Its time for me, the Great Rone to attempt another thread. One that will succeed and be better than all others, one that will go down in record books as the greatest thread of all time...or at least one that everyone will like.

Premis:

The year is 2050, you have been born into a world on the brink of total social collapse and complete annilation by your own race. Twenty years ago, the second comming of Jesus arrived with a prompt and utter leaving. Jesus was confronted by the people of the world and while many went with him and joined his side, others faught against his rule. In all things there must be balence and the comming of Jesus tipped the delicate nature of the world, balence must be maintained and Mephisto lord of the underworld rose from the earth to contest Jesus's power and claim to the world. Neither Deity can fight one another, both being extreme opposites would only cancel each other out, it was decided that those they mean to rule would fight and be the ones to determine which Deity will have domminion over all men. Choose your side and fight or try to avoid confrontaion and survive.

Four groups can be chosen, each with their own unique powers. Each character, except for Survivalists, will be given three of these powers with the promise of more to come after each conflict, remember not all conflicts are person to person. Describe your character to me, how they act where they were born and what they relate too.

Four Groups:

Heaven Sent: Join with Jesus and fight for heaven.
Demonic Graces: Mephisto wins your heart with the delusion of an easy life.
Survivalists: Fight no one and try to survive the war. From here if circumstances arise in the thread a character can choose either side. Ie, death of a loved one by either faction and so on. Once they choose they are forever locked in that side, and are considered no better than mercanaries until the job is done.
Liberators: Chose niether side and attempt to free the human race of all Gods and demons. "Free to rule oneself!"

Powers will range from the weak to the strong, most beginning powers will be rather weak, characters are free to fight any other character or will be attacked by characters I create for the simple purpose of character development. I will basically be much like a GM, controlling both factions equally and fairly, but never controlling your own actions. Those are up to you!

The Path to Glory:

Both Heaven Sent and Demonic Graces have three seals which must be destroyed in order to realease the Deity for a final battle. I will not devuldge that information now, both sides have decided to keep the seals secret from every human however through playing you will discover what or who they are. Remember you are fighting a God and I will make sure that it is not easy at all.

Style:

Think Anime style when createing your character, you may give your character any assortment of weapons but limited to Projectile, Melee, and Explosive. Other weapons such as Beam type will be found/given in game. Ie, defeat someone with a beam type weapon and get it if it is undamaged. Please try to keep it physically possible. (No you can't push a 20mm cannon by your self.)

Simple yes, Your character is up to you, how physically strong and how it looks is all under your direct control. I think it is only fair to limit things such as powers and weapons to make it fair for all involved.

OOC tip

A little tip from me to you, the more detailed your character the more detailed and better the powers will be. Short list character will get short list powers. More often than not I see, too many characters on Lit with little or no depth, I would love to see deep thought involved in each character down to the smallest of details. I will also work hard to provide you with equal characters for your compitition. So here it is let's say about five or six to start and try not to one side it too badly. I know alot of you out there are sadistic enough to choose the demons just so you can be bad.

Well we will get started with five to six people, and others can join in whenever the feel free to do so. I will pick up empty spaces and play a variety of characters, ranging from good to bad. In this way I hope to make it feel bigger than it actually is. With the four groups those are just choices for you, if it turns out that everyone wants to be on either the light or dark side and no one wants to play as a Survivalist then characters will only see that group from me and regaurded as everyday people. I will force no one into a particualar group unless they themselves cannot decide. Which I doubt will happen. If you want an idea of how I would like this to work you can checkout LadyRozes thread: The Seven Keys. She has about nine or ten characters right now, we are all waiting on her to return from whatever it is she is doing IRL but that is the idea of the legnth and how I would like it to go.

Ah yes, I was actually enjoying LadyRozes thread. Thought of opening one of my own when I ran into LadyRozes awed that someone out there would have similar thoughts...

I haven't RP'd for a while but can't wait to get back at it. I will be on the Light side however with dark thoughts and rebelious heart, nonetheless a good soul. I will post my chara tomorrow. Need to know how my chara would have to be like. Perhaps like Vash or Cloud.

Within the thread time period, can I have another chara in a different group? Or is that not allowed? I was thinking of also having someone in Ie. And what do you mean by "beam" weapon?

To answer your second question first Sho,
Beam Weapon: Anything from laser to a plasma pulse rifle. Cool futureistic stuff and the like. Things like a laser sword (ie: Lightsaber) would also be classified thusly. Basically a weapon that generates its own projectile or blade with its own power source unlike a gun which relies on individual shells.

