David was unhappy. Once again one of his most promising secretary's had been pinched by home office. This made the third one in as many years. Oh they weren't just secretary's, he trained them in all aspects of the company. They became like junior executives while doing his day to day activities, so it was a win win situation, but he was getting fed up with the head office pinching them when he had done all the work.

Of course he could not say no to them. It was not worth his existence to do that and that was what he was risking to do something like that. No what he needed to do was find someone that he could train that head office would never suspect.

He took a walk through the building but everyone was on edge and he got little insight into who would be a good replacement. He supposed it was inevitable. He was the CEO of the place, and when the boss roamed the halls it was bound to cause problems. Well he did have a way around that.

Most of the people in the company were mortals. They went about there day to day jobs never knowing that they were working for a Demon or that working beside them were several demons. In fact 10% of the workforce in the building were demons. Admittedly low level Demons but demons never the less.

David was a higher level demon and had access to a lot more power than the ones working below him. He cast a basic glamor, changing his outward appearance and walked around again as a mailboy, evaluating performance, looking for that special someone that had the intelligence he needed but the right sort of personality he was looking for.

Finally he thought he had found her and he left a note on her desk that she was to report to his office at the beginning of business the next day. He had a night to find out everything he could about her and be ready for her in the morning.

Amaya did not have an easy life and as she looked at the note on her desk, well she guessed her life wasn't getting any easier. Oh yes some people might be happy, they might think they are getting a promotion. Amaya on the other hand wasn't so excited. At least it was tomorrow. She had a night to compose herself and make sure she didn't let on that she was panicking inside. Finally though after a good ten minutes Amaya put the note down, put her wavy black hair behind her ear and began finishing up work, focusing on it.

Then that night Amaya took a shower and got ready for bed before getting on her laptop, bored out of her mind. Amaya was a night owl, she could stay up till 4 in the morning and not get tired. Amaya sighed though. 'This isn't the time for this.' She thought as she shut off her laptop and got into bed. She may be a demon but she couldn't be late for work. Amaya then fell asleep. The next morning Amaya got up and got to work exactly on time, her expression monotone like usual and she took the note, knocking on the boss's office, completely cool and composed. She was wearing a long sleeved black cotton shirt and black jeans. Not because she was a demon but cause she liked the color black. She was also slender, with a flat belly but not skinny and had electric blue eyes. All this helped her to keep her cool calm stance and make other people uncomfortable when talking to her. She hoped this guy would be the same way and she could leave quickly. 'If not I may actually crumble, and that isn't a good idea.' Amaya thought.

David had gotten home and checked up on the person he had selected. He knew her name was Amaya and that she was a Demon. He had been able to sense that much about her, but doubted she would be able to sense the same in him. She was a low level demon and his shields would be able to keep his aura from leaking and being detectable to her.

On a personal level her report read well. She was competent, in fact very competent, but kept to herself. Her supervisors all stated that she held herself apart from her colleagues and that while she had worked as a secretary before she had been demoted back to cubicle work due to being, "To hard to get along with and general coldness of personality."

All of this worked in his favor though. He could put up with someone that acted that way as long as they were efficient and did their job properly. However he knew that head office hated their secretary's to act like that. They needed them bubbly and friendly, ready to put clients at ease the moment they appeared. Maybe he had chosen the perfect candidate, he would just have to see how the interview went tomorrow.

He was in his office sitting behind his desk when the knock came. He glanced at his clock and saw she was precisely on time, a good start. He called for her to enter and as she walked over he examined her thoroughly. She was dressed all in black and with her black hair it certainly made a statement. It did however make her stunningly blue eyes stand out. Her figure was slim but not waif model slim. She was curvy were she was supposed to be and looked healthy.

As she stood in front of his desk she had a cool, calm expression on her face and he smiled. Oh he could feel the nervousness radiating off her in waves, but she hid it well. So far she was passing well.

"Good morning Amaya, please sit down," he said indicating the plush leather chair. He waited until she was seated then continued. "As you are no doubt aware a position has become available as my personal Secretary. This position does not just mean you will be answering my phone and doing paperwork, but also will entail you learning the business from the ground up by following me around. You will in essence become my private aide."

He waited for this to sink in and then continued. "Of course along with the extra hours this job will entail will come a substantial rise in pay as well as a generous remuneration package. Full health cover, a company car, Clothing allowance and several other perks. You will also be expected to accompany me on business trips, both domestic and abroad so I hope your passport is in order."

He looked at her and then took some paperwork out of his desk drawer. "If you would like to just read over these and sign where appropriate you can begin your duties immediately. That is of course provided you want the job."

