Her long, blonde hair grazed the hardwood floors as Mattie hung upside down off the side of her bed. Her crystal blue eyes looked back and forth at the manicured fingernails on each hand. A grin crossed her face as her eyes began to glow to a glistening red and fireballs appeared, floating above her outstretched palms.

Suddenly, there's a knock at the door and Mattie sits up on her bed quickly. A young woman peeked in and smiled, "You're getting really good at those." Mattie grinned and said, "Watch this! Catch!" She tossed the fireballs like balls towards the other young woman and as they reached her, they turned to ice balls. The young woman tries to catch them, but drops them because of the temperature causing them to shatter on the ground.

Mattie laughs and says, "Really, Kelz, you should learn to think fast." With a wave of her hand, the shattered ice disappears.

Kelz rolls her eyes and says, "You've been at this school quite a bit longer than I have. Gimme a break. I can barely make a spark, but you have to admit that I am better at potions than you."

Mattie slid off the end of the bed and slipped on her bedroom slippers. "Anyways! So what's up? New witch here?"

Kelz smiled and said, "Yep, and he's not a witch. Try a warlock. A fresh one. He just found out so the Headmistress says to be careful not to freak him out."

Mattie laughed and said, "This should be an interesting adjustment for him then." She playfully pushed Kelz out of the room and followed, closing the door behind them.

They both walked down the long corridor of what seems to be an ordinary mansion. They reached the top of the grand staircase just as the headmistress entered the main doors with the new arrival.

Mattie stopped dead in her tracks and muttered to Kelz, "You never said he was a hot warlock."

((So obviously I need my new warlock. This is obviously a boarding school inside a very large mansion for the magically gifted. There could be other beings other than witches and warlocks, but no strange creatures and no gods, please. So feel free to join. Thanks.))

Nathaniel stopped dead in his tracks and looked around the bog entrence hall. He didn't know if he should be terrified or not awed and settle for a mix between both which propably made him look utterly stupid.

The last days had been a blur and now he was here in the ...school. It all had started with him setting the curtains on fire in their home. This wasn't that unusual because his older sister had done that too, unfortunatly he had done so without using anything beside his mind. He had been real angry at the time because his sister had teased him real bad and suddently the curtains had burst into flame. His parents had been furious at first and locked him away and now he was here.

He looked up at the girls that where coming down the stairs towards them and wondered if they where witches. They had to be, no normal girl could be so beautifull.

Nathaniel brushed back his dark black hair with his right hand, whiped his brow because he was starting to sweat for some reason and then he whiped his wet hand on his jeans. This was going to be awkward.

James moved out his door gracefuly. He had heard about this new warlock, and wasn't going to go down without a fight. Mattie had been his girl for the last 6 months, and the intimate moments in the library three nights ago had realy brought them close. He was incredibly jealous, but he realy did like Mattie...
James came to the end of the hall, and turned to see the girls moving in on the new guy. Who knows... this guy might turn out to be a good friend.

Ravie
21 yo
5'9", long silver hair worn in loose ponytail
Thin, elegant body, 32C
Like to wear tight-fitting all-black outfits that cover most of her hands.
Very friendly and nice to everyone's face, but mischievous (not mean, just naughty)

Ravie strolls into the main hall like she was in the building the whole time. In reality, she had been out in the local town (in that part of the country, the local town was miles away) having fun.

Ravie was a shapeshifter, and a rather good one at that. She could change into other creatures or people entirely or she could change just part of her body, she was a natural at her talents and had amazing control over them. One thing she liked to do for fun was to head into town (she would take the form of a bird to cover the distance quickly), take the form of some unfamiliar girl (so she wouldn't be recognized or get into trouble), drink up a storm (shifting a new, more powerful liver temporarily so she could handle her liquor better) and have herself some sexual adventures. Her talents allowed her to, however subtely, change parts of her body to accomodate any situation, so she found herself trying out very unnatural things just because she could. She was also very could at pleasing men because she could tighten herself up just that little extra bit or make herself just that much wetter.

Ravie knew better than to talk to anyone, including her friends, about her little adventures. She did her best to keep everything quiet, and she didn't usually engage in completely depraved acts with people she liked or that she would see again. Kind of a don't-shit-where-you-eat policy. But the few people in school she had hooked up with or dated over the years may have just gotten a glimpse of the really naughty side of Ravie.

