I tend to empty the place. How about some tips on chatting for those of us who are either too wordy, too slow or too dumb? I feel like all of those in chat.

Yup, your thread title says it all.

I think we are all at the bb in the first place because we are comfortable with this format. Otherwise we'd be in the "regular" Lit chat. I know some do both, but they are just oddballs.

Well I guess I am the "oddball". I love both of them. Each gives me something to stimulate my mind!

The BB gives me time to think out my answers and make intelligent conversation with people, but it takes so long.

Chat keeps me thinking. I have to be on the ball, witty comments and all! It keeps me on my toes & I get a quick feedback to my flirting.

So I am glad to be an oddball. And I love both venues!

I've tried a couple of times to get into the IRC Lit Forum chat ... never works on my puter. I've used IRC chat previously, and prefer Java.

The regular Lit Chatroom use to be a ball when the old gang hung out there. Now, whenever I stop in, I don't recognize anyone anymore.

The GB is much different, less spontaneous/instantaneous, kind of gives you time to implant your foot firmly down the throat. Friends are a little harder to make (tough crowd at times). But, one nice thing is that people can show up at different times of the day and interact in ongoing conversations. Nice bunch of people here, too.

It might be fun to have a 'GB' chatroom in the regular Lit chat, if only for a scheduled party. (I think bratcat suggested that once) I know there are a few of us old chatters, who now frequent the GB, who could entertain you and give you a different perspective of interactive chat fun.

My online g/f and I have wondered the same thing.

It used to be that chat boards were everywhere. But, the number of really interesting -- or permissive -- boards has dwindled to a very few.

Perhaps that's why BB formats are even more popular today.
