The nicest thing

What is the nicest thing anyone has ever said about you?

What an interesting question.

It's actually not an easy thing to answer, but ONE of the nicest things happened on here the other week when an author whos stories I particularly enjoy came to me for advice. It turned out that another poster had told him that I was particularly knowledgable about the BDSM scene and he wanted advice for a new story that contains BDSM themes.

Of course I'm happy to share my knowledge, but it's particularly nice when the enquirer is someone I respect for their own skills.

"You're a good man, Tom. A good friend. Now get your head out of your ass!" That was a pep talk from a friend of mine while I was in a particularly nasty moment of depression.

at a workshop on recovery after sexual abuse a woman told me that she "felt safe when around me"

If someone says something nice to me, I immediately start wondering what it is they want :p And the governor was showering prase on me this morning.. *peers suspeciously* I hope he's not gay :p

This is a toughy... There are many compliments but I think the best of the lot isn't so much said as done...

When someone (particularly someone I do not know well) approaches me for a scene.

It speaks of their trust in me, it speaks of the comfort they feel with me, and it speaks of the reputation I have garnered within the BDSM community here.

I have a tendancy to mistrust compliments. Personal compliments, anyway. I can take them about my work, but I guess because I've gotten so few compliments in my life that were honest, I just don't trust them. However, recently here on this board, I've been told that I was respected by a couple of other subs here whom I also respect. That meant a lot to me. To have felt accepted and respected in this community.

My son followed me around for too long the other day. He remarked often on how each little thing I did was so wonderful, so perfect. He said I must have been God's wife at one point because everything I did was so great.

Yeah, he wanted something alright.

Well, at least your son is from the opposite sex :p

Yeah, not sure what that has to do with anything. Oh here's another example:

Someone once told me I had both artistic talent and business sense. That was nice. They wanted something too. They got it. I was happy to do for them what they wanted.

I used to date a man who would regularly ask me "has anyone told you today that you're beautiful?".

Love the av!

That's a nice thing to hear on a regular basis too!

Not two minutes after I posted this, the man that I'm hoping to eventually embark on a serious relationship with (eventually meaning quite a while, when we're finally living in the same area) made a silly comment to me referring to himself as my boyfriend.

I think that trumps the last; in a way it's like he's claimed me already. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy. :)

A nice way to start the week

I arrived at my office this morning to find a card on my desk. It was from one of the ladies who report to me and it was in honor of national bosses day. In it she said that she was in the process of looking for another job they hired me. She decided to hold off and see just what kind boss I was going to be. In short she ended by saying that I am the best boss she has ever had and she’s glad she stuck around.

Wow! That IS nice!!! Good for you! Bad bosses are far more common than good ones!

I made some comment about selling my soul.

He stopped me and said "You would never sell your soul. You would give it away, but you would never sell it."

A lady I met once on lit once told me my asshole gave good kisses.