As she walked in, she saw some students peering over the railing from the higher floors. She followed their gaze and saw the headmaster leading in a new student. A warlock! She smiled and thought of Kelz and Mattie. They were such warlock-lovers, they would probably be all over this one. She smiled at him as she walked by, but didn't linger, she didn't want to barge in on their party.

Archimedes Blaine, known as Arc to his friends, watched the goingson with mild disinterest. He was one of the few true wizards at the school, gifted with enormous raw power, and he had spent a long time learning to control and harness that power. To him, this new warlock wasn't much to fawn over. He knew that warlocks were natural magicusers, but he also knew that warlocks had instinctive control over their powers. Unlike a wizard, who had to learn to control their powers, a warlock could effectively think something into existence. He shrugged slowly, then pushed off the wall, and headed for his first class.

Mattie noticed James as he exited his room and stood a little distance from her at the top of the stairs. They had been together were about 6 months and it had just gotten really serious. She knew he would be jealous if she paid any serious attention to this new guy.

She was about to pry herself away from his beauty and go back to her room when she was suddenly called downstairs by the headmistress, "Matilda Cavanaugh...do come down here." She cringed when she heard her name. She hated the name "Matilda" and only the headmistress called her that, but she was somewhat of the headmistress' pet because she was an advanced student and had been there longer than most. Not for failing, but her powers had been realized that an earlier stage in life. She was the school fairytale. Her parents were very powerful. Her father was a evil wizard who rivaled the powers of Merlin and her mother was a beautiful dark enchantress. The fairytale was that people were amazed that Mattie wasn't evil, but her power was inevitable.

Mattie turned and smiled at the heamistress, making her way down the stairs. "Yes, Headmistress?", she asked as she reached the bottom of the stairs. The headmistress address the Nathaniel, "Nathaniel, this Matilda Cavanaugh. She is one of our more advanced students. She will be your guide until you get used to how things work around her." Mattie smiled with an outstretched hand, "Please, call me Mattie. It's very nice to meet you."

Meanwhile, Kelz smiled wickedly at James. For some reason, Kelz didn't like James and the fact there was someone else that would perhaps catch Mattie's attention thrilled her.

Reginald Blakely, sometimes known as old Reggie to the students was a rather shadowy figure. Though he taught an occasional class his actual role at the school was a mystery. Some students assumed he was the headmistress’s lover. None knew that he owned the elegant mansion that housed the special boarding school, but all knew he was a very powerful warlock. The matter of his age was always a hot topic amongst the students. He had the grace, charm and elegance of a distinguished middle aged warlock while still possessing the good looks and exuding the vitality of a much younger man. His wavy light brown hair had just a hint of grey at the temples while his short cropped brown goatee was streaked with grey. The young witches whose loins tingled with forbidden desires for old Reggie would have been shocked to learn he had celebrated the 300th anniversary of his awakening the prior summer. At 6’ 2” Reginald’s fit body always made an immediate impression upon those he met. His piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into one’s very soul. Of course there were those that were not suitably impressed by his looks or demeanor. However, those poor unfortunates had but to feel the tickle of his powers to come under his spell.

Reginald watched from his window as the new student approached the mansion. The boy looked awkward and a bit silly. He did not seem at all as he was described, but then he had only just learned that he was not an ordinary young man. It had been a long time but Reginald still remembered the day he discovered his own powers. That had been a very dark day. A close friend had brought some minor betrayal upon him. In his anger Reginald had flung the boy across the room with but a thought. He remembered the awful sight of his good friend lying in heap with most of his bones broken. Though the boy lived he was crippled and destined to live life on the charity of others. Reginald saw to it that his friend did not have to beg for that charity.

When the new student disappeared into the building, Reginald went to his special cabinet. He opened the doors that concealed what an ordinary man would imagine to be an ornate mirror. He softly spoke three strange words and the mirror came to life. The wise old warlock watched as Nathanial was greeted by his sister, the school’s headmistress. Reginald was amused at the reaction of the sexy young witches to the handsome young warlock. He could almost smell their arousal even from the other side of the mansion. Reginald’s gifts were great. He had foremost the gift of near eternal youth. He also had the heighten senses of the most powerful of the creatures of the wood. Better eyesight than the great cats, better hearing than the mystical elves of the old world and a stronger sense of smell than the most sensitive hound. Most important of his gifts was the magical powers of a great warlock honed over hundreds of years of practice.

