IPA's, he simply ordered a Budweiser and looked at Shelly, "I'd buy you a drink but I'm pretty sure they're free..." He laughed and waited for her order. "So, my momma made me take fort nightly back in grammar school and I liked it. Every other Friday night all the boys and girls in town would be taught different things. Most of the guys acted like they didn't want to go, including me, but I really liked it. So I snuck back to the dance studio and the teacher taught me everything, latin, ballrooom, disco, God it was a hoot, and I had such a crush!"

Billy was embarrassed, blushing, "Now you won't use that will ya?" Then he thought a bit more, "Oh heck, use it, maybe the next little guy won't be afraid to learn to dance..." And then he winked, "The ladies seems to like it...well most of them!" He was looking into her eyes, deep into her eyes, he saw something there, genuneness, friendliness, and he had no doubt he could trust her! But that wasn't all he was feeling and he knew the other part was dangerous!

It was then Shelly asked what had attracted him to Kelly Jo, and it made him sad to even think about it. "I know it is hard to believe, but she was the head cheer leader, and I was just a golfer, I woulda played football, but I had junior events I had to play in, and it just wasn't possible." Billy felt a need to explain he actually was an athlete, not realizing that his body alone suggested that without saying.

"Dang she was the prettiest thing, and I was kinda..." He laughed, "Heck I was totally inexperienced and she .. uh, wasn't!" Again Billy blushed, "Back then when she was all that, she wasn't like she is now, drinking and jealous and making a fool of herself...Oh God Shelly, this has to be off the record!"

"I had a total crush, and then she got pregnant and I ... well I was responsible." Billy had told the truth but the one word he hadn't mentioned was love, no theirs had been more infatuation and physical, but Kelly Jo, wasn't all that easy to love. Billy wanted to change the subject, "What about you, your husband, how did you fall in love?"
He was interested and listening closely, maybe too closely as he leaned into every word, feeling them drawn together. Shelly saw Kelly Jo before he did, but he heard her, loud and clear! "are you cheating on me with this so called reporter?"

She saw Billy close his eyes, his heart sank. Why the hell was she here, and how did he minimize the damage. Billy spun and extended his arms, "Now Kelly don't talk that way, Shelly was just asking about you, and how we met?" Kelly Jo had a large glass in her hand, clear liquid and while he prayed for water, he knew it was vodka, he could smell it on her. Kelly was in a short leather dress, high heels that she was barely staying upright, and a low cut blouse that left little to the imagination.

Luckily for Billy, a Luke Bryan song came on, it could be Kelly Jo's them song, "Country Girl" Billy turned to Shelly, "I'm going to go do a little two step with my wife and take her home, see you tomorrow?" Off they went and the did dance, Billy doing his best to hold Kelly Jo up, as she pawed and grinded on him. The next morning Billy looked like he's had a tough night, which was true, he had woken up to have Kelly how crashing a bottle over his head as she had a dream of his cheating!

He was struggling, and by the time he spotted Shelly on the 7th hole, he was already five over par, if he didn't turn it around quickly, he was going to really struggle to make the cut, the low 65 players out of the 140 in the field, after the second round. Shelly was there with her crew and Billy gave her a sheepish smile trying to hide the shiner on his cheek!

Shelly smiled as she imagined a little version of Billy learning how to dance, "I am sure those moves came in handy when you started dating." Shelly just winked at him, "of course we will use that, besides, that's is nothing to be ashamed of."

Shelly listens as Billy told how he and Kelly Jo got together. She looks at him in surprise that he never mentions how much he loves his wife. Biting her lip, Shelly looks at Billy, "my husband met when I starting working at my first station. He was older and had been there awhile, he was charming." She isn't sure how much to say, "but now, let's just say I advanced and he never did and he isn't happy about it. He is still in the same job as when I started, and still uses his position with new anchors trying to make a new for themselves." Shelly implies her marriage is not a happy once either and hopes Billy understands she is trying to politely say her husband cheats on her.

As Billy went to dance with his wife, Shelly quickly escapes to her room for the night. She doesn't need to be around the drama of Kelly Jo and knows her room is her best bet. She quickly changes into her pjs and snuggles under the covers to fall asleep.

Shelly over sleeps and rushes around to catch up with her crew, but she still manages to look camera ready. When Billy smiles at her Shelly gives him a soft and encouraging smile back. She knows he needs to focus and motions for him to do so.

Eventually the round finishes and Billy is able to battle back and finish 5 under par. Shelly meets him outside the locker room, "my producer suggested we should get lunch."

Shelly leads him to the clubhouse cafe and they sit and enjoy some sandwiches. As they eat Shelly looks at him, "looks like you had a rough night followed by a rough round, care to tell me about it off the record?" Shelly wants Billy to know she is trustworthy.

Billy smiles, “You think I have moves? I wasn’t sure I did, but if a woman as beautiful and classy as you are does, well, maybe I do?” Billy is blushing he isn’t used to a beautiful woman saying something nice. He doesn’t take it as flirting at all, a woman as smart and worldly as Shelly would never be interested in a small town hick like him, even if he is a champion golfer now. Billy will never consider himself a big shot!

Shelly also made an inference to children, and Billy shakes his head sadly, ”funny given how we started, but I don’t think we will ever have children, Kelly Jo doesn’t want them, and that makes me sad. I think I’d be a really good Dad, but I don’t think she could ever be a mother.“ Billy wonders of Shelly understands how much he would like to be a father and asks, “Would you like to have children someday?”

Billy listens to Shelly talk about her marriage. “I am so sorry, I can see how a man might be intimidated by you, you are so smart and so talented and beautiful, but it is a shame, he should just be proud and happy for you, but I guess that isn’t possible for either of us?” Billy knows he would be proud to be seen with Shelly, what an honor to be the man she wanted to be on his arm!

Billy asks her a question, he has found himself wondering, “Do you ever think about what your life might be like, if you were with the right man? A man who encourages you, and is not jealous, but proud? …“. He then let’s it slip, “I know I sometimes wonder what that might be like, to … actually be happy?”

Kelly Jo then shows up, and Billy does his best to dance with her, and they do surprisingly well, even though he basically has to hold her up. He sees Shelly leave, and wishes he were still dancing with her, but feels guilty about that.

The next day, Billy finds himself constantly on the lookout for Shelly, and watching as Kelly Jo is getting more and more drunk, and it is only morning! He is depressed until Shelly shows up, and then it is like a switch is flipped, and he plays some of the best golf of his life, birdying almost every hole, except for one par and one eagle!

One Shelly motions him over, Billy is all smiles, “I was really struggling until my good luck charm showed up!” He means her, “Oh sure, we can grab sandwiches, Kelly Jo left somewhere during the back nine, I assume to take a nap.” He can be confident she is at least in bed, but he could not care. She mentions the shiner, “Yeah, she has a bad temper, but I’m okay, I’m pretty tough…”. He just shrugs, it is what it is, and he is embarrassed, but he'd never hit a woman.

”Is there anything special your producer wants to discuss, is everything okay? I am really enjoying having you around, I hope we aren’t done yet?” Billy is even hoping Shelly and he might do something this afternoon, he doesn’t want to be forward or inappropriate, he just, well, really likes her!
