Not the most overrated ever but the most glaring example recently: Sixth Sense. A movie wihtout a plot or characters to care about. Total waste of my time.

(waterworld cannot be on this list. it was universally considered to be lackluster and panned by critics worldwide)

The military training film "Sexually Transmitted Diseases" or "The Lady Was a Tramp". I found the acting heavy handed, and the special effects too gruesome. Further, I had no sympathy for the lead actor's character (Pvt Party) when he felt the burn while urinating. All in all the movie wasn't at all believable..........which I attribute to the main reason I caught the clap, while on my 1st liberty. I'll give it one dick down.
