"Mutation. It is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow and normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward." Jean Gray

So far the views of people had not taken that leap forward and so unless one was willing to save the planet and be in the spotlight, there were few other options, and refuge was rare. Even the school had been spotlighted and no longer allowed to continue unnoticed.

Fortunately, it still was a refuge to many who otherwise would flounder with their sometimes dangerous abilities. This is their story.

Tsafri (Vision)

I was very frustrated. Normally the kids were easy to handle but for some reason they were very rowdy today. One girl kept floating some of the other kids up in the air and another boy was burning the desks. One kid named Billy was able to walk through walls so he would often escape out into the hallway. I noticed that he was missing again so I went out into the hallway to look for him, but he was nowhere in sight. Damnit where did he go? I went back to the room for a second.

"Hey Britt, can you just keep an eye on everyone? Billy got away again." I said. She nodded a reply and I left to look for the child. I rushed around the hallways not finding him. I was getting extremely flustered and started rushing around not really paying attention to where I was going. Turning a corner I bumped into an opposing force, turning out to be another person, and fell onto the ground.

Andrew Taggard had been roaming the halls again as he was prone to do. Having spent 5 years at Xavier's school, he had already attended all of the various classes and so his academic skills were up to scratch. When offered the position of being one of the teachers, he had politly declined, after all he wasn't big on the whole teaching side of things.

Half lost in idle thaught as he wandered, Andrew was braught back to reality when someone slammed into him from the front. Letting out a slightly supprised cry, he staggared back a few steps, trying to regain his balance. Looking down, he saw what had hit him. It was a gorgeous young woman with strawberry-blonde hair and beutiful eyes. Walking foward and offering his hand to help her get up, he said. "I'm sorry miss. Didn't mean to get in your way"

Violent Rage

She could teach pretty much any normal class as well as quite a few of the classes that were unique to the school. So far she was filling in where needed and trying to keep calm despite the intensity of emotion that seemed paired with teenagers. Luckily the professeor had seen fit to place her among advanced students, all over eighteen and most had a reasonable control on their outbursts.

It was a calmness she had forgotten, dealing with small children whose outbursts tended to be like rainstorms, short and intense, to drawn out. Violet hadn't realized how much easier it was around nonmutants. It was as if mutants were either more emotional or easier to sense. She wasn't quite sure which.

Chimera

Sarah, or Chimera depending on what her fellow students called her, sat quietly in Miss Violet's class. Every so often, after listening to the Teacher's voice, she wrote down notes. She was generally very interested in everything Miss Violet had to teach, always the good student. However, she really wanted to live! That was one of her problems. While she tried to be a good student, she also ended up day dreaming, and if Miss Violet called on her to answer a question, she'd snap out of a fantasy and end up rather confused.

Yeah, it wasn't perfect but she was still trying; focusing really hard on taking notes today considering the test was going to be tommorow. But before she knew it, she was off in her own little world, thinking about all sorts of things that had nothing to do with school work or the subject Miss Violet was teaching. Chewing on her pencil, Sarah looked up at the ceiling, completely lost in her day dream.

Samuel slowly approached the grounds where the School was located, at least acording to Mr. Richards who has shown him the location on a map. Mr. Richards also told him about security measures and so he sat down on the road and walked the rest to the main building.

Before he could reach the building he was stopped by a dark skined flying woman with white hair who greeted him by name and bade him to follow her. She led him into the building and into the main study where a bald man in a wheelchair greeted him as well and introduced himself as Professor Xavier and the flying woman as Storm. She took a seat in a corner of the room, as if to provide protection and then the Professor asked him some questions.

The talked for quite some while and then the professor told him that they would try to help him but that it would take time. Then he asked Storm to asign him a room and told him to get settled it. He would be contacted if he was needed, untill then he was free to use the open accessible features of the School.

He walked into his room, dropped his bag and went to look for something to eat.

Alexa

"This is stupid..," Alexa grumbled from the backseat, her arms folded as she glared into the rearview to her father.

"Alexa... Please... for me? At least try."

She growled under her breath, rolling her eyes and pulling her black hoodie over her head as she sunk lower into the seat. A mutant school... She was almost 20, and he was sending her back to school. Most kids my age are in college... but no, I get mutant school. She thought she was doing well enough on her own. Sure, she had an occasional time or two where she MAY have zapped a few people, maybe accidentally hacked an ATM or two for a few extra 20's... but hey, mistakes happened, right? She glanced up as the car stopped, her father turning around in the front seat.

"Please, Alexa. Just give it a few weeks to see how things go. You never know... you could enjoy it here... And please, do remember your promise about your abilities..."

