The Outsiders OOC (Auditions and Applications for casting now starting.)

This is not the Book or the Movie Outsiders but rather this will be the DC comics 3rd version. Started by Roy Harper Jr. (Arsenal) After crisis.

If that made no sense that's ok, it's referencing comics of which I hope characters will come from. So please No TV versions or original/custom heroes. DC has produced more than enough people in the Outsiders and Titan's Cast lists.

In some way this is a short continuation of the Teen Titans thread Jeffinator started, But mostly not as none of the characters are being Reprinted. I will be reprising my Role as Roy Harper Jr. I will likely be doing some minor villan roles but no more than one or two and never more than two roles simultaneously. Just not that good a writer, to be three people all at once.

Wiki Articles are Here if you're looking for a person and I hope to do small walk-ons like a Guest Starring in comic book. So Almost Any DC Superhero/ine can make a walk on if you post a person and a plot and are approved. We're also looking for a lot of Villans to show up at some point. Though hopefully not all at once.

(We don't have Superman or Batman, we can't do that. )

Other than that this is interest gathering and I hope it will be a lot of fun, to go through. Most of the Other comic threads have enjoyed a good degree of success and witha smaller cast and being able to keep a small guide I hope that I'll be able to keep a really good story in this.

Some quick guidelines, THESE ARE IMPORTANT TO READ.

I'm looking for story and while I don't care too much about sex, it will not be the focal of this RP. So If you're only looking to get laid I'll pass.

I am looking for writers so I'll ask questions and If I pass on you don't take it too hard. There may still be a role somewhere for you and I'll keep looking for Guest star spots. And of course Villans.

No Uber people or customs. DC has enough people who can work. So Shortlist includes Superman, Batman, Supergirl, Martian Manhunter, Any Lantern. anyone who can basically Dust a god without trying.

Please no God moding. There are reasons for everything. I understand.

But attacks hit sometimes, the goodguys suffer losses sometimes, and you're just plain outclassed sometimes. It only pisses a lot of people off when it happens, and hurts the thread.

Please do not Walk onto the IC thread with no other warning. The IC will be a closed thread, and will require that you be approved into the story. So Post here first and wait for an arc to be given to you via PM. I'll try hard to get things in.

Name: Karen Beecher-Duncan
Alter Ego: Bumblebee
Age: 26
Personality: Intelligent and striaght-forward, she knows what she's wants in life and how to take charge when the time comes. A woman who can work well under pressure and even more so in a crisis. She's a bit snarky and can be something of a comedian without even trying but that's just her natural appeal and she takes it all in strides.

Abilities: Having no born or begotten abilities like most of the superheroes, Bumblebee is an ivy league scientist able to create the necessary equipment needed to assist her fellow team as well as herself.
Of them is her solar-powered suit which enables her to fly (via bee-like wings), fire sonic force blasts, and unleash electrical 'stings' from specially made gun-blasters she likes to call stingers. Her suit also enables her to change her human size to that of an insect.

History: Bumblebee and her husband are among the heroes recruited by Donna Troy to help avert a coming crisis that threatened the existence of the universe. After a battle in space, most of the heroes were trapped by a Zeta Beam Ray that Adam Strange was hoping to use for teleporting away the heroes from the rift in space. Due to the ray interactions with the rift itself, the Zeta Ray altered Bumblebee's physiology, apparently transferring her body mass to Hawkgirl. This left Bumblebee approximately six inches in height.

Bumblebee must now take medicine developed by Doom Patrol leader Niles Caulder to prevent her heart from going into cardiac arrest, due to her tiny form. Though she is no longer with Doom Patrol she has come to work with the Outsiders in hopes of finding a way to alter her size and return to normal.

Her seperation from her husband is in part due to her tiny size, finding no room for intimacy. While they are not legally divorced their seperation is mutual, giving her husband (Vox) space to explore his options while she in turn tries to find a fiesable way to return to her normal size.

