The most quiet vibrator?

What is it? I've tried the Silent Rocket, but it seems to have less power than the pocket rocket? I like a lot of power in my vibrator. I'm accustomed to using a Hitachi Magic Wand. Is there a vibrator out there that is powerful but extremely quiet too? The loud buzzing sound of the vibrator kind of turns me off!

Good question

Being an engineer...a very sexy engineer of course, no pocket protectors etc...I've toyed...with building vibrators for my love. Nearly all vibs use the cheapest of components and are easily improved with better motors etc. I've never really tried to keep one silent though. Care to collaborate on a proto-type?

What makes a good vib? Does it need to penetrate? Or just viciously oscillate? Can it be hard...or does it need to be jelly coated? I would love to hear what women want most out of their buzzing buddies. Maybe we can put a list together and come up with the next rabbit...or whatever.

Could be fun.

Honestly, I think you're likely out of luck if you want a powerful, quiet vibe. The materials that transmit vibrations best are hard things like metal or plastic. They also easily make the most noise. From my experience with dozens of vibes, you really have to choose between power and quietness because they seem to be opposite each other.

That's what I was afraid of. :( Someone needs to invent a vibe that is just as powerful as the Htachi but whisper quiet. They'd make millions!

I'm sure there is some super-expensive toy somewhere out there that has noise cancellation :D

You might look for a smaller vibe that has a shape that provides more intense stimulation. For instance, an egg/bullet vibe on its own doesn't really do much for me (I'm totally with you on loving Hitachi-type power!), but the same thing with rabbit ears is enough to do the job well. So, when I shop for vibes, I definitely take shape into account just as much as sheer power.

If you can afford it, you might look into something that oscillates rather than vibrates, like the Eroscillator. Maybe that guy who had a thread about buying his wife one for Valentine's Day recently could tell us how the noise level stacks up to the Hitachi.

If all else fails, have you tried wearing earplugs or headphones? Speaking of that, I wonder how well the noise-canceling headphones would work on killing vibe noise! :D

I am really intriqued by the Eroscillator. So it swerves back and forth instead of vibrating? Interesting. And I can see why that would be so quiet. I wonder what it feels like though? They are a bit pricey to buy on a whim...