Once Amaya heard the guy say come in she did silently and quickly, walking over to the chair, giving a quick nod in greeting, her montone expression not changing. She did not sit down however until he said good morning and asked her to. She also gave a short reply. "Good morning to you as well." While in her mind an entirely different answer was going on. 'Good morning?! To hell with that! Why am I here?! I've done everything asked of me, yes I'm hard to get along with since I'm not bubbly but seriously! I say what needs to be said. Why do I have to have a 30 minute conversation over one tiny thing!' While this went on in Amaya's mind though she kept the same silent and uncomfortable to most people expression as she listened to the boss guy.

As Amaya listened her mind started to calm down, and inside she perked up, though on the outside she did nothing. Not a muscle on her twitched. She had to thank years of her mom and dad being so strict for that. Amaya had learned that no one can be trusted, at least not enough to let them know what is really on your mind. Though Amaya inside was happy as she listened. 'Well the health benefits won't really help me, the blood being a bit weird and me not being able to shield from that, but the car is nice and the money for clothes. I really would like some new clothes. Also the longer hours won't bother me anyway. Also of course, my passport is good. I wouldn't have any vacation without it being that.' Amaya then looked at the paperwork and quickly signed before handing it back. "I do like the job. What about stuff in my cubicle." 'What the hell is he talking if I want the job? What does he think I am? Stupid? hell no! If he really is giving me a job and not joking I love this. Helps that I only deal with him too.' Amaya just watched him on the outside though, waiting for his answer, again not moving a muscle as her mind worked faster then light.

David checked over the paperwork to make sure she had signed everything correctly then looked up and smiled. Standing he gestured for her to stand and led her back out the door and showed her to her new desk. it was about double the size of the desk she had been working at, made of pure oak and very expensive. The chair was pure leather and very luxurious. The computer was state of the art and the phone system had a headset and a dedicated line to him. Behind it was several cabinets and filing cabinets and to the right of it was a small kitchen area.

"Right, this is your new desk. You can have a half an hour to gather anything you need from your old cubicle. Feel free to decorate it, but please keep it professional. After that I will guide you through my files, show you my next weeks schedule and then tell you how I wish you to present yourself. If you wish I can even take you shopping for a few outfits so you know exactly how I expect you to dress both at work and at gala evenings."

Amaya sat silently as her boss, he never told her his name, looked over the paperwork. Seriously what was with people. If only people trusted one another things would go quicker. 'Why would I not sign? Was there something in the fine print I don't know about? Ugh this is annoying.' Finally her boss stood and gestured for her to stand, which she did quickly. Almost too quickly for a human but she wasn't worried. It was on the edge but didn't teeter over. Her parents had made sure she didn't go too quick. She still pushed boundaries though.

Her new boss then led her out and showed her the desk she would be working at and although she remained the same as always on the inside her jaw dropped. 'Seriously?! This is my desk? Holy smokes, I love it. There is even a small kitchen! Eek!' Amaya then turned to her new boss as he spoke and when he was done pointed to the kitchen. "Am I allowed to use on lunch break?" Amaya said this in her usual emotionless tone but inside she was pleading. 'Oh please please please let me use it. Please.' On the outside she remained steady, though since it had been so long in monotone without taking a break, one finger twitched slightly. Amaya forced it to remain steady again though as she waited for her boss's answer. She did however speak again. "Take shopping if you want." Amaya on the inside had a little extended answer. 'It's not like I would find any clothes, he is not getting me in a skirt though, he will have to fight me, well though if it's long and loose fitting it's okay. No freaking pencil skirts though or tight fitting ones. I will rip them all to pieces, or cut with scissors if they are too hard to rip. I hate them so much!' Seriously, even with the loose fitting ones her legs got all sticky and tights and pantyhose always hung low since she was high waisted. She would agree if he would get some high waisted leggings. Leggings were nice. But nothing else. she would wear a loose fitting skirt with high waisted leggings so they didn't hang but nothing else. 'Also why would I decorate it? I have nothing to decorate with. I'm getting my notebooks that I write stuff down in, my phone and some other office utensils II use.' Amaya then spoke once more in the usual emotionless voice. "When does my half of an hour start?"

He was surprised at how little emotion she was showing. Oh he had picked her for just that reason, but he had expected her to show some form of gratitude. Still his demonic senses could tell she was excited, but at the same time anxious about something. Answering her question about the kitchen, he told her she could use it at any time she wished, it was at her disposal. He would be asking her to make coffee's or teas for himself and clients from time to time and maybe some small snacks, but there was a budget for that as well. In fact it had a rather good coffee maker in it.