Personality: Starfire is, too many, naive and somewhat insecure, but she is absolutely not stupid--the main cause for her confusion is the lack of understanding she has of different cultures that does not resemble her own. Spending time on Earth, however, she has matured over the years and became well adapted to its complexity.

Abilities: Starfire's alien physiology constantly absorbs ultraviolet radiation and converts it to energy, for various purposes. She is able to use this energy for:

Flight: which leaves a distinctive energy contrail behind, looking at if it is coming directly from her hair.
Starbolts: the ability to channel and project that same energy into destructive blasts called "starbolts".
Ligustical Assimulation: She is also capable of assimilating other languages through physical contact with another person.
Superhuman Strength: Starfire possesses superhuman strength--the uppermost level of which is not known as yet, but it is much greater than that of normal human beings.

Bio: Princess Koriand'r was the second of three children. Her sibling Komand'r betrayed her planet and she was enslaved as ransom. Enduring years of torture, she eventually fled to Earth and took a liking to it, joining the Titans and eventually the Outsiders. Starfire has served as mentor/teacher to the latest roster of Titans, and also began serving with the Outsiders

Geo-Force has the powers of gravitakinesis and geokinesis, which allows him to use elements of the earth like sand rocks and also manipulate objects on their journey thru the atmosphere


Bio

Brion is Prince of Markovia who came upon his powers with the aid of Dr. Helga Jace who helped in battle Baron Bedlam who was mounting an insurrection. Since then his elder brother was murdered (By Doctor Jace) and he is the keeper of his half sister's Terra secret. He is regent of Markovia until his nephew comes of age.

Brion has a habit of hooking up with female teammates.

Bried history: (Depending on the retcon in question...here goes. I am sort of picking bits from several)
During the 12th year after the creation of the Princess Diana of Themyscira, came an uneasiness within the Princess. For many hours, the ancient Amazon Magala watched the young Princess undergo her Amazon training. The gifts from the gods made Diana the most powerful among the Amazons. In spite of all the powers, the love from her mother the Queen, and the love of her Amazon sisters, Diana still had an emptiness within her. Magala asked the Princess what was wrong during a summer day. Diana admitted that she was lonely. She wanted someone to play with. Magala had a way to honor this request through magic.

Magala showed Diana a beautiful piece of glass that only showed her reflection inspite of its mirror-like form. Magala had woven a spell to recreate a duplicate of Diana. As Diana walked away from the mirror by instruction of Magala, the image followed her. Donna Troy, in essence, was born. Diana was surprised that the new form was not a reverse image of her as it looked in the glass. Magala explained that the nature of the spell was not a reflection, but a separation of the Princess's life at a moment in time...dissected in two. Now it lived independantly and given a life of its own.

Days and weeks went by as Diana and her 'avatar' played with each other as Magala looked on. Diana adored this duplicate. She even had her go to class when she decided to play on the island. The creation of the duplicate remained a secret to all the other Amazons, even the Queen.

Six months later, evil would came to Paradise Island. Dark Angel, from the World War II era, came to kidnap the young Princess Diana from her mother as a form of punishment. Both Dark Angel and Wonder Woman (Queen Hippolyta during World War II) were in constant battle during World War II for both the Allies and Axis powers. Instead of the Princess, the duplicate was taken. She was forced to live out different lives of different women in extremely painful relationships by Dark Angel. The amount of lives that the duplicate assumed is not known. Upon her disappearance, Queen Hippolyta raced to her daughter's chambers. She instincitively knew something was wrong. Upon entering young Diana's chambers, she discovered her daughter reading, nothing was wrong. The Queen instructed her soldiers to cover Paradise Island in a search for anything unusual. They found nothing.

