I love Vampire the masquerade and thought about creating a thread with that theme. Would welcome writers with same interrest in the masquerade. Any ideas are welcomed as well. Thought of letting the thread take place in Los Angeles. If interrested write up a bio in here. It will be open to everyone. Everyone that is somewhat mature that is.

I will take the role of the prince of LA.

Name: Lucian Montaque
Clan: Ventrue (Prince of Los Angeles)
Eyes: Piercing blue
Hair: Short black
Height: 6 feet
Weight: 155 lbs
Appearance: A slender man that looks to be in his late twenties. Always wear proper attire.

Anyone have questions, just ask them here or pm me.

Hmmmm. I might consider this, even though I tended to veer towards the Sabbat myself. As a friend of mine once said "It's not about powers in the Sabbat, it's about the size of your gun!"

In another Vampire thread I was playing a mortal homicide detective, a kick ass one mind you, that got drawn into the world..if you dont mind an inadvertent hunter

Having the bad influence of the Sabbat in the thread would be cool as the ultimate bad guys :)

It is nice to have mortals as well. Go for the detective if you like badbabysitter.

If anyone have questions just put them here.

Yes, well, with Pedro Sanchez, Panda, and last of the Sabbat Tremere running around, things would soon descend into complete chaos! It's been said that he's more insane than a Sabbat Malkavian on drugs, and twice as nasty!

Of course, he did got the nickname "Captain Apathy" from his teammates John Cassidy, a drug-dealing Ventrue, and Saddam, a psychotic Assamite. Called themselves the Chaos Engine.

Oh, the stories I could tell of their adventures through Mexico City... And that A1 Abrahms battle tank they managed to steal from a bunch of elders....

.....happy days.

I like vampire the masquered,I used to play it before it went out of print.I was wondering if I could still join.

Vampire the Masquerade is my all time favorite role playing game! However before I get tangled up into a thread I need to know about the people who are playing.

1.) Do they subscribe to the players should back stab each other or players should work together philosophy?

2.) Also do they think Vampires fuck and can feel that or not?

3.) Finally, does everyone have a keen understanding that they may not play, write for or move other characters, much less be ALL POWERFUL?

Those are KEY things to my enjoyment of any Vampire the Masquerade game.

Thanks,

Fury :rose:

Personally, I prefer my vamp groups to co-operate, but backstabbing is natural.

Yes, I believe they should be able to fuck and feel it

Of course! They're only (im)mortal!

You are more than welcome to play Scarlet :)

As to Furry´s questions :)

1: Personally i would like the back stabbing to be possible. Depending on personality of the chars, but i would like some to be loyal to the prince (me) Or else i won´t have that title for long. If Screech bring in the sabbat to the thread i don´t know if back stabbing will be necessary though :) Any suggestions on this matter are welcome.

2: That is something we will have to discuss. To my knowledge vampires in the roleplaying game don´t fuck but i think that is something we can change in this thread. In the tv series that was created 1996 named Kindred: The embraced. Based on Vampire the masquerade, The vamps there could fuck. So it is pretty open. As always, suggestions are welcomed.

3: I hope all that sign on to this thread understands these rules. I take the duty to kill of any chars that seriously break these rules. I am the prince after all, i can make it happen. Not to ALL POWERFUL of me i hope :)

Any more questions, please write them.

Backstabbing may be natural but IMO is not preferred. It depends on the game how likely it is. For instance does the game have a "coterie" of vamps who work together against the "bad guys" or for some purpose? If so there is less chance of back stabbing particularly if the "game master or storyteller" discourages such behavior among players.

On the other hand if there is no story line or common foes, the people tend to try to scare up some action by fucking each other and not in the pleasurable sense. I've had LONG tedious conversations with some that this is the way White Wolf wrote the game. Well, White Wolf also wrote the game with characters that have NO REDEMDING QUALITIES. I don't find that very fun or interesting. So I don't play that way.

I like to care about at least some of the PC's and NPC's.

In my ideal campaign each character would have certain talents that the others needed and respected so that we would have a reason to work together.

However the Sabbatt character or an Anarch would either have even more reason, be undercover or would be one of the villains we were contending with. Sometimes it is required that you make a "pact with the devil" though. The politics of the game being what they are I can think of many scenarios in which that could happen too.

What you should watch for perhaps is getting too many people who have motives and goals or archetypes that are too distant from each other for a cohesive storyline to be played together. Yes, I know everyone wants to be "different, cool and unique." Most vampire threads are all about how terribly cool the characters are and little gets done in them. Soon everyone is going off in all directions but they are rarely interacting and it becomes chaos.

Sex, White Wolf seemed to indicate there was none or little of it in the game however the vampires are seductive. Later it was intimated that Toreador vampires in particular might enjoy sex or perversions of it physically as well as psychologically. I've also heard those with humanities of 8 or above it is easier to move blood into those organs and enjoy sex. My philosophy is that if you can feel mental and physical pain as a vampire you should be able to also feel pleasure.