He nodded at her as she told him she liked his suggestion of taking her shopping. He noted how she was dressed. Pants, shirt and a smart coat. Another reason he had hired her. Most of head office preferred their secretaries to wear short skirts or tight figure hugging clothes. Well he could work with her. Some smart female suits and maybe some loose flowing full length skirts, however she would need some smart ball gowns for formal occasions. He was sure he could find a few that would suit her though.

"Very well then Amaya, your half an hour starts now. I will be in my office when you are done. Just knock and come in."

Smiling he left her to it.

Amaya listened to her new boss and nodded slightly and quickly at everything he said, the only movement she made except for the blink of here eyes. Something she didn't have to do but she was supposed to act human. Finally when he answered about the half hour she said nothing and spun around, going to her cubicle. On the way there she ran into Julie, the new secretary of the department that had replaced her earlier in the year. All Julie did was glare and bump Amaya. Amaya just kept going to her cubicle and sighed once she got there. 'Seriously? Did she have to glare? It's not like I did anything special to get into the secretary position. Julie has a secretary position of her own. I remember her smirking and going off on me, the little blonde rat.' Amaya didn't like saying bad things, even in her mind but she just had a thing against Julie. The little blonde girl hadn't even tried to get along with her. So Julie had complained and complained to the head and Julie had replaced Amaya. After about 20 minutes Amaya had gotten everything organized and began making trips back and forth, to the amazement of some of the other people.

Finally then Amaya was done and began setting everything up, which took 5 minutes. Amaya put her carrier bag under the desk first, so it was out of sight. It held her sketchbook, she liked to draw and her laptop. Amaya actually had to confess she used her laptop a lot at her old desk but they had a good one at this one. Amaya also liked the leather chair. After setting everything up, including her notebooks to write things down and everything, she only had a calendar so she could tell what day it was and she put it on the wall, close to her. Amaya actually set everything up close to the wall, and under the calendar on the desk was a notebook, so she knew when she could get people in to see her new boss. Who's name she still didn't know. No offense but she kept to herself, she didn't know the guy's name and he didn't tell her. Amaya wasn't about to ask either. That could be considered rude. Amaya did however when she was done knock on her boss's door, just to let him know she was done. He had said he would show her a few things when she was done. It had only been 35 minutes and she could tell him that those 5 minutes were spent at her desk putting everything in it's place if he brought it up to her. After knocking she did as he said and came in, nervous and hoping she didn't disrupt anything. Amaya prayed Julie didn't come here as well. Amaya could just see Julie demanding to know why she wasn't put in the position when she was "clearly" better. Yes Amaya was being sarcastic but eh. Also even though Amaya was nervous she didn't show it, still in monotone, refreshed after she had been showing her emotions for the last 35 minutes, except for when she went past Julie.

David looked up as Amaya walked in. He glanced at the clock and saw that it had been 35 minutes, but he knew she had been at her desk after only 30 minutes. There was a small 'Eye' above the door to his office, and several others positioned around the building. By concentrating he was able to see through these and observe what was going on. They did not provide him with sound, but with them he was able to keep an eye on several trouble spots in his building without it being known. The one outside his door was more to observe clients than to keep an eye on his secretary though.

He did not mention the extra 5 minutes, instead he merely indicated the chair again and then swiveled the screen of his computer around so she could see it.

"Here is my schedule for the next week Amaya. You will find a copy of this on your own under schedule of course. I need you to take note of which client is due when and to have their file on my desk at least ten minutes before their meeting. Some of them have notes in the meeting as you can see," he said pointing to one. "This one has coffee and biscuits. I trust you can work out what that means. It also has how the person likes it."

He then pointed out another meeting. "These meetings highlighted in red mean that they are offsite. You are to arrange for my car to be ready to take us there at the appropriate time. The approximate travel time is noted as is any special attire I may need. You are to inform the driver and he will make sure it is packed for the both of us."

He nodded at her. "Are there any questions?"

He waited for her response then after dealing with it he stood and gestured for her to follow him as he headed towards his private elevator. "I have arranged for the car to be ready. We are going shopping. On the way we can discuss what sort of clothes you prefer and what colors. I do want you to be comfortable but you have to realize we are a multi-million dollar company and you are now going to be dealing with the elite executives. You are going to be the first voice and face they hear and see when dealing with our company so you must sound and look the part."

After her boss motioned her to sit down Amaya did and in her usual monotone expression and listened quietly as he spoke but in her head, not so quiet as she took the schedule, indeed this was a bit hectic. He had so many appointments. Well at least there was no time for anyone from her former department to mess with her, since she would always be busy. 'What have I gotten myself into? Oh boy. I know I'm not gonna be cheery so he might fire me soon. Like my last boss. Okay I have got to give him a name. Whenever I can ask questions I need to ask his name. Maybe if he read my own file he will know I keep to myself and understand that I don't know his name. Also these meetings are detailed, hmm. Well that's good to know. The schedule before just said the person's name. Nothing else. Well it was a lesser department though.'

