It'll be interesting to see the direction this thread takes.

Couple of points.

Nullification. Under the Jeffersonian model nullification is a legal tool available to the states to prevent federal government overreach. Indeed, it's still practiced today by both democrat and republican administered states. Obviously the goals of each differ, but they both use the same tool.............nullification. It must be noted that under both the Jeffersonian and Lincolnian models nullification is unavailable to counties/cities. (The ability to self govern rule applies there.)

Slavery. The speakers portrayal of slavery is much closer to the truth than that that was, and still is, part of popular myth. That doesn't alter the fact that it is an abomination but it does point out that things weren't quite as it seemed(s). It is my opinion that had the south prevailed that slavery would have eventually collapsed under its own weight. It was after all a welfare state writ large.

The enhancements incorporated in the Confederate Constitution are worthy of contemplation.

And then there's the question, "Did Lincoln in his drive to save the Union destroy the Constitution?" It can be argued that that is the case when one compares the perception of the document today to as originally contemplated by the founders.

The issue has become part of the new secular religion.

No heresy will be politely contemplated, entertained or discussed...



It would seem in a world underpinned by Judaeo-Christian thinking,
every issue of any import requires an original sin which means
rationality must be abandoned in topical discussions.

White people/culture are the devil
in the secular catechism.



The primitive tribal state is paradise lost.
