With all the movie and tv quotes flying around...

What do you think is the most quotable movie ever? In my opinion, I'd have to say Princess Bride ^_^

"See! Didn't I tell you she'd never marry that rotten prince Humperdink?"
"Yes, you're very smart. Shut up."

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

But I do not think you would accept my help, since I am only waiting around to kill you.
That does put a damper in our realationship.
But, I promise I will not kill you until you reach the top.
That's very comforting, but I'm affraid you'll just have to wait.

*gasp*

*CRETINS*

My name is Inigo Montoya... you killed my father, prepare to die.

Sincerely,
ElSol

Why didn't you just list that among our assets in the first place?

The Princess Bride is a very quotable move, but none are more quotable than The Blues Brothers.

It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

Ooo well put!

So for my mother, my grandmother, my grandfather, and for the common good...I must now kill you and your brother.

i think both are incredibly quotable, although i personally give the nod to the princess bride

that said, i do tend to find the star wars triliogy eminently quotable as well.

"i don't care what you smell: just get in there, you big furry oaf!"

"All that hate's gonna burn you up, kid."

"It keeps me warm."

"You were saying, comrade?"

Sorry..for me it's History of the World - by Mel Brooks....

"Hey you look like the piss boy!"

"and you look like a bucket of shit."

There might be some disagreement about the most quotable MODERN movie. But the all-time champ doesn't even need to be named. It's most "famous" quote never occured, but odds are most folks can recognize it by a few of the real quotes.

Rumple Foreskin

--

Captain Renault: How extravagant you are, throwing away women like that. Some day they may be scarce.

--

Annina: Monsieur Rick, what kind of a man is Captain Renault?
Rick: Oh, he's just like any other man, only more so.

--

Rick: How can you close me up? On what grounds?
Captain Renault: I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!
[a croupier hands Renault a pile of money]
Croupier: Your winnings, sir.

--

Rick: Who are you really, and what were you before? What did you do and what did you think, huh?
Ilsa: We said no questions.
Rick: ...Here's looking at you, kid.

--

Ilsa: I wasn't sure you were the same. Let's see, the last time we met...
Rick: Was La Belle Aurore.
Ilsa: How nice, you remembered. But of course, that was the day the Germans marched into Paris.
Rick: Not an easy day to forget.
Ilsa: No.
Rick: I remember every detail. The Germans wore gray, you wore blue

--

Rick: Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she had to walk into mine.

--

Ilsa: But what about us?
Rick: We'll always have Paris. We didn't have, we, we lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night.
Ilsa: When I said I would never leave you.
Rick: And you never will. But I've got a job to do, too. Where I'm going, you can't follow. What I've got to do, you can't be any part of. Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Now, now... Here's looking at you kid.

--

Captain Renault: Major Strasser has been shot. Round up the usual suspects.

--

Rick: Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship

"Do you mean that flute-fetish band geek who made me her bitch and ditched me the next morning?" (funny, given that he later marries her)
