I wonder too, although I would not call this "Obama's oil spill" anymore than I thought of Katrina as W's hurricane.

No one in America had a problem tagging W with Katrina, and few hesitated to do it. Obama said on teevee that he's responsible for the oilspill now, and I believe him.

He might say that, but I doubt that many will hold The Annointed One to anything as pedestrian as an oil spill when he is busy being the Savior of the world. Most news media won't.
I think a good many had a problem tagging W as being completely responsible for Katrina. The city and state could have done a lot more than they did. I remember seeing dozens of school buses under water, and I coldn't help thinking how they could have taken thousands to safety. You might accuse the fed. gov. of failing to pick up the fumble after the lower govs had booted it around, but no more than that.

What puzzles me is why the fools of New Orleans didnt leave when they could.
Inertia and incompetence afflict every government in times of crisis; officers either dont know what to do or wont do what they can. Go back as far as you want in history, and inertia-incompetence are always around at the beginning of any emergency.
I suspect plenty of Americans have had it with Obama. I mean, James Carville climbed up Obama's ass earlier in the week; Peggy Noonan sez Carville's snit is a signal to Democrats that Obama is toast with Democrats that matter.
