This issue does not deserve the attention it is getting. It affects a statistically insignificant part of the population. But since we 're talking about it, I have a few questions. Why have we accepted "transgenderism" essentially without critical analysis? What if it is a mental illness? I think Bruce Jenner is mentally ill. The bathroom thing is really ridiculous. How much time are people spending in public toilets? I'm in and out of there in two seconds. I don't look at anyone, and they don't look at me. However, with respect to this law, let me ask you this. When I go to the ball game, there's always a line for the Ladies Room, but the Men's Room is usually much faster. If a girl says, "I'm not waiting", and decides to use the Men's Room, there's nothing that can be done about it. You can't stereotype a tranny. You don't have to formally declare yourself as a tranny or register as such. And there's no reason a man couldn't use a Ladie's Room if he wanted to. The NC law doesn't seem unreasonable to me, but I really don't care. So few people are transgendered, I'll probably never cross paths with one, especially in my nape of the woods.

You couldn't pay me to use the men's restroom, no matter how badly I need to go. I have no issue with transgenders using the restroom they identify with. The problem is that extremists think what this is all about, like with Target, is that Target is saying any woman who wants to use the men's restroom and any man who wants to use the women's, can. Which is not what Target is saying.

As far as I'm concerned, women can use the men's room. Just take your used tampons with you when you leave.

I agree that's not what they're saying, but there are always unintended consequences. Can you tell a transgender by looking at one? Lots of lesbians look like men. All a person has to say is "I identify", and there is no legal recourse AND a huge potential legal risk for discrimination.

The legal issue is Title 9 of the 1964 Civil Rights Act says nuthin about transgender and doesn't define what it is. Transgender isn't in the Law's glossary. The Justice Department lawyers say separate but equal restrooms discriminate. But they don't identify who gets harmed.

So, no change whatsoever from how it's been done all along.

When I lived in Illinois, I had a friend who was transgender. I wouldn't have known she was born a male if she hadn't opened up about it. If she had used the men's restroom, it would have been odd to me.

My manager at work is lesbian. She uses the women's restroom. I have no problem with that. And it would be odd if she started using the men's restroom.

I believe that the GOP is so obsessed with sex and so obsessed with proving their family values, as well as not giving a shit about anything else, that they can't do anything els but focus on legislating which restroom people use. Thanks to this mindset, the best they can come up with is a racist, misogynist asshole: Trump.

Do you ever read the ignorant crap you write?

That's how the law works. People write a law for whatever reason, usually to lick a corporation's asshole, and then years later, people look at the law with a relatively new case and say, "Shit. What do we do now?" And that's where the courts come in.

Loretta Lynch destroys North Carolina for ‘state-sponsored discrimination’ against trans people

Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Monday accused the state of North Carolina of “state-sponsored discrimination against transgender individuals.”

Lynch said during a press conference the controversial “bathroom” law targeted transgender people who sought “to engage in the most private of functions in a place of safety and security, a right taken for granted by most of us.”

She also warned that the federal government could curtail federal funding for North Carolina if the state continued to enforce the law.

She noted that the Justice Department had sent a letter to North Carolina governor Pat McCrory, warning that the law violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. But “instead of replying, North Carolina and its governor chose to respond by suing, thus we are filing civil rights lawsuit against North Carolina,” Lynch said.

“What we must never do is turn on our neighbors, our family members, and our fellow Americans for something they cannot control and deny what makes them human. This is why none of us can stand by when a state enters the business of legislation identity and insists a person pretend to be something or someone they are not.”

“This is not the first time we’ve seen discriminatory responses to moments of progress,” she remarked. “This law provides no benefit to society. All it does it harm innocent Americans.”

Lynch also chided North Carolina, saying that “this country was founded on equal rights for all.”

All the Target Stores where I have used the rest rooms have a Men's, a Women's and one that is open to all.

I don't believe this is about rest rooms as much as it is about locker rooms. A women's rest room has stalls that are closed when in use, and nobody can spy on the occupants without crawling on the floor or standing on the seat in the adjacent stall and generally acting the fool. However, in a locker room, the women walk around in varied states of undress, giving the perverts their jollies.

I don't make a habit of using the ladies' rest room, but I have used one whe the men's room was not available

oh, do shut up, JBJ. I assume you're voting for Trump since he says just what you can't get enough of.

I wanted James Webb, the war hero and former senator, navy secretary, and defense secretary, and author of 11 books.

Hillary/Trump is a train wreck brought to you by the nimrods at LADYVER Fantasies.

This bothers me more than a guy listening to me pee. The CDC recommends at least 20 seconds of scrubbing to get your hands clean. This doesn't count the wetting and lathering of soap as well as the rinsing afterwards.

I realize men love to use the excuse "I didn't p*ss on my hands" and I would agree with that, but...you were holding your dick!! I like being asked before I wrap my hand around your shaft, maybe that's just me though.

I don't have a problem with transgender men or women. The gay community was very open when I lived in Seattle and gay guy friends are fabulous!. I do think a little reality is order though. If you still have a dangling participle, you are still a guy, use the mens room. Overuse of makeup and wearing a dress may make you look like a cheap tramp...but it doesn't make you a woman. Look at it in another scenario. A grown man wants to wear diapers and become a baby. Would you let him play with your kids in pre-school?

Just wait until the outcry of the breastfeeding mom is heard. The precious moments in a public bathroom, suckling baby almost asleep and in walks a trasngender man. That cry will be louder than a baby with colic, or when the muslim woman gets beheaded by her husband for being in the restroom with a man. That should get some people to rethink their stance.

Until then, the most important issue is still WASH YOUR HANDS!

I spent one full career in the construction industry. We had no toilet problem, mostly because we used portable toilets or the toilets were fully enclosed like at home. Wer could solve the problem with restroom attendants, to monitor the freaks.

Restroom attendants freak me out.
Having someone sit in a bathroom all day and watch people pee is not an answer I'm comfortable with.
Quite often if I walk in and see one, I turn around and walk straight out.

Yep, that would be your guy. Took a teaching position at the Naval Academy expressly to gather information for an article he was writing on why women shouldn't be permitted at the Naval Academy and then walked away from his contracted job in the middle of the night once he had written the article.

Although I admit that this law would likely have virtually no effect on me, is it not Also true that there would also be no way to prevent deviants from getting their jollies?

SJW job opportunity.

Loretta Lynch is starting shit she cant remedy.

Transgender isn't in the law. Transgender isn't defined in the law. And Congress aint gonna amend the law to include girly-men. And I expect she'll piss off enough folks to hurt Hillary in the general election.

I think you're right. HRC probably wishes she would STFU.

A woman who admitted to using the men's room at a Fargo, North Dakota, concert venue where country superstar Garth Brooks was playing over the weekend said she was unfairly booted because of her brazen bathroom etiquette.

Samantha Bergh told NBC affiliate KVLY that she only commandeered a commode in a FargoDome men's restroom because she was desperate.

"The women's line was a good 100-people long," she said Monday. "It was insanely long and there was no wait for the men's, so I just went into the men's."

But her potty behavior didn't sit well with management. A security guard and Fargo police escorted her and her husband out of the arena, Bergh said.

I had 8 ancestors fight for the Confederacy yet I believe their flag needs to be in a museum rather than on our state capitol. I've always been impressed with how blacks deal with the CSA flag that flies above the CSA cemetery at Savannah. The cemetery is in the black part of town. Blacks leave the flag alone.
