After divorcing my husband over a year ago and using the some of the settlement to give myself a makeover (which included blonde highlights, a bit of Botox here and there, a touch of Restalyn to accentuate a slight pout to my lips, and the firm fullness of my new 36C cleavage) I moved my son Kyle and I to this new community.
I didn't expect Kyle's moody behavior to continue over having to start his senior year in a new High School. It only seemed to increase and become a resentful outlook once he became friends with a group of five boys he met when he was given detention - a first for him - due to being rude to a teacher. I instantly disliked this new group of boys, especially the one they all looked up to named Chad, who clearly had a smug arrogance behind his handsome, clean cut looks that allowed him to be seen by other parents and teachers as a role model. But I wasn't fooled.
So when a few days before the school's Parent/Teacher night held in the auditorium, Kyle told me his History teacher Mr. Gale was flunking him and "out to get" Kyle "for no reason" when Kyle has always been an A student, I was surprised, but when Kyle asked if I could "maybe dress kind of hot" to the Parent/Teacher night so when Mr. Gale would meet me for the first time and know I'm Kyle's mom, he would be "so blown away" by learning I was Kyle's "hot mom" that he would forget all about wanting to flunk Kyle. Considering Chad and the other boys would be attending the Parent/Teacher night with their parents, it became clear to me that they had put my son up to asking me to wear something "kind of hot" so they could think I was unaware of just who's idea it really was.
I decided it was time to teach the boys - and Kyle - a lesson. So, I pretended to be upset at the idea of Mr. Gale picking on my son for "no reason" and told Kyle, "I will make sure Mr. Gale knows I will not stand for this."
As the week drew closer to the Friday night of the Parent/Teacher event, I had three outfits picked out and still couldn't decide which one to wear.
