No, no, it's not what you think. A relative has created a maze in a corn field a couple hundred yards from my house. From now until Halloween, it's being advertised as a haunted corn maze. About every 7 minutes, I'll hear the chainsaw rev up, followed by bloodcurdling screams. Nice.

A neighbor in the opposite direction has built himself a gazebo/bandstand and is inviting the older generation once a month to hear local bands. It's bluegrass tonight.

My dogs have taken offense to both of these, and now most of the noise is coming from them.

Well, at least it's interesting.

and you dont think that the chainsaw/scream thing is a bit disturbing!

Yes, well I forgot in the original post to add that it's being advertised as a haunted corn maze from now until Halloween, so that does explain the chainsaw a bit better. Doesn't make it sound any less scary, just explains it a bit better.

Isn't it nice we have the EPA and their noise regulations about operating machinery after certain hours.....

The music wouldn't be all that bad, that is of course, if its any good!

Just be grateful you don't have the loud drunk 3.00am visitors arrive next door every night. I crave an unbroken night's sleep!

you win

Oh, it's not so bad. The dogs try to bark to cover up the chainsaw and the bluegrass (can't blame them), and the kids were playing High School Musical soundtrack in one room and Harry Potter movie in another to cover up the barking dogs. I guess it could be worse.

The music ended half an hour ago, and the hauntings and screams should draw to an end soon. Peace will reign, until tomorrow night at least.