Finally when he was done pointing things out he asked for questions and she took a short breath before speaking. "What is your name? Why choose me? Can I deny an employee to see you if they don't have an appointment?" Amaya silently waited on the outside but inside she was not quiet, like usual. 'Please say yes, my last boss I couldn't and Julie......... ugh the little blonde rat. She always saw him, always, and it's why I wasn't a secretary for very long. Well, okay part of the reason. Still though! It's part of the reason. I just don't like showing every emotion going through me on my face. How wrong is it? Why does everyone have to know everything going through a person's mind? Why?!' Well Amaya knew why. 'Cause people are nosey. They want to know everything. Well what if the other person doesn't want to show everything? What if the person just isn't a bubbly person and that's why I keep monotone. Maybe I haven't had the most loving parents and it's given me a jaded personality.' Amaya listened as her boss answered before he got up and gestured to her.

Amaya got up as he gestured but questioned it inside. 'Why are we going to his private elevator? Uh oh, my carrier bag. I take it everywhere with me.....' Amaya bit her lip as he talked and stopped outside of the elevator, looking back at the door before composing herself and turning to her boss. "May I get my bag?" It was short and expressionless as ever but under that in Amaya's voice was a bit of urgency, who knew what Julie might try to do while they were gone. Amaya had to have her bag. everything else could be replaced, but not the laptop and sketchbook in her bag. So Amaya's finger tapped slightly against her jeans as she waited, anxious.

David was surprised that there was an employee who didn't know his name, but then again he supposed there might be quite a few. "My name is David Kincaid, Amaya, but please when we are alone feel free to call me David. When there are clients about however please call me Mr Kincaid. That's not me talking it is company policy," he smiled to let her know he wasn't being harsh.

"As for why I chose you, well actually there are several reasons. You are a hard worker that gets things done. All of your work is of high quality, yet people do not seem to get along with you." He looked her up and down and then sighed. "Let me be frank with you. I have been with you for a total of about ten minutes and you have yet to smile once or show any emotion. You have just been promoted to what most people would call a dream job and yet not a flicker." He observed her and then smiled. "I can actually use that. This is a highly stressful job as you can no doubt see. I have meeting after meeting and having someone as grounded as you will do me a world of good."

"As for denying employee's who do not have an appointment access to me, well that is part of your job. Unless it is a dire emergency and I do expect a few of them to crop up, they always do, that is what their bosses are for. You have the final say Amaya. You are in charge of who see's me and when."

As they got to the elevator he saw how anxious she was about leaving her bag behind. He wondered just what was in it that was so important to her but he decided not to ask her just yet. Actually he should have asked her if there was anything she needed to bring. His office may be secure but hers wasn't.

"By all means fetch it. Sorry I should have asked if you needed anything. Next time I will give you some warning so you can get it or leave it in my office. No one can get in there."

He waited until she fetched it then they descended directly to the garage and into the waiting limousine. "The shopping district Roger. My new Secretary needs some clothing," he smiled as they started to drive off.

Amaya nodded politely at him telling her his name and how she should address him. 'So he is okay with me calling him David when we are alone? Huh, he is laid back with his name at least. Not clothes though from how he really wants to go shopping for clothes. Jeans aren't always that bad you know. Maybe I can break this guy later into letting me wear jeans. Seriously, they aren't that bad. Some don't even look like jeans. For now though I'll let him have his way and try to find some dressy work clothes that aren't jeans.' Amaya then listened to him about the reason he chose her and actually was a tiny bit surprised. 'He chose me because I am expressionless? Well that's new. You would think he would like bubbly people.' Then he spoke of the denying issue and Amaya was happy, but again stayed motionless on her face. 'Oh that's good. Julie never has a real emergency, just has a thing against me cause I wouldn't do her work for her when I came into the company. Still, she didn't have to go after my first secretary job. Yes I can be a pain in other ways but she went after me not for that, but just cause I wouldn't do her work for her, like other to themselves people.'

Finally once he told her about getting her stuff she rushed out to get her bag and rushed back in, giving a tiny smile that went inhumanly quick. Only one that wasn't human would have seen it for the mere fifth of a second it was there. Then they went off and got to the shopping district. Amaya got out as soon as they stopped and looked around, and spotted Nordstrom. It was a nice place and she went towards it, hearing David follow behind.