Princess Diana searched out Magala in hopes of finding her duplicate. Magala admitted that she had not seen the duplicate in almost 10 days. Magala told the young Princess that the spell must have disappated. Diana asked if she could re-initiate the spell, but Magala advised against it. So Diana grew up alone from that point on.
(For the sake of kindness I will refrain from her retcons and the whole multilife history and skip on to the Teen Titans.)
At the age of thirteen, Donna was returned to Earth, to the United States specifically, her memory of New Chronus wiped out. Unbeknownst to herself, Donna's new purpose was to learn about her homeworld's culture and, when fully matured, return to New Chronus and assume godhood. In place of these memories, Donna believed she had been saved by a fireman after which she grew up in the Kanigher Orphanage and went to a nearby elementary school.

Once Donna returned from new Chronus, or, as she believed, finished grade school, Donna read about the defeat of Mr. Twister
at the hands of Robin, Aqualad and Kid Flash. She made a costume based on the American flag, named herself Wonder Girl, and joined the young heroes. A residual memory prompted her to suggest "The Teen Titans" as a name for their teenage group.

Donna dated Speedy after he joined the group full-time, but Donna also swooned over any handsome male that the Titans encountered, especially rock stars. During the latter days of the first Teen Titans, Donna's teenybopper demeanor disappeared. Her relationship with Speedy and a new apartment made Donna a more human character. Gone also were the golden eagle on red tunic, blue star-spangled shorts and ponytail. Donna designed a sleeker outfit of red and decorated it with a line of stars. With her hair let down, she became the new Wonder Girl who still lacked knowledge of her past.

Yet another change in life and style came as Donna became Troia, one bad outfit which I will skip her for all our sakes, and she was on to the current look. A sleek black body suit seeming to shine with the heavens themselves. Stars glitter in her hair and costume as proff of her divine heritage of Amazon, Goddess and Heroine.

Donna has resumed her relationship with Arsenal shortly after reforming the Outsiders. Having never really gotten over her first love it was all too easy to fall back into the willing and ready arms of the red headed archer.

Hola. If it's still open, I'd like to take the role of Nightwing. I don't think I've RP'd with any of you folks before but I know my comic books and can be very wordy when inspired, as I think this thread will make me.

Dick Grayson grew up as a superhero. After the murder of his acrobat parents, the young boy was taken in as a ward by Bruce Wayne. Wayne, in his guise as the costumed hero Batman, raised the boy as his sidekick. Training him in combat as well as detective skills. His adolescent years were spent at his benefactor's side, doing battle with all manners of villains. As Robin, Dick also was a founding member of the Teen Titans.

Eventually wanting to make his own mark on the world, Grayson gave up the mantle of Robin to Jason Todd and became the costumed hero known to the world as Nightwing, fighting with both the Outsiders as well as the Titans. He's also been a police officer in Bludhaven.

Despite frequently feuding with his mentor, Nightwing has become a costumed vigilante with a great deal in common with Batman. He relies on first rate combat skills, gadgets and detective work instead of any actual meta-human powers. He's also had several significant relationships within the super-hero community, most notably with Oracle and Starfire.

Alter ego: Liberty Belle(former). Jessie Quick(Current).
Bio: The daughter of Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle. She originally followed in her father's footsteps with his speed formula. She served with The Titans for a period and then afterwards with the loss of her powers she became the Curator of the JSA museum. During that time she had discovered that she had access to her mothers' powers and briefly served in the JSA as Liberty Belle. She has recently made a revelation that she still has access to her fathers' powers. So with her powers conbined she has gone back to the name Jessie Quick. Not wishing to upstage Jay Garrick Jessie has left the JSA and is seeking to step into a place of her own.

Floyd Lawton is a master marksman and assassin who began his career as one of Batman's foes, and has moved on to being semi-employed by the US government as a member of the Suicide Squad.

When not working for them, he is usually either working solo or is with members of the most recent incarnation of the Secret Six. This group was formed by Lex Luthor (in disguise as Mockingbird) to thwart the aims of the Society that his imposter Alexander Luthor had assembled.

