Today is the last day for entries for the Nude Day Contest. The next themed contest starts only weeks from now:

Summer Lovin'
themes: warm weather, summer activities, bikinis, etc.
starts: August 21
closes: September 6
winners announced: September 13

This thread is to SUPPORT and ENCOURAGE authors to enter stories in the Summer Lovin' contest.

There is an advantage to entering stories in one of Literotica's themed contests, apart from the possibility of winning, and that is that your story gets far more exposure and attention than it would normally do.

Some of that attention might be unwelcome, some abusive, but some could be appreciative and helpful.

One ready. One has to be reviewed and go to the editor and then it's ready.

Still, it seems weird to be starting a summer theme contest late in August. (and it's not because of the proximity of the Nude Day contest. The summer contest has been around a lot longer.)

Six weeks, no problem.

Uh.... I think I said much the same thing with Nude Day.

I won't get my last Nude Day thang done in time so it'll get shifted to Summer Lovin', no problem. If I have a chance to write. I leave tomorrow on a two-month road trip and might not have much keyboarding time. C'est la fucking vie. "Screwin' in the sunshine, sing a little sunshine song..."

One of my last year's drafts is now at 6,500 words.

A couple more are at 3,000 or so. Whether I'll finish them? Other factors could influence that.

Excited for this. Working on 4. Two mother/son. One lesbian. One group sex.

I have my idea for my story, and I had thought to get a head start on it tonight, but then I figured it would be a gorgeous night for a fire in the back yard, and I remembered that I have Riesling.
I'm sure I'll get on it at some point, but for now, wine and fire wins.

A firepit and some riesling sounds like great inspiration for a story.

Well, I meant for you, but I'll let you know if I need that scene. :D

I already have a story on here that contains a backyard fire and alcohol.
Scene is all yours if you want it.

Bump to remind authors to keep writing.

Your stories keep this site refreshed every day.

I hope to submit two stories this year. Both will be big - 23K and 32K words.

I was surprised and disappointed to see that I haven't submitted a story since last year's contest. I've been writing, but I've run into different problems. The stories I want to write are big, which causes lots of problems. I wrote 30K one on story and was finally getting close to the final (and only) sex scene when I realized that it wasn't that interesting of a story. After the I finished the first draft of the 32K story, I couldn't find the energy to edit the monster.

My story I submitted has been one of my most popular stories. I got a comment on it yesterday and that was after getting a comment on it the week before. I don't get many comments, so I'm always jazzed when I do.

As usual with a themed contest I have a story that I started last year, or maybe the year before. A few months ago I thought it was a really premise that I could finish this time. But once again I'm stumped and may have to completely revise it, or start from scratch.

Don't count on me this year. Again.

I have a heap of unfinished Earth Day stories. I might be able to rewrite one as Summer Lovin', or maybe not. :D

Damnit--you beat me to it. That's basically my entire summer in a nutshell. (I wish)

Summer in my city = streets that reek of trash and cat piss, buses that reek of body odor, and 90% humidity.
Actually, that last part gives me an idea ;)

Throw in bums passed out covered in their own puke and you'd be describing the street I grew up on. Ugh

I live and work within spitting distance of two huge universities. The puke-covered, passed-out bums in my neighborhood are college students.

I don't think I'll be including them in my entries.

Aw come on, they add ambiance.

Well, that sounds like a lovely environment...

...and that picture just keeps getting prettier.

Writing for a bit, slash just waiting for that nice ocean breeze to settle down, so that tonight may be another fire night. :p
Gewürztraminer anyone?

In the southern hemisphere it is mid winter. Anything I contribute is bound to romanticise the warmth more than the characters. My fingers are so cold they hurt on the keyboard. I think I'd give myself an anuerism if I wrote something which inspired self manipulation.

Maybe a story about someone who escapes to the northern hemisphere because they miss being at the beach? Yadda yadda, vacation sex...