First Amaya went to the skirts, getting a few that she liked and were flowy before showing them to David. She hoped he would like the skirts and waited for him to select if he wanted them or not. Once he did that Amaya went to the pants and the tops and the dresses even, picking a few. They then went to Lulus and a few other stores and she did the same thing, always checking to see if he liked them and forcing herself to go by the demin and jeans. Amaya was secretly hoping that when he saw that even in the really high end shops there were jeans, he might let her wear a few. Finally they were finished and Amaya was hungry. Thankfully her stomach was an ungrowly one but as they sat in the car with the bags Amaya had to ask. "Could we stop to eat? Need food." It was short and monotone, but carried a hopeful hint in it, as Amaya was really hoping they could stop and eat.

David saw the quick hint of a smile that she flashed, but as it was so fast that a normal human would not have been able to have seen it, he did not react to it. Still it had been good to know that she could show some form of emotion.

While shopping he saw the type of clothes she chose and he also saw the ones she looked at with a bit of longing. The dresses she picked were nice as were the tops, but some of the pants were a little bit too casual. Personally he had no problems with what she picked but it was company policy. Still he did see some good looking jean pants as she led him through the places. Perhaps he would let her get some once she was more established in her job.

Once they had bought the clothes she had selected and they were on their way out she mentioned her hunger. "Well of course we can go for lunch. Just where would you like to go. Maybe a steak house?"

Amaya was immediately excited at the mention of a steak house. Oh god she was so hungry. All her life Amaya, even for a demon had been a big eater. Her parents weren't surprised, probably cause her mom was a big eater as well and on that part they had been kind. Her mom had told her however that with other people she was not to show this. She was to eat a good size meal for a lady and that was all. Going to a steak house could ruin that, especially since she had the money, but she would get a simple meal. That was it. Even if she did want more. So Amaya nodded. "Steak house sounds nice. I know one." After getting permission from David she told the driver how to get there in short simple directions, which it seemed the driver liked. On the way there Amaya was silent again though, looking out her window.

Once they were there Amaya got out and after David got out too walked to the door, the waiter working there smiling at Amaya before greeting them. "Well hello Amaya, I see you are here again, though it isn't much of a surprise. Though I've never seen you with anyone else." At that Amaya blushed a little before glaring at the waiter who instantly knew what he did wrong and turned to David after a little gulp. "Well anyway I'll be your waiter and server today, since we are a little short on staff, since it's so busy. Now do you want a booth or table?" The waiter asked David since he knew Amaya would want a booth but didn't know what David wanted and didn't want to anger a new guest by not asking.

So this was a regular place of Amaya's then, David thought. Well that was good to know. He would be able to ask her what was good on the menu. Actually there might be a slight problem. He normally couldn't control himself around good steak. There were not many Demons that could when they were alone. David had once eaten two tomahawk steaks by himself. Heck he was forever entering those food challenges just so he could get a decent meal when he was really hungry.

He had to wonder if Amaya was the same, and assumed she was. If she suspected he was a Demon she would order a large meal, but if she didn't she would probably order a regular sized meal and still be hungry and he would be forced to do the same. Suddenly he had a bright idea.

"We would like a booth please, maybe somewhere out of the way. We are celebrating Amaya's promotion and the boss has said we have a blank check for lunch so we just might go a little overboard. We wouldn't want too many people to see us stuffing ourselves right," he chuckled.

Amaya glanced at her boss as he said what he wanted, inside a little surprised but Amaya brushed it off. He was human. He had to be right? He was just a guy and might want a larger meal or be sensitive about it. Amaya might get a bit of a larger meal then she usually would but she wasn't gonna do what she usually did at home. Oh boy at home........ she could really go on and on eating. It really was insane. Her dad had even watched with eyebrows raised once when she ate a whole huge pan of spaghetti and then ate a whole similar sized pan of macaroni and cheese and even ate 2 bowls full of mushrooms and then a big thing of ramen. That had been when she was 16 and went on a watching anime and eating spree. Well a spree for a human but still a good size meal for a demon. Her mom said though that their family had always been big eaters. The waiter though nodded. "Of course, follow me, I'll lead you to the usual seat."

They then followed the waiter and went to Amaya's favorite spot, a nice and cozy corner, with no window and up a bit and the waiter smiled. "Now Amaya do you want to start with the Dr. Pepper, the 2 crab cakes and the barbecue shrimp?" Amaya nodded to that. Hopefully her boss wouldn't think she was a big eater, eating 2 appetizers before even getting to the main meal, and that was a light one. Usually she would get orders of the crab cakes and the shrimp, but she still didn't want to freak out her boss. The waiter then looked to David. "And what would you like Sir?" The waiter then smiled as Amaya watched, a monotone expression on her face once again.

David looked at Amaya and smiled. "Well if she has been here enough to have a regular table and starter I will have to assume they are good. I will have the same, although make my drink a lemon squash please," he told the man.

