The New CEO (Open to one male or female)

"Oh hi Boyd!" Almost genuinly glad to see him, it gave her an opertunity to shake off the millionaire that had latched on to her, she put both her hands, complete with newly manicured nails on his toned broad shoulders and kissed his cheek. That would get him!

"I assume you have met with a few of these gentlemen?" introducing him to the key shareholders as she took the champagne from his hand without even asking if it was for her.

She looked very very different with curled hair, it was bouncier, friendly even...

"Yes I spoke with some of these men earlier in the evening." Boyd commented to Zara.

"Yes Zara is quite impressive, and lovely. She looks absalutely sensual tonight doesn't she. She is our best rep, has she mentioned she just landed the Audi account. " Boyd stated trying to pump her ego as if she needed it.

"Well if you will excuse me." WIth that boyd left the group. He knew Zara was trying to get his attention, by avoiding him, and tonight he had other things to do than play Zara's game. If she wanted to talk she would have to seek him out.

Zara watched him leave looking rather puzzelled as he went over to a crowd of copy girls, she shrugged, as if she could compete with that! Still standing with the share holders half an hour later, his hand was backon his hip and this time she didn't make any move to push it away.

The night carried on and the free drink did more than flow. Zara had caought sight of Lucy who had probably had just about enough she excused herself and headed over to her.

"Zara!!!!!!!!!!!!" Lucy shreiked
"Yes?" She said sitting down beside her PA
"This is a great party, isn't a great party?"
"Yeh" she said flattly "Lucy shall we go outside for some fresh air?" She knew these kind of parties, especially when your on the right side of twenty, she had experienced what people on the very wrong side of twenty could be like.
"No no, I'm great here."

Zara let her be but did head up to the bar for a bottle of water....

Boyd was enjoying the party. By talking to even the copy girls he gained new allies at the agency. He knew next time he needed a copy of a Zara proposal, all he would have to do is call Cindy, a 24 year old, slim, brunnette. He could see the disdain in Zara as he spoke to the copy girls. In her mind she could not understand why the CEO would associate with these low life employees.

"As Zara approached, he turned to her. Why hello Zara, I thought you may have left with one of the shareholders. I spoke with some of them earlier, you know before you arrived, some speak highly of you, though some do not really like your style." Boyd turned to pick up his next drink.

"Zara, I know what you are trying to do, avoid me maybe make me jealous. I saw your action with the mans handover there, earlier brushing it off as you saw me, now letting him play grab ass with your ass."

Then he asked, "So are you staying all night or will you be heading out earlly with your shareholder friend. I can see lucy has garnered some attention as well." Boyd pointed with his drink in hand to the outdoor patio, were Lucy stood talking to a couple executives. Well have a good night Zara, you know were to find me." He turned going back to the crowd to mingle.

Zara had just seem Boyd for what he was, just as bad as her! He twisted people, changed words and reactions to suit himself.

For what he said she could have slapped him, it was a slappable offence she thought but probably best to keep her job for the mean time.

She hadn't bothered about the girls i mean 22 year old naive office assistants that wanted to get higher, God the man is only human! She hadn't removed Jo's hand because of Boyd, she hadn't even noticed Boyd was looking! Why was he bothered where a mans hands were on her body anyway?

zara didn't know if it was the chamagne, the fact that she had all of a sudden became very warm or if it was because she didn't have her armour on (her armour being her office clothes, her tight blouses and skirts, it was so much easier to do the cold hard bitch act in them) but she could feel her eyes become ever so slightly watery. "Have a nice evening," she said in a low voice as she went to walk past him, in the process bumping his hard causing the contents of his drink to escape onto his expensive suit.

Walking out the large room and onto the patio with another glass of champagne. She calmed down as the cool night breeze hit her. She lit a cigarette and leaned against one of the pillars, similar to the ones at the front of the building, after a few long drags and the champagne Zara was calm again. *What an idiot I can be sometimes, think of the bloody satisfaction I've just given him!*

Boyd did not like what he had done to Zara, though it was the game she wanted to play. It was not typically his style, yet it was probably the only way he could get to Zara.

Boyd noticed Lucy on the patio, standing with a pair of executives. It was clear that their plan was tonight as each had an arm around her. She looked comforatable, though quite drunk. Boyd walked toward the trio, "Excuse me Lucy, how are you doing." She stepped to him both her hands landing on his chest. "Oh Mr Johnson I think the party is just starting."
"Will you two excuse me" Boyd spoke to the men in a demanding voice, a bit disgusted at their intents.
"Lucy, my driver will take you home this eveing." She resisted a bit, though eventually she got in his car. His hope was the car would return in time, otherwise he would be sleeping on his office couch. It was saturday tomorrow, so that would be ok plus he kept a change of clothes in his office.