She frowned again. "No using them unless I really need to. I know...." She opened the door, picking up her bags and starting up towards the building. She glanced over her shoulder to see if dad had left, then hovered off the ground and glided the rest of the way to the door. Hey, that looked like it would be a long walk. That counted as a need! She let herself in, following the instructions sent with the letter her father received. A room was already set for her on one of the upper floors. Well, may as well start there... She started up one of the flights of steps, glancing around. What an odd place this was.

Blink walked down the corridor her tail trailing outside of her shorts. She waved and said “Hi” to the usual people around the school. Blink had been going to the school for 15 years and was starting her first class as an “experienced” mutant. “This is BS I should already be in the team by now” she said under her breath. The teacher of he first class was “Violet rage” hmmm never heard of her probably someone who just learned her powers and doesn’t know a thing.

Looking out the window she stared as a car pulled up out front she smiled “a noobie won’t know what hit em once they start inside”. She then approached the door to her first class “welllll her it goes” turning the nob.

Sorry if this is wrong my irst post on this thread.

Tsafri (Vision)

Ilooked up to see Andrew. "Oh god I'm sorry." I said, "Billy just got away again and I have no idea where he went and I'm going to be in so much trouble. Why oh why did he have to be able to walk through walls?" I was very frustrated and spoke very quickly.

Gary walked into the classroom, and the first thing he felt was resistance. Not from the teacher, or the other students looking at him, not that weird kind of resistance one gets from being the newcomer or outsider. He had felt his share of resistance in the world, even in space, and this one...

This one was because his big ass sword strapped to his back hit the frame. He tried once more, but the sides of the door were too narrow, and the sword too wide. He collided, over and over, like some weird character in a video game that kept running into walls.

Finally he leaned into the side, pushed himself through, and then promptly tripped over his own foot and went sprawling head over heels onto the floor below.

The sword clattered to the ground before him, making a rest on someone's foot. They quickly kicked it away.

He muttered apologies amidst the giggling and absent chatter above his head.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he grabbed for his sword, and made his way to the back of the room. With each step he could feel the eyes of the room on him, and just wanted to disappear.

What luck, this was the kind fo school where a few students might be able to do just that. Not him though, all he had was a large and clumsy sword.

"I'm sorry Professor Violet. It won't happen again."

Alexa

Alexa found her room easily, working back downstairs for her first class. Uncomfortable with the whole place, she pulled her hoodie back up over her pale blue hair and shoved her hands into the pocket as she found the room. Professor Violet, huh? She glanced up, seeing the indicated woman on her paper. Yup, right class. Still hidden in the hoodie, she worked her way to the back of the room and sat in the far corner.

Theo sat in the back of the classroom writing notes based on the information in the teachers head that pertained to the subject. She never used her powers beyond that. She never looked at people's secrets. She always had to keep her wall up so that everyone's thoughts would not flood her head at once. She saw the new students in class.

"They'll be just like everyone else..." she thought.

She did everything in her power to simply disappear, but it was beyond her power to do so completely..

Brian was asleep in the back of the class, he was supposed to be a learning to be an teacher so he could have his own class out here one day but he knew more than likely he'd be better off doing something other than this.

He was snoring a bit loud but he wasn't aware until he fell out the chair he was sitting in, he awoke with a jolt as he fell on his butt. He looked around to see only a few students looking at him. "Ahem...carry on." he muttered as he got back in his chair.

He looked to his right to see Theo, he nodded in her direction and looked back at the head of the class, looking at his watch he realized it was almost time to go. "God I hope this class ends...I'm not cut out for this." he thought yawning.

Alexa

Alexa pushed her hood up just slightly as she heard the thump across the room, giving a quick laugh as she saw the guy on the floor. At least that showed her how easily these chairs would flip. She threw her head back, letting the hood fall down and instead started to stare at the ceiling. Were those sprinklers up there?? Hmm...

Dad said to be good, She reminded herself. Besides, a sprinkler incident caused by a jolt may not be the best idea. She spied a cell phone on a desk further up the row from her. With a smirk, she guestured a finger at it, causing it to ring. When the owner reached for it, she quickly stopped it.
Then did it again.
And again.

She was being good.
Sort of.

Blink looked at the new people class "oh god" she thought as the sword guy moved closer the only open seat is next to me might as well be nice to him. Letting her tail fly around he started taking notes as sword guy pulled up a chair. "Hi" she said kindly still looking at the note book. "I can teleport what do you do" . She heard brian wake up she chuckled "so what your name I'm Blink" now looking right at him she extended her hand.