My idea of adversaries in this game are about The Camarilla and Sabbat. As the Camarilla try to uphold the masquerade and keeping the peace within the clans it is necessary for the clans to work together. The sabbat consider every non sabbat as an enemy and humans as cattle. So i see the sabbat as the common enemy in this thread. The enemy the clans in Camarilla joins forces against.

What i look for in this thread is the intrigues and politics of vampire society. There can be a leader of a clan in the city (Don´t remember the name of clan leaders.) that wan´t the role of prince for himself and will try to obtain that. But i still wan´t more peaple to be loyal to the prince and not everyone trying to back stab him because as i said, he wont hold the title for long. The major threat is still the Sabbat.

I like both character styles to be availible. both redeemable and not. I would find it exiting to even have a sabbat infiltrator in the mix. Undercover as you say.

As of motives. In the camarilla the common motive is to uphold the masquerade and keep the sabbat at bay.

As of sex, i like your philosophy :)

I agree about the infiltration thing. It could be cool to have one infiltrating both actually. Of course after the vauldrie some of the loyalty of the Cam spy would be siphoned off unless there were some way to counteract that.

The leaders of the clans are often called Primogen. Later in the chronicle they are also added a whip and all served on a sort of board. The Primogen gets two votes and is selected by the clan however the clan wishes to do that. The whips get one vote and are selected by the Prince. Capone added the whips when he took over Chicago.

I'm glad you like my sex philosophy! *grins*

Ok, if I do re-create Pedro Sanchez for this, would it be possable to have him as, like, bloodbound to the Prince or something? Obviously a Sabbat, but unable to topple the Prince. Forced to work for him, and stuff

Thanks for telling me that they are called Primogen :)

Anyone interrested in joining can write up a bio. Can be short as we will know eachothers from the posts we write.

Any ideas and suggestions and discussions are welcome :)

The prince can have use for him. May be some dirty work for him hehe.

Good good :)

Need to sleep about 4 hours before getting up for work so good night.

name: Pedro Sanchez
clan: Pander (non-clan alligned)
eyes: brown eyes
hair: unkept, shoulder length greasy hair, drooping moustache (stereotypical - just the way he likes it!)
other features: left side of face scarred from bloodacid splash. 5' 5", strong build. Known to sweat blood on occasion
personal gear: Pump-action shotgun

.......

Need a rough bloodpower guide?

Nice char Screech :) With him around i think the prince can consider himself safe.

Need more peaple to sign on this thread and some char bios to start it up. Any more VtM fans out there. Even if you don´t know about the game overly much you are welcome to join. Just pm me any questions or post them here.

Are you intrested in allowing a Mage to enter the mix?

Name: Tim Marks
Affiliation: Akashic Brotherhood
Apparant age: 32
Real Age: 94
Height/weight 5'10"/195
White guy
Dark hair (cut short)
Green eyes.
Occupation/Cover: Currently a Private Investigator associated with Dynacorp, the private military contractor.

He was born in the early part of the 20th century and fought in WWI in France during some of the heaviest fighting, first in the Canadian Army, then in the United States Marines when American enterd the war.

When he returned from the war, he became a detroit police officer and began studying Jujitsu with an elderly Japanese man who taught the police recruits. He continued his studies after others dropped the classes. At first he was taught the standard stuff...until one dark night he was faced with a gun in the hands of a criminal...

The gun was right against his head from behind...touching him...he got angry...the gun fired in contact with his head...the bullet missed.

The criminal went to jail...and Tim was awakened to his powers.

Over the years he has taken many jobs, Gangster, street hood, mercenary...poet, savant...all in search of knowledge.

Knowledge of what...he will know it when he finds it...

Kindred may dismiss him because he is not imortal or blessed with the powers of blood...but he can shift probability so that your knife's edge is dull, your bat's swing is off ballance, your gun...the factory forgot to put primer compound in that bullet or your firing pin broke...

Tim's specialty is misdirection, similar to that of a ravnos, but instead of burning blood, the creations are an extention of his will...and Tim hits like a force of nature even if you aren't distracted.

Tim is pragmatic, ruthless and very quick for a human. Not able to match a vampire's maximum speed, but dam near the upper end of human possibilities.

Tim knows about Kindred. Its not possible to live almost 100 years as a mage cop/thug/merc and not run across them. He doesn't have a problem with them per se, but doesn't tolerate disrespect from the lesser ones. The elders, of course, know better than to needlessly irritate a mage of whatever kind.

They might win...they might not...

His old master has passed away and he has come to LA to retrieve a book from his master, "The Fragile Path" which contains the secrets of his master's enlightnment.

Unfortunatly, the tremere are intrested in that book for its secrets, the assamites want the book & need to thwarth the tremere, the setites want the book because the others want it and for its potential in ending world, the nosferatu WILL have that knowledge...and nothing, absolutely nothing gets in the way of a Tzimisce who needs the book to present to her elders.

But Tim will stop at nothing to get that book...

Nothing living or dead.

__________

Sound intresting?