As Boyd retunred to the party, he stopped when he saw Zara leaning against the column smoking. "Hellow Zara, are you doing OK" clearly she was a bit distraught. "I am sorry if I offended you this eveing, that was not my intent. I was only a participant in your games. When you play games you will find better opponents and you may lose Zara." He spoke trying to be sensative. The redness in her eyes was clearly evident. It was the type of redness from emotion. "Zara again I aplagize. If there is anything I can do for you, please let me know."

Zara looked over at Mr Jonson approaching Lucy and watched what went on for a moment shaking her head, "Well I've never been that bad she said to herself,". If Boyd hadn't stepped in she may have got rather concerned about her PA. Lucy was most certainly not ready for the "real world" quite yet!

Zara had completely calmed down by the timeBoyd came over, it must just have been the champagne.

"Look," she said almost eye ;evel with him in her 41/2 inch Manolo Blahnik siletos "Boyd you and me are never going to see eye to eye, you will always try to get one over on me and i on you! TThe only thing is you already think you know me, you have worked me out! I didn't take one look at you and say this is a manipulative slim ball who will continue childish game just to get one over on an under level employee" (she shuddered as she said "under level) "I at leats waited a week until I worked that out! What do you think I did to land that deal?" she didn't wait for an answer "Anyway I need to go this party isn't much fun."

"Zara, one thing I know is you are complex. I am not even close to figuring you out. I like the challenge that brings, I like employees and people who strive to be the best. I do know that about you. As for the game playing, don't be a sore loser. It's not ok with you to toy with people, then when you are toyed with cry foul. You are better than that." Boyd paused for a moment, looking at her legs down to her stilletos, maybe she could tell from the way he looked, he had desire for her.

"Don't go yet, the party is done in a half hour, we have both had too much to drink and you should not be driving. My driver should be back by that time, and I will have him drive you home."
"as for you landing Audi, I saw the proposal, it was very very good. With what you put together in that proposal, you deserved to get the contract. If you are insinuating I think you did more I do not. If you made more promises than what was proposed, that is up to you." He did not want to condmen her if she had indeed had sex with Lance. Zara knew how the system worked. "Zara, that proposal was one of the best I have ever seen." He added trying to reassure her. yet, her question confirmed what he had thought, that she had few limits when it came to landing a contract.

"As for us seeing eye to eye, I would say those sexy stilletos have us seeing pretty close to eye to eye. Now if you would be kind enough to excort me back into the party." Boyd moved his hand to the small of zara's back. Her reaction would tell him in a few moments how she felt about him.

She hesitated as she felt his strong hand on the small of her back. "I wasn't going to drive home, I'd take a cab!" She narked at him, as if I'd risk a DUI!

Zara choose to ignore his previous comments, whta did he want her to sa "Oh my god it was the best propsal you've read, oh im so flattered!" Erm no! Of course it was the best it was hers!

They moved back into the room and Zara picked up 2 glasses of champagne, handing one to Boyd.

Boyd thought to himself, that Zara could not even take an honest comment for what it was. He imaginged she was cynical of compliments as most had the hidden intent to get her into bed.

He was grateful she at least retunred to the party with him. The crowd was sparse at this late hour. He did see Kristen, the new girl from Copenhagen, who he had met with leaving with a pair of men. He rolled his eyes to himself.

"Zara handed the champagne to him, "Thank you Zara" He commented even though he had a dislike for the bubbly, he sipped it to be gracious.

Zara stood with Boyd as the party started to disperse, she felt a little awkard as she shifted in her stileto heels as she finished off her champagne.

The few shareholders that were left came over to bid them goodnight, Zara did the usual, hand shake and a kiss on the cheek.

She turned and watched Bod sip his champagne "How can you not like that?" she said friendly...ish.

Boyd, smiled at Zara's somehat friendly comment.

"Well I guess its similar to woman and beer. Most women have no time for a fine beer, where as men enjoy beer. Well, or it could be just an american guy thing." Boyd smiled as he was talking to her.

He shook the hands of the last few people to leave, he also accepted a light hug and kiss from a few of the remaining women. That was in an effort to open up as typically Boyd kept his space limiting his personal contact to a hand shake.

