Summer's coming, and you know what that means: fewer clothes! And Lit has the contest where your characters (or you, if you want) can take it all off -- the 2013 Nude Day contest.

National Nude Day (July 14)
themes: public nudity, exhibitionism, etc.
starts: June 20
closes: July 11
winners announced: July 18

This is the only official contest. So take it all off and write it all down!

Some of us got an early start. I'm working n a couple of different ones.

I'm such a newb

I want to submit to the Nude Day Contest, but don't know how. I'm asking even as my cheeks grow red with embarrassment because the answer is probably very simple. Be kind. :)

I said I had no interest in the Nude Day contest. My entry is written and with the editor now, though. :D

Watch for an announcement on what/how from Laurel in the sticky thread section above in maybe three weeks. (The sticky on the last contest--the Earth Day one--is still up above, so you can see what the instructions; they won't really change for the Nude Day contest.) But essentially you just submit as you would submit any story but include a special tag in the "notes" box of the submission. There are instructions on how to submit a story to Literotica starting from the Web site home page. Do join it. It's a fun exercise as long as you don't take the competition too seriously.

I'll probably submit something. I didn't intend to submit it originally, but it's taken so long, thanks to school, that I might as well just submit it to the contest now, since it's so close.

And Sully, don't worry about not being sure about how to submit. It's like submitting any other story, except in the notes field, you need "NUDE DAY STORY CONTEST 2013." Also, it should have to do with nudity, but that's kind of self-explanatory, and most stories would probably fit anyway. You can submit it early, and Laurel will hold onto it until the contest begins, or you can wait until nearer the contest begins. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Most of us don't bite without being asked.

Dunno if I'll have time or inspiration for this one. It seems like an easy thing to do, write a story about people getting naked. But I think I filled that bill in my Earth Day story. Hmm. Maybe I could write a sequel . . . .

Here is a link to last year's contest entries, and there's a link at the top to the rules, which don't change from year to year, at least not much. That should get you started. Good luck! :)

Might put up something as RR if I get a flash of inspiration. Probably half of my RR stories are one day idea->first draft.

Beyond that, I'm already up to my neck in editing a 55k word story and working on the next chapter of SOTM... finally.

Maybe Summer Lovin' for my next substantive story. Not that I don't love my RR stories ( because I wouldn't post them if I didn't ) but they're exactly one step above "Is there another way I can pay for this pizza?" by design *laugh*

Got what I think is a pretty good idea and a few hundred words into it, mostly just plugging away as the story comes to me.

Still drawing a blank here, but I've been editing 55k words of one story, working on another multi-parter I've been puttering around with for eons, finished two new RR stories, and got back to writing on SOTM.

Not much muse time left for anything else.

This really needs to be on page one, as it's getting closer. Can't have anyone saying they weren't alerted, now can we?

I agree, this is the official site and needs to stay on the top of the front page. So far my mind is blank. Was working on a story but it doesn't fit nude day. Oh well, guess I'll see what happens.

Writing plenty right now ( w00T! ) but nothing that fits the theme. I'm not devoting much muse time to the thought, but my RR stories seem to come out of nowhere a lot of the time. I don't stress on the short strokers as much, so it's easier for me to release those into the wild.

I've got a couple started but ain't having much luck here at work finding writing time.

I have the making of a Nude Day story floating around amongst the other stuff in my head; now to see if I can coax the little bugger out.

Good luck to everyone else! Have fun!

I recently finished my 3rd story, and I'm already working on my Summer Lovin entrees. :)

And there's that sudden flash *laugh*

Put everything else on hold while it's still fresh in my mind and have 1500 words already written. I'll probably finish the set-up tonight, then take care of the naughty bits and the ending tomorrow.

Still plenty of time to pass the remaining seven chapters of Lowborn through my editor before the contest starts as well. So, no worry about an interruption for the contest story breaking the flow there and possibly letting things slip through.

Unless something goes seriously wrong, it looks like I'm in :)

I keep thinking that it would be funny to write a story about a rogue senator who gets a law passed that all members of Congress must be nude at all times--and hilarity ensues. No more lunches at Morton's, because everyone's working out at the Congressional gym. No more taking bribes; you've got no pockets to stick them in.

Caucuses no longer break down to Dem/Rep/Other; it's cut, uncut, and chicks. (Maybe the chicks would subdivide by how Brazilan v. all-natural.)

I just can't find the narrative in it.

Working 12 hours a day is really eating into my erotica writing as well. I have my Halloween story planned, a multiparter stalled out at around 90k words, a good idea for Summer Lovin' AND my first entry into Loving Wives all written out in my head. (I want to be shark chum too, apparently.)

Need. Free. Time.

Try this.

Senator orders his aid to stay up all night and get the copy of the bill he needs finished. The aid is pissed because it wrecks plans he had. So....he buries this clause in the bill. He words it in such a way that It looks like a typo.

This is an important bill. There is a huge push to get it passed and signed before the end of session. Every one is just signing it without reading it. (That does happen)

They pass it.

A white house intern (probably the only person in Washington who reads the whole damn thing) finds the clause and tries to get the president to not sign it, but fails.

Do the story from the point of view of the intern. Could be a fun write and read, but you have to hit the political workings spot on or it wont look right.

I had an idea brewing about a small but progressive town, maybe a suburb to a major city known for its unconventional views (like Austin or Santa Fe), that passes a law allowing casual nudity within city limits. But I have a feeling I would get bogged down in the reactions and politics of the situation and not have much left over for anything "juicy."

I dunno. Maybe once I finish my FAWC submission, I may give it a go.