(OOC: I hope Reginald meets with the original posters approval)

Trishana

Sparkling butterflies and soft laughter swirled around Arc as he made his way down the south corridor to class.

"You really should smile more" came the soft mocking female voice "Brooding doesn't suit you. "

Suddenly Trishana's slender form materialized before his eyes. The sun spilled in through the windows of the hall, playing across her pale skin. Her long red curls falling across her shoulder, shining brightly. A teasing smile on her face, her bow shaped mouth curved upwards at the corners. Her emerald green eyes glinting with mischief.

Of all the boys in this school Arc was her favourite.

Arc raised an eyebrow, then laughed. Trishana never failed to show up when he needed cheering up. He tossed her a gemstone he had found earlier outside, and then looked in the direction of the new student.

"Big commotion over a warlock...of course, the rumour has it that he's almost as powerful as Master Reginald. Bet that must have been an interesting awakening."

Trishana's smile widened as she held the precious gem up to the light. Odd she thought Arc always had a present for her each time she saw him. Falling in step beside him she wrapped her hand around his arm, drawing herself close to his side.
Her eyebrows arched at his words "Not getting nervous are you?" chuckling softly as she looked up at him "A bit territorial perhaps ... dont worry so much Arc." she chided sweetly "I doubt he's anywhere near as powerful as you. Besides he's just beginning to understand his powers."
She knew Arc would be uneasy at the arrival of the new warlock. the school had been buzzing with rumors for weeks. Arc had always been the center of attention, his very aura demanded it. he was one of the youngest and most gifted wizards in the school. But now there seemed to be a shift in the balance of things, Trishana had felt it the moment she awoke that morning. Something was going to happen, and she wasnt sure it was going to be good. Somehow Nathaniels arrival changed everything.

Arc grinned, and thought carefully how best to respond. It wasn't the rumours or the aura of the young man. It wasn't even his own thoughts, something just seemed odd about this. The new student didn't seem to be like the others. He almost seemed...as if he were like Arc.

"Hello Mattie," Nathaniel said meekly, "you can call me Nate, Nathaniel is a bit awkward."

He gathered up his belongings and took a look at the headmistress who nodded at him an Mattie and left. His whole body told the story that he was utterly lost.

"What am I supposed to do now?" He asked with a pleading look at Mattie. "Where will I stay, what is this here anyway?"

"What am I supposed to do now? Where will I stay, what is this here anyway?" Mattie smiled widely at his confusion and grabbed one of his bags.

"Well, Nate, follow me." She walked towards the grand staircase and began going up, her hips swaying with each step. To an outsider, she would seem like a flirt, but she just naturally has a seductive draw.

She led him down the same corridor where James' room presided. She didn't see James so she assumed he went back into his room or went to class. She took him the bedroom that was next to James' room and opened the door.

"This is where you're staying. Boys' Corridor B. And this Madam Lucinda Jackery's School for the Magically Gifted. Don't worry, you'll get used to it fast." She placed the bag she was carrying at the foot of the large canopy bed. They were well taken care of Madam Lucinda's. Their rooms were lavishly decorated just like any normal mansion.

She hopped up on the end of the bed and crossed her legs towards him. She smiled warmly and said, "So tell me, Nate. Are your parents magical too? I hear you're quite powerful so I assume they must be, right?" She looked at him expectantly before quickly placing her hand over her mouth then saying, "I'm sorry if I'm a little nosey, but it's nice to have new people arrive." Then she added with a wink, "Especially warlocks. They're the only ones that can really give me a run for my money in class. I like challenges. So what kind of powers do have already?" She fell back on the bed and came back up quickly, "Sorry, I'm doing it again. Maybe I should leave you alone to unpack. They told me not to freak you out. I tend to do that."

Nate was flustered with all the questions and new things that where thrown at him. He dropped the bag he was carrying and fell down in a plush char that stood beside a desk.

"No, my parents are simple farmers, they are not magical in any way. And I don't know if I'm powerfull or not."

His head sunk to his breast.

"I set the curtains at home on fire and that's it, now my parents hate me and want to get rid of me."

He looked up again. "Sorry, I'm not great company right now. You are very nice to me, thank you." he forced a smile on his face. "I guess I will be staying here a while so I need to know what I'm supposed to do and know around here."