She shrugged at him anwalked over to a bar one of the tall stools opposite the bar and took a seat as she did she crossed her legs and her dress rode up her thigh, not unlike the way it did the fist time she met Boyd.

"Think I'm a beer drinker?" she smiled, almost teasing him as she rasied one eye brow.

Zara sat her empty champagne glass on the bar, her red lipstick had coated the rim.

Boyd smiled at the delightful and somewhat playful Zara.

"My first guess would be no, I would suspect yo more of a martini or find liquor would satisfy you more. Though I would also suspect you are not afraid to share a beer or two if needed." Boyd replied in a somewhat analyitical way.

Boyd walked to the bar and sat in the stool next to her. "Well it looks like it's just me and the bartender." With that Boyd walked to the bartender, who quickly left. Boyd slid behind the bar, "So what would the lovely lady like this evening."

Zara couldn't help but role her eyes at him, "I'll have a beer," she sd rather flattly totally unimpressed by him.

She kicked off her shoes and walked over to one of the sofas, "So, what are your plans for the company?" looking directly at him across the room.

"A beer ma'am, which brand would you like this evening?" Boyd joked from behind the bar.

"Yes its funny how everyone thinks the bartender knows the answers to everything, even where the company should go." Boyd continued on, watching Zara as she seemed a bit more relaxed, though still had to center the conversation on work.

"So Ma'am, which beer was that again", Boyd knew her answer would solve the mystery of what type of beer drinker she was and whether she was trying to appease him or she really knew her beers.

"A Corona".

She went up to the bar bare-foted and took bottle from him and taking a long drink, "Oh and call me "ma'am" again and your life won't be worth living."

She went back over tthe sofa, "You never answerd my question."

Oh the mexican delight, Corona, you know your beers" Boyd laughed as he stuck the lemon in the top of the bottle. Boyd searched for and found a Budweiser, aching for a tast of home.

"Here you go Miss Millar" he said as he gently handed her the bottle. "I will presume that since you are abeer drinker you do not require a glass"

He sat on the couch accross from her and raised he feet onto a coffee table and sat back.

"Now your question, you really want to talk work do you Miss Millar or shall I call you Zara?"

She got up from the sofa as Boyd handed her the bottle "Its a lime with Corona," she said, still not etting her guard slip. She knew her way around a bar from previous experiences, replacing the lemon with a lime and returning to the sofa.

"Zara's fine," she said as she crossed her long tanned legs again "Why? Ithere something else on your mind?"

"Lemon or lime, those are both bitter fruits, besides. don't you think if the beer truly need it it would already have it."

Boyd watched her saunter back to the couch and then put her long legs on display for him. "Nothing on my mind, with the exception it has been a long week and I am relieved the weekend is here."

He set his empty beer on the table, "You know the rules of beer are when you go to the bar you always ask those you are drinking with if they would like another?"

"Get your own beer!" She laughed, "I've just started his one!"

"So apart from annoying me what have you spent your first week doing?"

Boyd got up and walked to the bar.

"Observing, that is what I have been doing." Boyd looked back and told her. As he stood at the bar "That pretty much is it observing, see where people are at with there new boss."

He retunred carrying two Buds and another Carona for Zara. "See I learn fast, Lime this time, as per your request."

"You would be amazed what you can find out about people just by observing."

"Wow that must be how you got the job," saying sarcasticly as she gesture at the lime. She regreted it as soon as she'd said i, she didn't even bother trying to laugh the comment off.

Who was the most interesting person you...observed" trying to change the subject.

"George the security guard in the lobby. He is an interestig man, he knows more than most the upper level executives of the goings on and everyday function af the agency. He knows who comes and goes, when they do, which clients we are wooing, which employees are stressed." Boyd looked at Zara.

"I would imagine you would expect someone a bit higher in management to be the most interesting. You know why there are cabs sitting thier magicly when you are heading to your meetings. George he knows, he keeps tabs on the needs of employees in an effort to make their day easier."

Boyd paused for a moment. "You know what else .... he says you are one of the few people in the building who has never taken time to say hello, good morning or even thank you when he opens the door for you."

She glared at him, it was a huge enterence with w more than one security guard and yes as she walked in her mind was always elsewhere either that or her pone was already glued in to har and it wasn't even 9.00am.

"So?" shrugged "I'm a bitch, I don't go to work in the mornings to make friends, I go because I want to sucseed, I want to contribute, I want to win! And trust me you don't do that by making friends, you know what you do get? Let down!" She was showing her cards, she need to stop but the beer mixed with the champagne had made it difficult to do so.