As for a second character, that is up to you. I know how you play from other threads that you have been in so I am not worried about a conflict of interest from you. However you might not want to have them fight each other since it would be just you playing with yourself and that is just a little weired.

I reason I asked about beams is because of energy rays, like Ryu charging his fireball or Goku doing a Hameha-hame Description of chara will be delivered tonight.

About the whole Goku with the fireball thing, that would be kind of like a power that I would give you. Perhaps your character obtained it when he joined, insert side here, or enlightned himself into the ability. Either way I will decide based on the characters.

Born in 2025,Derek Shields was born to Regis and Sarah Shields in an American Military camp on the British Isles,thus making him a resident of both nations.Born in London,he was born to a US Soldier and a British Soldier that met and fell in love at a christmas party,Derek was raised since day one with the ability to be a warrior.Derek was brilliant in school,yet excelled in atheletics becoming a team captain in Football and Soccer becuase of his natural ability to lead effectively.Gradauting at 16 as a junior having started school late,he passed with one year of college credit already.Taking the ASVAB,Derek was immediately pulled in the army as quick as they could get him into it.Derek quickly worked up the ranks,working as hard as he could to impress his parents.He bounced around,serving in the British and the American army since they didn't really know what to do with him.After serving time as an army ranger for a couple years when he turned nineteen,he was the youngest ranger in the corps.Then being recruited into an elite counter intellegence,he served until he was 25.Then Jesus came back and so did Satan and a war began brewing as the world was divided,good and evil.Both armies destroyed many things in their wake and the war was in full blown.In one engagement,his parents deciding to remain nautral in the war were killed in battle by both sides,their house was just in the way and while they were escaping were both shot and killed.Ever since he was a young kid,Derek had been slightly rebellious and once he learned about the revolution American had,he immediatly fell in love.Now the world was controlled by two powers and after having meet a few people,he joined the Liberators,others who decided to stand up against both powers,looking to start a resistance...a revolution! This is the white reader,the first seal and later in the book of revelations is the leader of the good side on Armaggadon(and conflicts between good and bad before) becuase Jesus(who was god on earth technically) was to passivemistic to fight.He preached to his disciples not to fight,he could have destroyed all of Rome as they crucified him,yet he didnt.

I knew if I undertook this venture as a thread, I would be quoted scripture. For the purposes of this thread let it be entierly fictitious set in a somewhat realisitc future. Think of this more of a hard core jesus and satan, much like the Spawn comics (Not movie.) This is putting the belife of Christianinty in more of a Greek myth sense, since to personafy ones God as a human is a Greek trait originally it seems only fitting to think of this thread as such. Sure the scripture is nice but I am not a beliver in it, myself I belive in making my own destiny and solving the conflict of good and evil in my own heart without a foolish story with loopholes and contradictions.

As for the character, Top notch my friend. I shall have to think up some good powers for you. Alright everyone, Scarlet has set the bar time to match or exceed it!

Has everyone lost interest due to my lack of faith in scripture?

Anyway, this thread is more of just pure fantasy than anything tied to the Bible. Using characters from everyones knowledge, Jesus and Satan, it is too be a fun romp of fantasy. Quoteing scripture is cool and fine with me but just know that it is not the driving force behind this thread. Think of it more like a Really Good guy leads and army against a really Bad guy. As with any war their are both civilians and those who hate both sides and have chosen to destroy both. Also this is not going to start as and all out open war that everyone can see, each and every person in this world has chosen which side they fight for even if they do not realize it themselves. It starts as a secret war, very few people know what is actually going on, those that do have already begun the fighting. News reports state that violent crime against churches has risen, and it is said that ordinary people have just started attacking one another for no aparent reason. When questioned they both responded, "He is my enemy and my God commands it!"

