The Patriarchy
OOC: The year is 2121. After much chaos, war, environmental disorder, and a series of conflicts between extremist factions, a Bulgarian general has overrun most of Eastern Europe as an iron-fisted regime: the Patriarchy. Despite protests from many Western nations, the Patriarchy is militantly anti-feminist. Masculism is adopted as the governing ideology, with the idea being that feminism is evil anyway and the people of the Eastern half of Europe just need a strong central government, a one-party state, and a single, dominant ideology to unite them.
Chaos ends, as General Ivan Moravic sets up his Patriarchal Front as the ruling party of the Patriarchy. To back up his military rule, he sets up a secret police force and a party bureaucracy. Major world powers have reluctantly set up embassies in his capital of Cluj, Romania and recognized his tyrannical regime. He refuses to join the UN, however, and frequently sells arms to African warlords, in exchange for a major part of the global diamond market. A major goal of the regime is to crack down on the white slave traffic, however, preferring to keep those women as domestic chattel instead. Strict measures are having their effect. Women captured in government stings are taken into "protective custody".
My character:
Dr. Elia Zevic, a prominent Cabinet minister (Justice) and Party member, has now seized the chance to get revenge on the women who have wronged him in the past. This includes his ex-girlfriend Veruschka, who had left him before he rose to high office, mainly because she didn't like that he was an overly political professor, when she thought that he should be a corporate legal consultant instead and make more money. Now, of course, he has more of a future than her corrupt husband and his ties to organized crime (of which she is not aware). Since the State is cracking down on domestic racketeering, this is the best time to lash out at her.
IC:
Dr. Zevic looked down at the papers on his desk. He saw the full weight of evidence tying to Veruschka's husband Lazar Kodec to organized crime boss Drajo Hamidovic, which just confirmed his power over her. Kodec would probably join his chief in prison or before a firing squad soon, as the white slave export traffic was viewed very dimly these days. Veruschka herself, however, might avoid such a steep penalty, IF she sucked up to the Minister (a member of the PF's Supreme Executive Council as well). Zevic was bored with his two mistresses at the moment and could use a third to add some excitement. Since he didn't use any drugs, even the usual tobacco or alcoholic beverage, he relied purely on power and women for kicks. He was a ruthless, methodical man, and would get his way, sooner or later. Even his wife Katya knew that much.
