David was unhappy. Once again one of his most promising secretary's had been pinched by home office. This made the third one in as many years. Oh they weren't just secretary's, he trained them in all aspects of the company. They became like junior executives while doing his day to day activities, so it was a win win situation, but he was getting fed up with the head office pinching them when he had done all the work.
Of course he could not say no to them. It was not worth his existence to do that and that was what he was risking to do something like that. No what he needed to do was find someone that he could train that head office would never suspect.
He took a walk through the building but everyone was on edge and he got little insight into who would be a good replacement. He supposed it was inevitable. He was the CEO of the place, and when the boss roamed the halls it was bound to cause problems. Well he did have a way around that.
Most of the people in the company were mortals. They went about there day to day jobs never knowing that they were working for a Demon or that working beside them were several demons. In fact 10% of the workforce in the building were demons. Admittedly low level Demons but demons never the less.
David was a higher level demon and had access to a lot more power than the ones working below him. He cast a basic glamor, changing his outward appearance and walked around again as a mailboy, evaluating performance, looking for that special someone that had the intelligence he needed but the right sort of personality he was looking for.
Finally he thought he had found her and he left a note on her desk that she was to report to his office at the beginning of business the next day. He had a night to find out everything he could about her and be ready for her in the morning.