"I can almost read your thoughts." Trishana laughed throwing her head back "Stop ... the daughter of the High House of Dromand commands it"
Trishana grinned devilishly.
Arc was the only person she could joke openly about her family's postion with. As daughter of one of the most influencial and ancient bloodlines in the realm, people often viewed her differently. The mere mention of her father, Argyle the Great, made people treat her with the highest regard. It was hard to know who her friends were, but with Arc she never felt different. Though she was proud of her heritage, rooted in the mysticism of the ancient ones; she often wondered what it would be like not to be bound by duty or name. The expectations of her parents weighed heavily on her shoulders. Her father, a Grand Wizard with the high council of magic; and her mother a High Priestess of the Goddess, skilled in the elemental arts. It wasn't a surprise that her powers flowed freely, nor that she was adept in almost every subject; though she preferred the use of the elements; she also had quite the knack for making herself invisble and manipulating the thoughts of others.
Tugging softly on Arc's arm "Lets get to class." she whispered

Arc nodded. He had some an experiment to perform in class today. It would be a good way to get his mind off of conspiracy theories. Besides, they'd meet the new student soon enough.

"You ready to be amazed at the results of my experiment? I've finished the preparations, now I just have to apply the magic." He smiled, knowing she'd like the results. She came from a wealthy and influential family, but she always loved shiny things. She reminded him of his mother, who was a retired catburglar in that respect. People always told him his mother was so successful because of her magical aura, but he just shrugged it off. It would only make him wonder about his father, whom he'd never met.

Mattie stood and walked over to him then kneeled beside his chair to see his face. "Honestly, how could they hate you? Magic is wonderful. You're special. They just don't know how to handle something like this. They'll come around. I'm sure of it." She squeezed his hand reassuringly before standing again.

"Let me show you how great magic is. Watch this." She pointed towards his unpacked suitcase and then she snapped her fingers. His belongings flew from the bags and into their proper places in the wardrobe. His bags then neatly folded and slid under the bed.

She giggled and winked at him, saying, "It can be so Mary Poppins sometimes. Anything you want to do, you can do it with magic. It's wonderful." She had an obvious gleam of excitement in her eye. "It can be as intoxicating as sex." She blushed a little after saying that, but her face soon turned back to normal.

She shrugged and said, "Well anyways, we go to about 5 classes a day. Different classes every other day. You pick your classes based on her powers that you gain in the beginner's class. Everyone has different powers. Judging by your occasional pyrotechnics, you'll probably be in one of my classes. Anyways, meals are served in the Great Dining Room. Special occasions such as birthdays or holidays are held in the Great Hall. No boys on the Girls' corridor after 9....but no one really abides by that one considering most of us can walk through walls."

She loved this school so she gets a little excited talking about it. "Anything else you wanna know? Anything at all?"

Thrishana's eyes twinkled in delight as stepped inside the classroom "By all means ... amaze me, oh great one" she chuckled.
Arc's experiments always impressed her, especially when their results involved a trinket for her. She often wondered if he knew how much she prized such treasures, not merely because they sparkled but because they had been gifts from him.
Walking briskly she headed for her seat behind the plain solid oak table, with a causal wave of her hand, their alchemy supplies appeared before them. "Well ... what are you waiting for?" she smiled softly at him her eyes locking with his briefly. Quickly she turned away, feeling the warm blush creep into her cheeks. He sees you only as his friend, she admonished herself inwardly.

Arc smiled, and sat down, pulling out his homework. He went over the formulae carefully, then started to mix the chemicals and powders in a flask. He measured each ingredient with the utmost care, before dropping some powdered gems of a variety of colors. He then heated the mixture, before pouring it into a mold, and holding his hand out over it, concentrating, and murmuring words. When he pulled his hand away, the mixture had cooled and solidified, becoming a rainbow diamond, which he broke out of the mold and showed to the teacher, before handing it to Trishana.

"How's that to add to your collection, Trish?" He looked at her, seeing her face light up, and felt better about the day.

Ella tucked the wicker basket under her arm. The gentle strawberry blond ringlets fell out the bottom of her hooded red cloak, cascading down her ample bosom. Though not a real witch or warlock, Ella's place in the mansion was to serve those living inside. While she lived outside the castle in a small cottage, a mere peasant, common girl, she had been hired to care for the needs of the castle. She possessed many talents, such as cooking, cleaning, knitting, crafting, and woodworking. She could pretty much handle anything anround the place. A soft furry sensation against her bare ankle interrupted her thoughts. She smiled, her sky blue eyes ignited, and grinned at the wolf beside her.