Lawton is often depressed and suicidal, but not to the point of trying to kill himself, he merely has a death wish that flares to various degrees depending on what's happening in his life at the time.

He is a master of a multitude of weapons, especially guns and similar devices. His usual weapons of choice are silenced automatics mounted on the wrists of his costume.

Name: Bartholomew "Bart" Henry Allen
Alter Ego: The Flash, Kid Flash (former), Impulse (former)
Age: 21

Personality: Once confident, impulsive, innocent, and honest to a fault, Bart has changed a great deal since he and the other speedsters vanished into the Speed Force. Bart is serious, often doubting his ability to control his powers or live up the standards of his predecessors. He is earnest and still somewhat naive, but takes more time to think before he acts these days. Bart is dedicated to the mantle of the Flash, now that he was taken it up, and wants to become a worthy inheritor. On rare occasions, the bright optomism of his youth resurfaces, but not often in his current circumstances. More than anything, Bart is lonely. All of his friends are either dead, suddenly four years younger than him, or in an alternate dimension/future that never happened. Bart is a social young man, who always liked being with others, and now he is almost completely alone.

Abilities: As The Flash, Bart is the fastest being alive. His top speed is unknown, but it has been intimated that he is capable of surpassing that of his predecessors. Bart can not only move at super speed, but think and heal at an accelerated rate. His speed allows him to perform a number of super human feats; such as running up walls, on water, vibrating through solid objects and more. Bart is also able to read and learn at inhuman rates, with near perfect retention. His speed powers are not entirely under his control, Bart often going too fast to apply them properly. In one case he went too fast running up a building and nearly launched himself into space.

As a chronal anomaly, Bart is resistant to time manipulation. He was shown immunity to aging effects, and an ability to remember timelines even if the present is altered. It is unknown if this ability has survived his recent ordeals.

History: Born in the 30th Century, Bart is the grandson of the second Flash, Barry Allen. He was born with out of control super speed powers that aged his body and mind at accelerated but different rates. At age two, his body was twelve and his mind six. Bart's mother (his father Don Allen was murdered by his maternal grandfather) Meloni sent Bart back in time with Iris Allen to the 21st century to get the help of the third Flash, Wally West. Wally was able to shock Bart's system into aging normally, but refused to mentor the youth. Bart was given into the care of Speed Force guru and venerable speedster Max Mercury. He learned a modicum of control with Max, as well as serving as a member of Arsenal's New Titans and Young Justice. When the Teen Titans were reformed, Impulse was included but on his first night with the team, he was shot in the knee by Deathstroke. Frustrated at being beaten so easily, depressed over his injury, and fed up with being seen as a fool even by his friends, Bart started to take things more seriously, taking up the legacy of Kid Flash.

In the recent Crisis, Kid Flash and the Flash vanished into the Speed Force, taking the murderous Superboy-Prime with them. Bart reappeared a week later, four years older, wearing Barry Allen's Flash costume, and warning of Superboy-Prime's return. After the Crisis, Bart claimed he no longer had any powers and retired from the hero community to try and live a normal life.

However, the truth was that Bart was more powerful than ever, but his abilites were out of control and dangerous to himself and others. A series of events in Keystone City forced him into action, assuming the mantle of the Flash and returning to being a hero. He has not yet gained complete control over his powers, but wearing the Flash suit (made of a unique material created by Barry Allen) helps keep them in check. He has appeared publicly as the Flash, the hero's return celebrated worldwide, though few know that it is Bart in the costume, not Wally West.

I was pretty bummed to hear about Nodell dying. He really started a great legacy, and did a lot for the idea and mythos of super heroes.

Having said that, and not wanting to be disrespectful, but is there any sort of timetable for getting things moving here? I really like the cast we're putting together and I'd love to get started, you know? Just asking. I realize that everyone's damn busy this time of year.

I'd be fine if this ends up getting pushed back to past the New Year even, just so long as I knew that folks wouldn't be leaving it behind for good.