Now on to our first character's gifts from the GM.
1. I am going to try something for this thread that I have never seen in others, the concept of money seems to be an unused gameing technique that would be a welcome addition to threads, in this one I want to make it almost essential so for Scarlet I give a trust fund of, 5000$. First off do not be angry, as I said money will be an essential power. To spend it in character simply write something to the effect that you are going to a store to buy things. Naturally you do not have to buy food and drink with this money. If I give money to you, either as a gift or winning from a fight, it should be used to improve your character. Such as buying weapons, armor, or if I allow it artifacts of power.
2. Next I give to you an item that has been my favorite to use in actually paper gamming. A weapon of my own creation, something you will find invaluable. It is called the Spiraling Multi-Shell Hand Big Gun or SMS-HBG. The SMS-HBG can fire any bullet placed into its chamber, from the small .22 to a large 50 calibur shell. A single shot weapon loaded from the end of the barrel not only solid projectiles can be fired. Energy class shells can be fired to their full affect. Most Energy weapons create their own power using a battery pack, however there are some that use a one time blast shell. These are often more powerful than the battery pack style. Since there is no need for the weapon to transfer energy from a battery to something that can be fired, it cuts down on fire time and weight. As such many military special forces groups have adapted it.
3. To go with the SMS-HBG I give six HFS, Holy Fire Shells. These shells have nothing to do with the hevens, they recived their name from the look of the beam. A pale blue beam about six feet tall fires from the weapon. It can be used as a straight projectile or you can cut with it. It will tear through most armor and many buildings. Best used in wide open areas where collateral damage is minimum. The shells are so powerful that they have been made illeagle if fired. Use them sparringly since they are both hard to find and expensive.

History

Born in 2043, a young boy came into a world filled with chaos and confusions. He grew up with his mother being his only guardian parent; he could barely remember his father, thought to abandon him by his mother. He was a normal kid with a semi-normal life. Black hair, brown eyes, tan, long arms and legs with a devilishly grin. He was playful and charming in his own way. He was naturally creative that he didn’t need much help from others. At the age of 3, he started hearing voices, first only his name: Severen. The voice was distorted and haunting, made him think it was of the evil doings. It echoed ‘til it made him nauseous and put him to sleep. He used to dream things that seemed out of the ordinary however he felt as if it already happened before. At the age of 4, he was kidnapped by the Bedouins of the desert and brought to Tibet. This wasn’t a mistake. He was brought here so the monks can teach him to understand the scripture which was recorded and put together from all over the world. The scriptures were from the time long before Jesus came to earth and gave vague hints of the prophecy of revolution. In the beginning he was angry and careless, wanting his mother; however he calmed down once he was handed a necklace. The pendant looked awfully familiar to him. It was a cross with its long edge shaped as a sword. On the back of it, was carved “The Seventh Knight”. He didn’t understand it but he knew he had seen this pendant in his dreams. Upon wearing the necklace over his head and placing on his chest, his heart burned in bright light, painful to the eyes of others and a burning sensation in their soul. His eyes burned with white light and formed into the heavenly blue color he soon to have. His body lit up with unreadable letters all over his body, somehow a Gregorian chant humming from the letters. His hair turned crisp and straight, his body transformed to a stronger self, and his face bold defining someone who is aged and wise.

The Prophecy

The monks believed that he is the one that has been prophesized in history to be the lost soul. An angel who once served God Almighty but lost his wings when Lucifer, who is now Satan was cursed forever. He still doesn’t know if he was cursed for the wrong doings or because God wanted to test him. Nonetheless, he was the angel who chose to live in his own way through human lives. He knew that the life on earth was just a game played ultimately by God and His angels, from both heaven and hell. So he was forever cursed to learn the lesson the hard and long way by the Weaver of Fate. He, the lost angel, had both good and evil in him. The monks were afraid of this, and so they tried teaching Severen the good ways more strongly. But little did they know, it wasn’t up to them but for Severen to choose. By the time he turned 5, he had known all the history written by every religion in the world. Now it was up to him use the knowledge and make of the prophecy.

He was naturally good in physical combat. Although it sounded unreal, there was a place hidden in the mountains of Tibet where all the masters of martial arts still existed. Their physical bodies deteriorated but their soul wandered around this place. This place looked like a temple of fortress where visions of all types of ghosts, ancient warriors fought. The visions weren’t just any random combats, but the best combat in history, basically a recorded moment suspended in time. Here Severen meditated and grew to learn how to fight. Because of his age and strength, he was limited to the powers. He could only learn the primary combats for now.

At the age of 6, adding to the dreams he has been dreaming before, now his dreams amplified more. He started dreaming the lives he once lived. He continued hearing the voices calling his name. In time as he started observing the dreams and trying to understand them, the voices started to come much clearer to him; the voice didn’t sound haunting anymore but more familiar to him. He couldn’t make it out but he knew it was his own voice from another time calling out his name. One day, while he was meditating, he caught a ghost in the fortress. It was a man in white karate clothes, arms looking like carved out of stones and wearing worn wooden wraps on his knuckles, and on bare feet; this man looked like he was walking away from existence. In another layer of him was a faded ghost with its body half-way deteriorated, broken wings and holding an energy sword. Severen did not understand this vision, but he disturbingly knew that ghost he just saw …was him.