"Lucian, I love you!"

She set her basked down, giggled, and scratched the large wolf under the chin. Ever since she had discovered him on her doorstep, she knew her heart belonged to the little guy.

...Lucian...and *only* Lucian....

She scowled. The men in her life had been nothing but heartbreakers...first with her father, impregnating her mother and then leaving her behind to raise Ella all on her own. He was an alcoholic, and woman idolizer....

..and then her brother. Betrayed. Though Ella imagined he had gone insane. She woke one morning to discover his rogue blade pressed against her throat. She saw the insanity, the malice, the confusion in his eyes. Her older brother had always been malicious, though in that final moment he had eventually decided to take his own life instead of hers.

Ella shrugged, and sighed deeply at the recollection. She didn't need a man in her life..they were only trouble.

She giggled, and rubbed Lucian under the chin.

Ahead of her lay the mansion, and she sighed, lifting her plain gray skirt so it wouldn't drag as she made her way into the building.

She opened the door, glanced inside, and blinked.

"Hello....? Mattie? Kelz? It's me, Ella!"

She peered inside the wicker basket hanging over her arm. The smell of hot rolls fills the air.

Trishana couldn't help the wide grin that spread across her face as Arc handed her the large rainbow hued gem. It was unlike any he had given to her before. Her gaze travelled to his, their eyes locking.

Her breath caught in her throat as she whispered "Oh Arc ... it's Beautiful ... thank you".

Turning her gaze back to the diamond in her palm, her fingers reverently stroked its smooth surface. Her eyes suddenly brimmed with fresh tears, and she blinked furiously at them. Quickly she whispered a spell waving her hand just above the gem, and suddenly it was attached to a long silver necklace. Turning her watery eyes to Arc she smiled.

"Will you put it on for me?" she asked smiling shakily handing the chain to him.

With her left hand she lifted her long red curls from her shoulder and held them against her head. Her charm bracelet which held every other charm and bauble given to her by Arc tinkling softly at her wrist. As she felt the weight of the diamond rest settle agasinst her cleavage, her long fingers closed about it. She shuddered as she felt Arc's fingers brush against the nape of her neck, sighing she closed her eyes. Had he meant to make the precious gem in the colors of the rainbow she wondered. In their world it was a symbol of promise ... the promise of good things to come.

Nathaniel

He marveled at the magic she performed and tried to look at every direction at once. A grin crept on his face.

"It can be as intoxicating as sex." she said and the grin was replaced by a look of embaresement as his face turned deep red. He really didn't understand much of what followed. His older sister had teased him about still beeing a virgin but he was very shy around girls, even around the other farm girls at home, who really didn't mind fooling around.

She seemed to be really excited and asked him "Anything else you wanna know? Anything at all?"

He tried to get the color of his face back normal but was very sure that he didn't really succed.

"I don't know," he answerd and shrugged his shoulders, " what is your magic profession?"

Arc smiled, as he hooked the necklace together behind Trishana's neck. He knew she loved such things, and he was always looking for a new way to make or acquire something beautiful. He didn't know she loved getting them from him, but he was always happy to oblige. She was the one who made him feel welcome at the school, and had stuck by him since he came there. his own awakening destroyed his father, so he was glad for anyone who could make him feel better. Besides, the look of pure joy in her eyes was always worth it. He had a sudden thought, that she might in fact be worth dating, but he brushed it aside. He still thought of himself as too homely to be able to find a girlfriend.

Mattie noticed Nate blush at the mention of "sex". She concealed a nervous giggle before leaning against the end of the bed.

"I don't know. What is your magic profession?" She could tell he was still very confused by the whole situation that he had been dragged into.

She giggled slightly and said, "Profession? Right now...I'm just a student, but one day I hope to be a powerful enchantress like my mother minus the her being evil and practicing dark magic. I'm not too into that part, but the power would be great."

She noticed a very confused look on his face and said, "Don't worry. Everything will make sense eventually. And you? From what I hear, your powers will soon rival those of Merlin and maybe one day you'll be a powerful wizard. But right now, powerful wizard, we have class."

She hopped up and said, "Levitation. Should be fun."

"Levitation, what is that?" he asked as he got up as well and followed her. He was very confused and a little bit frightend about all that was happening to him, especially after Mattie mentioned her mother beeing evil.

The only good thing today was that Mattie seems to be friendly and really was trying to help him. He would have to make sure to stay close to her.
