Sharyl Attkisson has penned a tome outlining the changes in the media since 2008. Driven by the bosses at the top the public is being denied coverage of important topics in order to shield the administration from criticism

Book blurb article.

Much like Bernie Goldberg before her, she exposes how the media is refusing to speak truth to power and instead has become the administrations boot licker. And, of course, when she was doing the expose's on the Bush administration she was every ones darling.

Well, she looks very hot, but....did she say anything new?

All "the media" may not have an agenda, but, off course, an opinion, a direction.

If you want them to become what they were, elect a Republican President because then their whole focus becomes getting him out of office.

Even if they have to make shit up. True investigative reporting is dying.

So many Liberals lead the charge with, YOU ONLY LISTEN TO FOX!!! (FOX lies redux)

;) ;)

Then they turn around and hold themselves superior because they get their news from multiple sources so they have had the story confirmed from multiple sources, so it has to be true. However, these sources are all reporting the same story from the same ideological belief system. Is this not the key to good propaganda? Repetition?

Then they tend to mingle only with people who think like them (same for posting) so that everyone they know tends to reenforce their belief system.

Yep. Since 9/11.

Before that. They dug in their heels to protect Bill Clinton.

It began when they took down Nixon with leaked Grand Jury testimony that eventually proved to be a fabrication, a fabrication that earned a Pulitzer Prize which is now as legitimate as the Nobel Peace Prize. But the press realized that they could make and break the Presidency and they have been in that business ever since, albeit in a one-sided manner, destroy Republicans, shield Democrats.

As far as I know, Nixon resigned in his own right. There was no impeachment based on a "fabrication". So maybe, there was some truth in it.

Counter proof?

The only counter-proof I have is that you are reading into my comments something I did not really say. Instead of being fair and balanced reporters of fact the press whipped the public into a fury that was ultimately responsible for the resignation. If you want to get impeachment in, it was going to happen if he did not. You see politicians are somewhat susceptible to the antics of Ellsworth Toohey and when they see a mob in motion, they run to the head of it and pretend to lead it.

OK, let's sum up: Nixon was a coward. Compared to Bill Clinton.

Lol.. *points and laughs*

Clinton had enough backers in the Senate to preclude any vote for impeachment. Nixon didn't have that support. Barry Goldwater went to Nixon and flat told him that if a vote were to be taken he (Nixon) would be impeached.

You can think of Nixon as a coward, or as having made a decision that would prevent the nation from being dragged through the media soap opera of an impeachment trial the results of which were a foregone conclusion. Either position is equally valid depending on your point of view.

That's an opinion.

I'll let it stand other than to say one had the press working against him, the other had the press working for him.

It's easy to be brave when the prosecutor gets more negative press attention that you do.

Book press releases are a lot moar fun for Wingnut Nation to promote than the actual books themselves. They can clutch their pearls without having stuff like "truth" come back and bite them on the ass.

David Halberstam wrote a book about this issue long ago. President Wilson usta jail reporters and publishers who annoyed him. Every President offers the media 3 choices: The IRS, the FBI, or BOOT LICKING.