When he turned 7, his strength grew enormously. He began to meditate with the Tao dynasty where he learned to open his inner spirit in a form of energy –Chi. At this moment, he started seeing disturbing visions. The world around him turned dark and screaming voices arose. He saw that man in white fighting, intrigued Severen imitated that man’s moves. On his mastery of this art, he soon began to see two raging eyes watching him over the dark skies. He started to cry as his mind clouded with darkness and anger, pain and sorrow from thousands of years; it was a reflection of hell… he wanted to kill and destroy. He never had such feelings grow inside him before; the voice started rapidly calling his name. His mind went crazy as he tried to stop this restlessness by punching and kicking, using the traditional moves he learned (katas), into the thin air. As the voice increased, so did his moves. It came to a point where body discharged electricity all around him and then…ending with the man in white's move came to a pause, the voice stopped and ended by saying, “Seven”. Severen realizing that it wasn’t his name but the number that has been echoing all this time of his life, he opened his eyes. To his surprise he was sitting on the floor in his meditation-stance as he was doing so in the beginning. Only this time, he had an object in front of him. It looked like to be a long double-sided sword with a gun on the handle. He was afraid of touching the blade, but looked into it to see a dragon suspended inside it with an imprint, “Dragon” in ancient characters. Looking upon it, he realized that the blade reflected everything, from the clouds, the worn bricks of the fortress, the trees, but not him. He could only see the reflection of his eyes burning with flames. He picked up the sword with heaviness… when his pendant chimed with bright light, first feeling painful almost ripping his right arm, then the sword felt like a magnetic connection to his hand and light as a feather as well.

The eerie voice that he finally heard echoed in his mind with confusion as he stood there in the fortress to await his destiny…

I made this kid, with the ideas from Sora/Kingdom of Hearts, Squall/Final Fantasy VIII, Raziel/Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, and my favorite Ryu/Street Fighter. The fortress of the temple is used from the movie Mortal Kombat and Blood Sport.

Rest of the ideas of the prophecy is all of my own.

Radical idea for a character Sho. Amasing potential and the ability to choose any side you wish as the thread progresses. However you did take some liberties on many powers that you may possibly have. I will allow most but I will have to limit one, the gun blade; at current the only shell that can be fired is a .22, this being both extrememly easy for a child to use and it will help keep things balenced. That is the only restriction that I ask, however with time and strength gathering in the thread I will let the blade evolve to higher calibur weaponry. Though I know I should not have to tell you this I will anyway seeing as how I feel rather strongly about it; since your character is only 7 he will need to be blind to the outside world and struggle. Being taken away from his parents and haveing no real knowledge of how society views a youngster it will be very difficult for him to talk to strangers and make friends. I must end this post for tonight, Answers to questions by other posters and plus the granting of your three powers Sho are soon to follow.

So far I love both characters, keep it up people and I have a feeling that this thread will be long lasting and exciting.

Thanks Rone. I deliberately posted those powers with an open end. I just gave you the hints of what powers and potentials Severen has. You'll just have to let me know what my powers are and I will work with.

As for the views of the society, Severen will be fine. Understand that now he has a connection with his soul (the angel) and he has learned alot of history at his age. Honestly, it will be perfect for him to experience the adult world.

Now, you'll have to help me with the .mm's How does the .22 differ from .9?

Hopefully, this thread will have a booming effect so I can bring in my other chara.

How long are we to wait to start up the thread?

Alright,Thanks for the powers but I was accutally wondering if you might rethink them.No offense but I really don't want a weapon like that or bullets like that,I really just wanted a shotgun,I mean I really dont care but thats what my character usually uses.So I was hoping I could get some more like power powers than material positions becuase if your looking from where the Liberators are comming from,they dont have much:Most money goes to the cause and to people who dont wanna fight.

TS, it is two Deities at war. There will be super-natural things over the human beings. You just have to keep that in mind. I'm sure Rone will be matching up the fights. Besides, Sev is only a young kid, while Derek is an experienced soldier; so you will have an advantage over Sev for a while.

Sev has the powers growing inside him, but it doesn't mean he'll be using it. Hopefully there will other characters that will come against the Libs, IEs, and Survivalists.

Mantra, yes. I think Rone is thinking of doing total collapse of the world. Jesus won't be coming to only United States. We aren't that special from the rest of the world.

