In terms of writing, where do you expect to be at the end of 10 years?

I completed a story this AM thats 16500 words; a lot for me, and expect to write bigger stories beginning in 2010.

it ain't so much the word count for me, it's the quality. i get all the ideas in my head - everything sounds really good, but then, when i attempt to get it down on paper - screen, whatever - i lose it; i lose the 3-D edge.

Yes.

I make notes then transfer the notes to the computer. Cause I think of something or come across a better word than what I used. Like, "snap" is better than "flick" when it comes to the sound that cigarette lighters make. Or 'he pinched his boxers and pulled them from the crack of his ass as he padded across the room to get a beer."

Improvement is a relentless quest.

I currently have 19 novels published. I learn something with each novel I write and I hope that I'm improving as a writer. I intend to continue to publish the best quality novels that I can and to build a readership.

I have a sci-fi series, Second Chance, that's selling well and I'll continue to write the series, as long as the sales hold up.

I get good support From Terrie at Club Lighthouse Publications and that helps a great deal.

You need to get with King and Clancy and the rest and clue them in about how to get better.

In ten years, my writing efforts will most likely be focused on writing notes to myself:

"Go to the bathroom after breakfast. Don't forget to wipe."

"The neighbor to the north is Maria. She is not an alien from outer space, she just looks like one."

"Only dial 911 in an emergency. Wanting someone to talk to is not an emergency."

Years ago a guy with Korsakoff's Psychosis used to call me all the time. He seemed pretty normal until the loop started back at the beginning of the conversation and he had no clue we'd talked before. Alcohol pickles their brains.