As he walked away to order their starters he looked at her. "So can you recommend anything here. I usually like my steaks large and rare, but I am open to other things." Smiling he lowered his voice and glanced around."I also have a confession to make and I need to have your word that this will not be spread around at work."

He waited for her answer and then with a nervous smile he told her, "There are just sometimes I can't stop myself from eating big and being in a steak house is one of them. Please don't by surprised if I eat enough for two or three people. There is just something about the taste and the smell that drives me wild," he chuckled. "Oh I will pay for it later of course but what can you do," he shrugged.

Amaya watched as David ordered and raised one eyebrow for a minute before it was down again and she listened to him speak and nodded. 'Well if he is asking my opinion the least I can do is give it to him. Hopefully he likes the food. If he doesn't then well.... I tried at least.' So with that Amaya took his menu and flipped it open. Thankfully she knew where things are on the menu. "I can recommend a few things but it depends on what you like. I of course won't say anything about a confession to other people. I'm not a horrible person that goes around spilling secret of everyone she knows." Amaya then winced inside. 'Darn it, and I was trying to be careful, even though this is getting exhausting, hiding my emotions all the time like this, and I used ot be able to control it better when I was alone in my cubicle. This is nice though, going out to eat with another person, just a little though.' Amaya had to admit that at least.

Then David's confession came and little alarm bells rang in the back of Amaya's head that what he just said wasn't normal, even for a human grown man. Amaya brushed it off and took a deep breath though. "Well I won't tell anyone, and I have to admit that I eat a bit big too. I'll pay for my end at least." Amaya then pointed at a few things on the men. "So you like your steaks large and rare, well they cook all the steaks from rare to well done but the largest are the Porterhouse for Two which is 40 ounces and the Tomahawk Ribeye, which is also 40 ounces and then the t bone for 24 ounces. Also for 22 ounces is the Cowboy RIbeye." Amaya pointed to each of them on the menu. "Then as I will still want a lot of food I get a few complements." She pointed to the section. "I usually get the shrimp and the lobster tail, as you can see you get 6 shrimp, which are dusted with a blackening seasoning and broiled. The lobster tail is also cold water and seasoned with Cajun spices, sea salt and butter." Amaya then dared to do more even and hope David wasn't horrified at her. "Now for me I also go and do a seafood entree, as I love shrimp I get the barbecued shrimp entree which is served on a bed of roasted garlic mashed potatoes, though I get it on the side and the sizzling blue crab cakes which give you 3 when you get it as an entree." Amaya then blushed just a little, now showing some emotion, deciding to be brave a bit and as she had been standing a bit to point to the things she sat back down, watching David.

A few minutes later their waiter came out with their drinks and the appetizers, which were 2 of the jumbo lump crab cakes served with sizzling lemon butter and shrimp sauteed in a wine, butter, garlic and spices. "Now Amaya are you going with your usual big meal today?" Amaya then glanced at David before nodding. "Yes please, the whole thing." The waiter smiled and then turned to David. "Are you ready Sir or do you need a bit more time?" Their waiter then smiled, waiting quietly.

David was glad to see Amaya relaxing her demeanor around him. He enjoyed the way she was starting to talk around him and open up to him. He took into account her suggestions and what looked good, and then just what would look too bad for him. He was tempted to get the Tomahawk steak but maybe that was pushing the limits of what a normal human could eat, especially with the sides he was going to order.

He could already hear the suspicion in her voice so he decided to play it safe. "I will have the T-Bone done rare, a baked potato, Onion rings, Corn, Mushrooms, and a lobster tail."

he handed the menu back to the waiter and smiled at her. "Well I do like the choices you have made in the starters. If the main looks and smells as good as this I think i am going to become a regular here myself."

He took a bite of the crab cake and sighed in satisfaction. "These are delicious. I knew hiring you was a wise decision. It is already paying off," he chuckled.

Amaya listened as she sipped her Dr. Pepper, having bitten into one of her own crab cakes as he spoke. 'Well he is getting a reasonable meal for a human, maybe a little big but it's not like one of my regular meals. Well here I go down on the size just a little anyway but eh. I'm a hungry girl, it's not like I can help it. Demons are just hungry creatures.' Then after he was done the waiter nodded then turned to Amaya. "I will bring them in the order you like, since you are getting the big one. Maybe you can share." The waiter then went back to the kitchen to tell the chef.