Brian looked at her and extended his hand. "Names Brian...I've heard about you..." he said smirking. He looked at his watch and sighed. "You're supposed to have the ability to teleport...how about you teleport us out this class. It's supposed to have ended five minutes ago...yea I know I'm impatient." he said.

She looked up at them hearing their voices in her head. She would speak to them in their heads..

<Quiet down won't you? I'm trying to get the homework assignment..>

They all looked at her strangely and went silent..

<Thank you..>

Prof Violent Rage

The class was not focused at all, and with an influx of new students, it was no wonder. She didn't want to go through the pains of introductions, especially as there was at least one mind reader in the room. The group was a strange mix of sensations, boredoom, fear, isolation, nervousness.

"Perhaps we should take are lesson outside?" she said in a voice that shook the walls slightly. Lord it felt good to be able to freely express her powers, "That is unless you feel that what is being served in the cafeteria is more important than knowing how to keep from setting off the sprinklers, or freaking people out, or waking up in the middle of night floating off your bed.

"I know you all have very different abilities but you wouldn't be here, specifically in this class if you didn't still have trouble with control. For those of you wondering who the hell I am to teach you about control, well I've been living among non mutants for nearly ten years now." She paused taking a moment to look at each and every student, "And while some of you may not want to live in that world, it is the world we live in," she paused again...for now.. she mentally added.

"Any questions?"

She knew they were staring at her, but she never looked up to show those eyes of hers. The ones that drove her own mother mad.. They'd asked her if she'd like to wear sunglasses to hide them, but she didn't like to hinder her sight... They weren't truly as bad as some made them out to be. Some would say they were beautiful, but most were afraid of them. It was only a matter of time before the new students came to hate and ignore her as well...

Andrew chuckled as he helped Tsafai back to her feet. "Well if it's any help, I say a young man heading down the corridor about 5 minutes ago. Could be your boy. Tell ya what, if you want to go see if it was him, then I'll look after your class for ya"

Blink looked at Brian and said "ya I'm also in the mood for some fun" she paused "well not liek that but ya lets just get out of here" she latched onto Brian closed her eyes and then they were sitting on the steps in front of the doors. "Sorry if I scared you"panting she ussually couldn't do long range teleporting like that. "So you wanna do anything go to the training room hangout, fight eachother what" she said flicking her tail.

The class let out not long after the girl blink teleported that guy out of the class.
She walked out slowly and saw that guy with the sword on his back. Although she usually didn't talk to people she was compelled to ask why it was on his back.. She walked up to him.

"Umm..hi.. Look I don't usually like to pry into the business of others, but..I mean.. How did you get that sword on your back?"

She didn't expect an answer from him after there was nothing but silence, so she walked a bit ahead trying to escape her embarassment...

"Whoah... hey, wait?"

He caught up to her, running as he did so. He would have thought the sword, which weighed a ton on his back would drag him down, but it never did. The bio suit in his system made him stronger, worked his muscles, and he felt great, like he could lift anything.

He grabbed her shoulder, asking her to stop.

"I'm sorry... I was..."

In outer space. Thinking about old times, trying to understand everything. Nothing was understandable.

"It's kinda attached," He said, taking it off his back, and showing it too her. It was long, elegant, a dark metal that shimmered like obsidian. The blade was all deadly curves, that curled around at the very end into a sharp hook. It looked as sharp as anything in the world, never able to dull.

"I found it actually. From what I can tell, this sword is part of a training exercise for people... in outer space. They use this sword to practice... here, let me show you."

On the handle, the bottom side, was a small switch. It had an ON, and an OFF.

"If you turn it on, it helps you train. It's like... the sword is your own teacher. When someone comes at you, it automatically moves in your hand to block, or parry, or thrust, or whatever. So, your body gets used to the moves, and in the end you learn to do it on your own."

He nodded, as if this was an incredible sword, "Except... I don't know how to turn it off. And, I don't know how to get it away from me. It's... like I said, attached. It won't leave me until I turn it off, and no one I've talked to knows how."

He laughed at that, putting his sword back in its place, "I'm not even a mutant, I'm just a kid who picked up a sword... weird, huh? So, what about you, what brings you to this place?"

Brian's stomach was heaving up and down as he stood up, Blink's teleportation was a bit too much for him. "Just give me a minute." he groaned controling himself to not throw up.

He sat down and looked at Blink at the suggestion of training in the danger room. "I don't think I'll be able to do much after your teleporting me...I think I shouldve stayed in the class until it ended." he groaned.

Blink teleported to the desk in her room got some advil and pepto and teleported back in two seonds. "Will these help" she siad offering them. "Sorry bout that must of used some of your energy to" felling akward attraction to this boy she started going with her foot back and forth watching him sit down and taking the medicine