I shall be kind and replace 1 power/gift, 5000$ has been stripped from you bank account. Replaced with:

1. Telekenisis lvl 1; at current strength you can lift and throw things with you mind with a weight no greater than 50lbs. Distence of the throw: 0-5lbs; 100 yards, 5-15lbs; 50-70 yards, 15-25lbs; 20-30 yards, 25-50lbs; 10 yards. You can lift all weights no higher reletive to the distence that you can throw it. Naturally if you lift a 0-5lbs object to a height of 100 yards it will fly father than if you only just threw it from eye level. However it will be much harder to hit from a height since you do not see where it is directly. Max reach at lvl 1 is 10 feet, you must be close to the item in order to lift it and you must see it.

I think that is a good replacement and should match your other two quite well. I realized the other night that 5000$ is lame so I had already determined to change it.

For Mantra;

Sho is basically right, What happend is both Jesus and Satan came down to the world in 2049 and without regaurd to social or economic ties called followers to them. Millions left their jobs to join the side they wanted. More people it seemed joined with Heaven Sent than Demonic Graces, However in a military aspect the group Heaven Sent is weak, many belive that thier God will help them fight while those in the Demonic Graces while outnumbered are militarilly supieror to Heaven's forces. So this is the reason to the Social and Economic collapse. People realized that thier jobs were not as important as religous views that many had thought just a myth suddenly came true. In the span of a year, many companies with no one to run them shut down, powerplants and other government programs such as police and fire forces abbandoned their jobs, the common family that caused the economy to drive forward, gave up their money to their lord of choice. You can easily see how something like this would devostate the world economy. Even countries that have no faith in Jesus would feel the backlash from the war of the Deities. There you have it the time is Januaray 1, 2050; many cities look abandoned and those that are populated are in horrible condition with no one to repair roads buildings or even take out the trash. Processed foods are still on the shelf at supermarkets and most of the meats have already been taken or are rotting on the shelf. Thank you for the smart words earlier anyway I suppose you want your powers.

1. Empathy lvl 1; a power you can use as easily as lifting your arm. You can detect what one person is feeling. In battle it can be used to cause your opponent into making a mistake by exploiting his feelings, and out of battle it will give you a better understanding of the people around you. Not everyone will be affected by this power. Now unless your character has an ability or item that blocks mental powers if this character uses his empathy skill on you, you must describe what your character feels at the particualar moment in time. This goes for any character that I happen to be playing as well. It is just like in a Lit fight you have to play off each other.
2. Searing Light lvl 1; With this power that can only be used once a day, lit time, you can summon 3 inches in diameter or a combination of smaller lights that add up to 3 inches. However since your control is low at current you can only have a max of 3 of these balls. This power is basically a ball of white hot light that can littertally Sear the flesh off of bone if struck. It is only meant to strike flesh so it cannot peirce armor, your degree of control is very limited and at the moment you can control the light about as good as you could a baseball after its been thrown. You can set it in the direction you want it to go and give it a little spin to control the flight path but that is about it. At higher levels control and size will increase. This is a very devostating power and it will take sometime for it to become stronger. At current it is the strongest power given to any character.
3. Runaway; with this power you can flee from any battle not going your way and take with you the knowledge you had collected thus far. It is what every child wishes they could do sometime, run and hide. You just have an ability that casts a fake image of you still fighting while you flee. Keep in mind that stronger opponents will not be fooled. This can only be used to run, you cannot double back and strike from behind that is another type of power. However there is nothing to say that after your fake image is defeated that you cannot go and fight the same guy again.

While I aggree that the child has merged with his soul and has a etheral strength to it he is still in the body of a seven year old. The difference between firing a .22 and a .9 is pretty big. While you could fire a .9 your accuracy would be very low, and hard to control after you pulled the trigger durring your fights. I determeined that you would want control over power. This is a temporary restriction that will be released with time and experience.

I shall soon be posting my main character, though I will play quite a few characters for fights on all sides, my main character is one that I will use most often. Think of it as if you are playing a paper game and the GM is playing a character on a regular basis. He/she may fight you or not but either way it will help things along.

Now questions/comments:

1. The power of empathy lv.1 I will know how the person I am checking out is feeling at the moment and as well I can distract my opponent with it. Is this right?

2. Searing light, how will I summon it? Can I hold it with my own hands? Which means I'm immune to the light right? Also, I can use this as a path of light, which is cool! How long does the light illuminate/burn?

3. Cool, just like the ability of all the main charas in Final Fantasy! And you are right, every kid would love an option to run and hide to learn from the mistake or the things that a kid can't handle.