After the waiter had left Amaya smiled a little at David's comments and then spoke in a gentle voice that carried a hint of sweetness, much less monotone but still not completely relaxed. "Well I get the 2 petite fillet with 3 shrimp, but I did get the t-bone once and it was delicious. I get my fillet rare too so. Sorry if it's weird, just love the juiciness and the flavor of the rare steaks. They are so much better then the others. Even though they are said to be able to cause sickness I've never gotten sick. Also I am getting the shrimp and lobster tail complements, but as he said the order was big. I might be here after you've eaten all of your stuff." Amaya then hesitated before going on. "After the steak and the complements I have the barbecued shrimp entree and the sizzling cakes again, just this time 3 of them. Also I get a few side dishes that come out first, the cremini mushrooms and the lobster mac and cheese. Then I get 2 orders of the cheesecake dessert." After that Amaya felt like hiding, sure she was gonna see a horrified expression on her boss's face. 'Damn me, why did I tell him that? I'm so stupid. I did order that meal though, it's all my fault, ugh. He is going to hate me and it's only my first day on the job. Grr, I feel so dumb. Well I might just go back to my cubicle but I guess it wasn't horrible...... though it was bad. It's bad not having anyone to open up to, to let go with. That's my life though, lonely and sorrowful, no matter how it tries to change, I keep messing it up.' Amaya sighed and sipped a bit of her drink, knowing this probably wouldn't end well, though she had a speck of hope for it.

Davis smiled at her and then glanced around. "Oh thank god," he told her. "I ordered that because I know you said you ate big, but I was trying to keep my order sort of within 'Normal' limits. Actually I could eat two of those steaks easily, but maybe having those other things might be a pleasant change. Perhaps I will join you. Do you think I can get the waiter to add them to my order?"

He waited until things had been sorted and then looked at Amaya across the table. "I am glad that you are okay with me actually eating as much as I do. Actually it is good to see a woman who is not afraid to actually eat in this day and age. Most just have a little meal and then wonder why they don't have the strength to carry out the most basic of things, or why they are so hungry all the time."

He looked her straight in the eyes and said, "Besides if you don't mind me saying so, you certainly look healthy enough and very...well I would like to say beautiful, but would that be considered sexual harassment in this day and age,? he asked her a little cheekily.

With what Amaya heard from David in the next few minutes surprised her to no end and it showed on her face. Her eyes widened and she just blinked for about 30 seconds, her mouth open slightly. 'Did he just say what I think he said? He didn't did he? Really? I did not heart that, I did not hear that.' Though as he asked for the waiter it was set in stone that he really did say that. Amaya nodded then and called the waiter and had what she did ordered for him. First the side dishes, the cremini mushrooms and the lobster mac and cheese would be coming out first, then there would be the steak and complements and then her other seafood entree's and then dessert. Now though he was actually getting more then her, since he just added it to his, though Amaya could always ask for a second order of mushrooms if she wanted.

Then she heard David speak again and looked at him in interest, sipping her Dr. Pepper. Right now he sounded like an athletic guy instead of her boss. With the healthy speech. Oh what he didn't know. Yes she may look healthy but he didn't know what she was, at least to her knowledge. She actually ate less usually then she was supposed to, especially when she got lunch in the office. She ate two ramen noodle packages or a footlong sub from Subway but it was barely enough. Amaya was good at holding in her hungry usually though. Unless she came here. Amaya did smile a little though before going monotone, though a little relaxed as she had been. "The way I see compliments like being beautiful and stuff is if you don't mean it as sexual harassment and it usually isn't meant in a sexual way or you are just flirting with someone you like and they except it, then it's not sexual harassment. Like if someone calls you darling but they don't mean it really in a sexual way, that is just how they normally talk it shouldn't be sexual harassment. If you don't like it just ask them not to call you that again and they probably wont. If they are using it in a sexually harassing way and if you ask them to stop and they don't, then it's sexual harassment." Amaya then took another sip of her drink before averting her eyes, wanting to avoid his for this comment. "Also you are handsome yourself, so to me I don't think you calling me beautiful is sexual harassment though, no one else has called me beautiful or thought that, except my mom and dad." Amaya then sighed, looking at her pop. 'If they did I would have a boyfriend right now, and not have been broken up with my ex two years ago.'

Right then though the side dishes came out, the mushrooms and mac and cheese for Amaya and the same with the others he had ordered for David but Amaya spoke to the waiter. "Can I have another order of mushrooms for myself please. Thanks." The waiter nodded and turned to David, and if he wanted anything else the waiter put it down before leaving and Amaya smiled a little again. "I hope you like the food." Amaya then put her fork in the mac and cheese and took the bite, closing her eyes to savor the taste. She was hungry but she wasn't going to rush because of it. David might also notice that Amaya hasn't actually said his first name even once yet.

David had broken through a little. Well at least he had gotten her to open up a little about herself, even if it was about something truly distressing. How could no one think that this woman before him was not beautiful? Could no one see through the plain exterior she hid herself in to the true beauty that hid beneath?

He was about to reply to her comment when the waiter brought out their starters and the moment was lost. They juggled the plates around and soon he was taking his first bite of the Mac and cheese she had recommended. His taste-buds danced in delight and he smiled at her. "You may have just earned your first raise Amaya," he sighed in delight. "I just might put you in charge of getting all my lunches if you know any other places that serve food this good."

He stopped talking for a little bit as he sampled each of the dishes and found them just as delicious. Oh he was going to have no problems eating everything. In fact he was going to have a problem not ordering more.

As the first pangs of hunger were sated, he looked at Amaya again and went back to their conversation. "Well I am glad I am allowed to say you are beautiful without you thinking it is sexual harassment. Oh and thank you for the compliment, I do try to keep fit and healthy myself, I am glad it seems to be working," he smiled. "Although I can't believe that part about no one else calling you that. I would have thought you would have been fighting men off with a stick. Obviously not at work," he chuckled "I would hope you would keep those activities confined to after hours."

Amaya was trying to keep herself at a slow pace with her food, but it wasn't working. By the time David spoke again Amaya was already a fourth of the way into her mac and cheese and had half of a second glass of Dr. Pepper gone. Usually demons when they first started eating had their hunger go down. The reason Amaya was different was her hunger went up until fully satisfied. It was the reason Amaya was actually glad for her talent to keep everything hidden. Or normal people would see her as horrifying. In her mind Amaya summarized that she wasn't really getting a demon sized meal and David just had a big appetite like her. Amaya heard David speak though and nodded, swallowing her mouthful of mac and cheese. "I do know a few, I know a few good sub places, I also like fast food but you probably don't." 'Being high end and all that. Seriously though, maybe tomorrow for dinner I could get my usual order at Mcdonalds, and just say it's for a small party.' Amaya thankfully had like 2 gallons of pop in 2 liters, though she had other drinks too, like white grape juice, in her 3 refrigerators, which were needed. She also had 2 chest freezers for herself. 'That is the reason David or anyone else is not going in my house, whatsoever.'

Amaya was curious as he started eating. "I am curious, do you like Ramen and sushi? I know a good place to get some if you ever want that. Also I am a picky food person, you just write down what you like and give me the job and I'll do it." Seriously Amaya was picky, for one thing not liking cooked vegetables unless they were like in a meaty soup or something. She didn't even eat vegetable soup. She also Had to have her meat very tender, or it was dry. She never touched chicken breasts and rarely touched the thighs because of it and never ever touched a turkey at all. Then David went back to their conversation on her being called beautiful and Amaya shook her head. "Really no one has. Then Amaya blushed. The reason she blushed though was of him saying "confine those activities to after hours." That caused Amaya's head to go wild and she was blushing for a tiny bit of a second before going monotone. 'What kind of person does he think I am? How dare he, I'm not that kind of woman! Exactly the opposite in fact.......' On the outside Amaya said nothing, just making a slight noise to know she heard him. "Mmm." Then she went to eating her mac and cheese, finishing it quickly, having been closed to finished before diving into her mushrooms, eating about one of them before speaking again. "The next thing to come out will be the steak and complements, then the seafood entrees." Next she dove into her second side of mushrooms, having gotten them when the waiter had gotten her second pop. Amaya then went quiet again, nearly finished with her second Dr. Pepper as she looked down.

He nodded as she asked about Ramen and sushi. "Oh I love them," he said. "I can eat about four bowls full before I know what's happening if it is really good," he smiled. "The last time I traveled to Japan I made a special trip out to Hokkaido just to try out the different ramen there. The Miso ramen of Sapporo is actually very famous and did not disappoint." He smiled at her as he dug into the last of his Mac and cheese. "In fact later this year there is another meeting scheduled in Japan. Perhaps I can add a few days to my schedule and we can go there again if you want to. I wouldn't mind, I really do miss the taste of that dish. Plus there were a few more I wished to try."

As he pushed his empty dishes to one side and leaned back and finished off his drink he smiled in satisfaction. "That was an excellent beginning. I am now looking forward to the main." He had seen Amaya's reaction to his comment about her fighting them off at work and he decided to clarify things a bit. "I am sorry if I offended you at all with my comment Amaya. I just meant that I was very surprised that you did not have more people asking you out during work hours. I know you are not the sort of woman who would do anything inappropriate during work and I apologize if I made it sound that way. However and please feel free to tell me to mind my own business if I am getting to personal, I am surprised that you do not have a boyfriend. However I guess their loss is my gain. It just means I will have you all to myself then," he smiled at her.
